I wish I hadn't perused the prequel comics in the book store a couple days before.
The whole Sentinel Prime siding with Megatron thing was touched upon in the books. So I was kinda waiting for that whole twist to come up. I think it would have been a pretty good surprise had I not ruined it for myself.
Even though I already knew about this going in, even who specifically dies at that betrayal moment, it's a powerful scene. I wasn't disappointed.

Also, along the lines of who came back and who didn't ...
The bikes never got enough time, I thought at least one survived. And my wife was quick to spot Barricade shooting the shit with Soundwave at the base of the tower, and the first thing out of her mouth is "How many times can you die without coming back? 2? Someone's fucked"
Weren't the bikes supposed to be Arcee? Why there were more than one I don't understand. Besides so many of those bots seemed to disappear, possibly die, then randomly show up later I gave up trying to figure out who was alive and who wasn't. Not that the character designs in the movie make it easy at times to figure out who the hell is supposed to be who.

Acree was multiple bikes because one bike is tiny and this isn't G1 transformers where no one gave a shit about the transformed scale of anything.

    Also regarding the third movie.
totally sweet to see Optimus rolling with his trailer again.

Would have liked to see it used on screen more than once though.

On the subject of stuff we'd have liked to see in DotM...
Seriously, Shockwave? That's all you do in this movie?
Ride in a building eating worm thing, pose menacingly, then die like a bitch?
Your showing up in the trailer was 90% of the reason I saw this movie...

I thought this was pretty bitchin'. Spoiler filled highlights reel below:
Sentinel Prime's betrayal was pretty goddamned cool and surprising, I did not expect it!

Sentinel Prime was a stone cold motherfucker, shocked again when Ironhide bit it.

Megatron retaining the head-wound from the last movie was pretty cool, his tattered and ragged appearance was nice, as was Starscream's eternal groveling.

Holy shit did Sam get entertaining. Someone else already mentioned his self-loathing thing, but (barring scenes with his godforsaken fucking parents) he was actually a pretty cool dude in this movie, trying to get over the fact that he's just an ordinary dude.

Sam and a couple NEST guys killing Starscream = win.

Holy shit that entire end sequence with all of the deaths and fights was wild. Kind of shocked when the Decepticons straight out fucking EXECUTED some of the Transformers, begging for mercy and then blam blam blam.

Oops, kinda destroyed Cybertron by turning the space bridge into a black hole cannon. My bad.

Sam hitting that motherfucker in the head with a goddamned piece of concrete on a bent steel rebar = finally, FUCK.

Optimus Prime and Megatron vs. Sentinel Prime was goddamned boss.

Optimus Prime then KILLING THEM BOTH. Holy. Shit.

I will say of all the great fight scenes,
The final battle between Optimus and Megatron was the Fable II final battle of the TF movies so far. It seemed lacking a bit. It goes from oh hey Megatron's here to fight Sentinel Prime. Oh now Optimus is back up. Oh ok wow that was quick.

Just got back from seeing DotM. Nice throwback to The Ultimate Doom episodes from G1. Action was good, but like the other films is full of plot holes. For example:
The Ark gets shot leaving Cybertron's orbit during the war but somehow makes it to earth's moon in 1961. Almost century AFTER Megatron is found in the Antarctic. Soundwave arrives sometime during the 60s, but doesn't do shit apart from recruit some humans until RotF. Why didn't he find Megatron and the AllSpark sooner? Why didn't Megatron wake up Sentinel Prime during RotF?

Also: when the fuck did Bumbebee get captured? One moment he saves Sam and Lennox, the next he's suddenly a prisoner and about to be executed.

    regarding your second spoiler,
when did Barricade ever die before this one?
he just kinda never shows up after the highway in the first movie, and I don't think he was in the second at all

Because they need the Matrix to revive Sentinel. Finding him would have meant nothing without it. So they let the humans and autobots do their work for them.

And Soundwave doesn't do shit about Megatron because he can't find him. He's behind 3 football fields worth of concrete.

I liked this movie a lot, it was fun and engaging. It was really pretty dark at certain parts and I thought the acting was above the last two. Sam was a much better character and the female lead was tons more useful than Mikayla ever was. John Malkevich's cameo was right up there with Bernie Mac's in the first one. Terry Crews was pretty good in his small role too. If this is how they close the series then it was a damn fine job.

The one thing I missed, and maybe it wasn't in the movie
When did Optimus get his weapons cache back from Shockwave? The Wreckers make the distraction and then Optimus is just flying around. We never see him grab and transform the trailer.

Edit: Just thought of a second thing.
Why was Megatron sitting amongst rubble when the girl double talked him into killing Sentinel? Why wasn't he fighting?

I just got back from seeing this.

My viewing experience was tainted as all get out because I spilled my popcorn like 3 seconds after entering the theater, and it was packed so I couldn't switch seats far enough to get away from this. To make matters worse, there was this broad who couldn't have been more than fifteen who kept staring at me every three seconds, then back at the popcorn, then back at me, then getting all her friends to stare at this popcorn, and I have no idea why this was such a source of amusement. Human misery is hilarious, but minor human inconvenience is not a thing to get all worked up about.

    That being said:

I loved everything in this movie except for the non-Malkovich or Laserbeak parts of Sam's new job.

I had a blast watching it, and the 3D didn't give me a headache, which 3D usually does.

Alls you need to know is shit gets fucked up real good, and the humans weren't even annoying once.

    Except at Sam's job

I think the off-story in some comic or something is that Optimus ran him into a bridge pier on the way to Central City. Either way, he didn't show up during the final battle in the first movie. And never in the second. Then BAM chillin' with Soundwave.

I would venture to guess that
Megatron was actively flying towards the landing spot of the cube, Earth. The Ark was hit before it really left Cybertron and it drifted through space, coincidentally landing on Earth as well. Or it was always the plan to get to Earth, maybe Megs relayed a message to Sentinel about it's trajectory, and the crew of the Ark did all they could to steer the ship closer.

    its actually kind of strange

in the beginning and the very end of the movie, her lips are within or at least sort of close the range for "normal, human lips"

but whenever everything is exploding they are like those gag lips made of wax

    you know these

I liked the first TF, didn't like the second, think the third is better then the first and the 3D is definately awesome
One thing I didnt really get though, in the city fight towards then end with Lennox and his unit
They get past shockwave, climb up the building, then jump out the building onto shockwave. Did I miss a reason for bothering with that or was it just to give an excuse to use those wing suits again, which where pretty cool

And yea Optimus is totally a boss
