Note: Apparently we are not supposed to have any more DNF threads; so this is just a "Thank You" thread to GBX/2k/3DR. Keep it civil, I hope this is okay w/ the mods, if not, please lock.
That said, I preordered this game 10 years ago. You might remember seeing my "patient man" receipt.
As a "Thank You" from Gearbox,
they sent me a package which I opened today, here is what was inside:

Some pics:
I must say that my favorite stuff is the signed Duke picture and especially the signed Ball of Steel Edition.
That's amazing. Never thought I'd have a copy of DNF signed by 3DR and Gearbox guys.
==================
Also I gotta post this here:
The Balls of Steel Edition, there were only 136,000 copies of this edition produced world wide.
Gearbox gave me the 10th one produced, the earliest production copy of the game verified:

Here's a video if anyone is curious --
ScrewAttack was there with me to record the "journey" of buying the game:

It was fun. The ScrewAttack crew is awesome!
Thanks again, Craig!

Edit: Whoops. The thread changed, and is specifically not a Duke thread anymore. Question redacted. My apologies.
Its probably actually another name but its hard to tell in cursive.

That definitely says Duke Nukem.
Looking forward to seeing the ScrewAttack video on Monday.
Agreed, this is super classy of them.
Thanks for sharing, Slash!
But it is really cool they did that. Much love to them.
It wasn't them, it was the PR guy, who was fired.
I don't see it on the list
"Orkses never lose a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fightin so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!".
The PR guy was fired for saying it. The blacklisting in general still takes place.
And really, it was more about their early defensive posturing about not caring about review scores and whatnot.
The guy was from a PR firm that 2k Games fired after his silly statements. It has nothing to do with Gearbox.
It goes like - Gearbox is hired by publisher 2K to finish DNF, 2K hires PR firm to publicize DNF, Gearbox finishes, 2K publishes, PR firm screws up, gets fired.
"Orkses never lose a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fightin so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!".
I guess they were all out

The worst part is that we can't make new lists of all the shit that's come out since DNF started development, although the current list is pretty colossal.
Plus the list of things that have happened since the original list was compiled, which I think happened in 2005?
Nice to see Gearbox and Randy Pitchford came through. He had talked about this in at least one interview, but I was starting to think they had either missed Slash or not managed it. Very cool.

Anyone can mail a box of swag. A classy gentleman puts the extra effort in.
It's all about the presentation.
No but really, congrats man!
Something that is cheap, hits hard, and has a bad aftertaste, but nevertheless does the job.
What was in the Gearbox swag bag?
That was what I was thinking. Bubblegum for ass kicking is almost like a steroid.
"Orkses never lose a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fightin so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!".
Also this is super classy move by the Dev's. It's the little things like this that make it easy for me to support this game and it's developers by actually buying the damn thing.
