The New Club Nintendo Thread

I'm torn. On one hand, soundtrack. On the other hand, awesome Luigi (and others) poster. I may go with the poster, just to have another one to put up in my boys' room.

Curious why we aren't getting the Luigi soundtrack though if they're offering a soundtrack anyway..



edit: Anyone know if this is an orchestrated soundtrack or music from the game? If it's orchestrated I may get it anyway. If just the game music, will get the posters.

If I were given a choice, I'd go with Majora's OST, though. I'm not that fond of Luigi anyway.

I'm not fond of Luigi either, but the sprite and background design reminds me of the good ol days.

I haven't seen the posters yet, but this is disappointing to me. I'd rather have the Luigi soundtrack and already have plenty of posters. Majora's Mask is great and all, but I don't have any special attachment to it.

I still own Smash Bros on N64 and Super Mario Land on the original GB!

Despite never playing MM I picked up the soundtrack. I don't need more posters (and I don't like Pikmin), and Zelda music is always great. Should integrate well into my collection of music to listen to at work.

This. If you're not terribly interested in either of the Platinum Rewards, it's still worthwhile to redeem and sell one of 'em.

With the money you get in return you can buy probably all the downloadable rewards easily.

I went with the posters again, just like last year. I've never played MM, and the WW and Luigi's posters are just way too cool. I like 'em.

Having a hard time deciding. I really like that Wind Waker poster....

Kind of disappointed in both rewards though TBH. It feels like they are digging leftovers out of a warehouse somewhere...

I got the posters. I'll frame and hang the Luigi one. The others will probably collect dust in my closet.

I don't even remember MM's soundtrack. Other than the fact that its version of the classic overworld theme was kinda crap.

Well looking at the pics from the website, the soundtrack does have a newer/nicer-looking album art/disc label art - compared to the old soundtrack I got years ago. I would take pics of it for comparison, but it's probably sitting in a shoebox filled with old video game accessories and pokemon cards in my parents' house.

i keep getting a message that i've earned the elite status gift. the pop-up message says "you've earned Null status" which is amusing but kind of scary. When i try to redeem though, it says "Sorry this item is available for 2013 Gold/Platinum members only." Anyone else having that weird issue. I'm pretty sure i hit platinum. I guess i'll just email their support group but thought i'd check here first in case anyone else ran into the same issue and resolved it.

I was looking over the rewards and I can't select the Platinum ones. The site says I'm not a Platinum member in the reward page, yet shows me as Platinum in my history.

Tech support, here I come.

I've had a Majora's Mask cartridge for close to 10 years and I can never get past the first dungeon because the time restriction is fucking infuriating.

I'm thinking I want the soundtrack, but the posters are really tempting. I want to get them and mount them on particle board. I'm gonna have to think about this.

In Europe a shortened version was distributed to Club Nintendo members.

So it's gonna be that shorter one, I guarantee it.

Got Platinum status from last year (from getting a 3DS & WiiU mostly) but not really interested in any of these rewards.

EDIT: I wonder why they don't do any Platinum-exclusive digital deals. Like "$10 Store Credit" or "Here have a free download of something Nintendo made a year or two ago in the $15-$20 range." Seems like you could make some nice digital rewards for Platinum that would end up costing Nintendo less money than manufacturing and shipping out physical rewards.

I ordered the posters. I didn't think I would go with a physical reward because I hate clutter, but that Pikmin poster won me over big time.

Their strategy in general tends to baffle me at times. Seems like digital stuff would be way cheaper for them too.

I have no strong pull toward any of the rewards...
But I do like the Windwaker and Pikmin posters (the Luigi one didn't really seem amazing to me...and I'm all for Luigi).

The Luigi one is anachronistic :P Least they could have done is give him a white hat and white overalls.

My Animal Crossing living room looks a lot like my actual living room. Other than the fact that I have leather furniture so I can easily clean the dog hair. I actually don't even have anything hanging on the walls.

Pretty good gifts this year. The last two just sit on a shelf collecting dust. Seems like between the games and the posters there should be something everyone would appreciate.
