I agree with absolutely everything in this nerf with one qualification: isn't this a pretty big nerf to Dreads now since they use XL guns too?

They're getting rid of the siege module tracking penalty to compensate.

This is probably the biggest effective buff to Dreadnaughts since the seige cycle was halved. Maybe bigger.

How so? The -50% tracking penalty is moving from the siege module to the guns themselves. The only difference now is that their guns have lower tracking when non-sieged.

I believe he means that with Titans being reduced in relative power, the Dreads look better?

    Two things:

1 the biggest drawback to using dreads is getting a buttload of supers dropped on ships that can't move or be remote repped for five minutes at a time. So dreads are being buffer in the same way that a nerf to wolves is a buff to sheep

2 well... See if you can guess

  • CadmusCadmus Registered User regular
Ah I see what you mean. Ya, since dreads will at least be able to get 3-4 shots off before the titans can lock them they will be a bit more useful.

After the first 30 seconds though, the fight will go the same as before.

I'm weak and I'll be resubscribing to this terrible game. But I have a question about the changes to ship skills. All I need is racial cruiser skill to IV, destroyers IV, BC to V and I will get all racial destroyers IV and BCs to V? Correct? And If I train destroyers V, I'll get all racial destoryers V? Also, when is this change implemented, since I need about 13 days of training to get all those skills?

You might need racial cruiser 3 for all the BCs but yeah, basically. Not sure when it hits.

I'm hoping it hits with the summer expansion, because :23days:. Might even have time for Amarr Cruiser III and Destroyers V.

    Sorry, cap skills :(

Battlecruisers are way more fun than capital ships anyway

Truth, flying capitals is actually kind of boring for the most part.

I might have to subscribe for a month to see where my battlecruiser skill is at. I believe I had it trained to at least IV.

There has literally never been a better time to get Battlecruisers V. The tier 3 BCs are amazing, the Drake and Hurricane are excellent, and CCP are looking at reworking the tier 1 BCs (by getting rid of the awful tier system) and we're sure to get at least 1 new FoTM ship out of that.

I'm a wee bit late to the party, but those changes and the accompanying threadnought are the best.

I'm not coming back though. Also offtopic is vastly improved without my posting.

I have not played since...at least last fall. I read they buffed nullsec anomalies in the winter expansion? Somebody tell me about how much they're worth these days pretty please.

If I am not fucking around, I can get 11-12 million a tick in my T2 Drake and I have decent missile skills, but not perfect.

I can't believe I'm thinking about getting back into this game. Something must be wrong with me.

It would be nice to be able to read Goonwaffe forums again, though.

Reading that thread on the titan nerf made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside when someone actually thanked Goons for showing them how terrible Eve and CCP are and that they'll never play again.

I'm thinking about it as well. One of the things that I've disliked in the past is the horrid pve isk grind. Watching local stresses me out, and after slowly making the isk I don't want to risk losing anything. I wish that part wasn't so mind numbing.

Go join incursions or join a wh corp, make a bunch of money with a group, lose it all by pvping, rinse repeat.

No, it's just basically CCP started running fleets of CCP employees (in battleships) only as an event and to teach CCP how to play their game. PL dropped titans on them and obliterated them. Not a wise political move.

    Oh EVE. Never change.

  • BaidolBaidol I will hold him off Escape while you canRegistered User regular
I would have figured they would confirm the tech nerf by this point.

Let us put the most valuable moons in only a single region of space. Nothing can go wrong with this plan.

I think there are people in CCP that think that's a good idea. It promotes strife to have certain regions be more attractive than others.

They should have had a system whereby those precious materials somehow rotated around the galaxy every now and then. Maybe every few months? Gives people an incentive to 'settle down' but (one would hope) disincentivises them wanting to turn a region into a fortress?
