Well, it depends on if you have (or know someone who has) a student or teacher discount.

Photoshop CS6 Extended: $250
But what I bought two years ago was the CS5 Production Premium package, which came with: Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, Flash, Premiere Pro, OnLocation, Encore, After Effects, and Audition. There's also a CS6 Production Premium package coming out, which is what I'd probably save up for. I also do video editing and I'd like to eventually get around to learning Flash. With educational discount (younger brother attending college), that's $450. Without discount, that would be $1,900 standalone, or $750 as an upgrade-from-CS5 set.
And with all these software pieces I still hold out hope that eventually I can get around to finding someone who'll pay job money for knowing how to use them. Really got to get around to more study.
Huh, I didn't recall anything that bad from that exhange. I only kind of skimmed it though.
Regardless, good luck to you Mr Mau on all things that are potential portfolio related and Crimsondude, no reason to be that hard on yourself. You seem like good people.
Sabre, have you looked into the whole Creative Cloud business? Photoshop subscription is going down to $20 a month, and the full service is only $30 a month the first year if you have CS2 or higher previously.
Mastery is the result of ceaseless error, combined with ruthless self-appraisal.

Amongst the many reasons why I like this comic, is the fact that the pacman tattoo resembles... well... you know...

Pink shirt guy's mouth seems to take up most of his head, like a snake.
I have no idea how to make an edit of it, though, so here's something else.

Very nice use of the Kratos drawing too!
That's it, close up shop here, everything else will pale compared to this.
Which I'm assuming is a good thing.
We've got 44 more pages in this thing to go!
If we had shut down the edit thread every time we thought that, we would have missed out on hundreds of moments of joy.
