So having Alistar headbutt you into a wall, followed by a Vayne slam, followed by Nocturne is kinda rough. My fortify just killed two people at top though. Our jungle yorick isnt too hot though, being 3 levels below their lowest.

I notice that Doublelift, the most famous Blitzcrank player, rushes a Catalyst and then goes to Trinity Force. I imagine he prefers having a strong early game that going for Tear first wouldn't provide. Perhaps it is dependant on who you are matched up against. I play Blitz quite a lot and all I can really say for advice is that if you're up against a half decent opponent who anticipates a grab then don't bother trying to initiate with it, and instead wait until a fight starts and use it to grab those who start to run, or charge into an enemy and then grab when they're closer.

i've noticed that catalyst is used a lot in high level play. after a few nerfs, people stopped using it for awhile, now it is on everyone again for the regen/stats.

going catalyst, boots 1, tri-force would be just fine. you're then set up to grab banshee's. probably depends on how good/bad the enemies are.

The key to Blitz is knowing the range of his hook plus being aware that your mana shield is up and you can stay longer in a fight.

Their cho is tearing us up, but our Leblanc urgot combo are great. Yorick says he loves me.

edit: I think we lose this one. Two dragons smite stolen from us and now Baron. It would be easy to blame Yorick but he actually played really well aside from that. Getting 3 shotted by a stealth Vayne is quite shit.

He first picked Yorick. He was guilty of throwing the game in champ select.

And yes, multiple smite steals is definitely the jungle's fault. Once is understandable, but past that he should have been counterplaying, such as stunning the enemy jungle as the dragon / baron got low. Which he couldn't do, but see point one.

Currently I think my best is Janna, followed by Soraka, but I'm trying to learn how to play Sona too. What can I do to be useful with her late game?

I play mostly support when I'm playing with my friends' pre-made. Those are all pretty much the best supports in the game, Taric is good to learn too. The best way to be useful late game with supports is wards. I seriously spend almost half my money on wards. Get a philo stone + HoG to help you get money and try to never last hit minions unless there is nobody else around to get it. I'll usually build into a Banshees or Frozen Heart depending on the enemy team, possibly a WotA or Starks if my team is heavy on one damage type. But but at least 1 ward every time you go back, usually 3 or 4. Learn good ward placements and just keep vision of the majority of the map for your team. You can counter-ward with an oracles as well if the other team is warding a lot, but in low-mid levels of play just a pink ward at baron and dragon is usually sufficient.

I should definitely spend more of my money on wards. But, what I more mean is that, with Janna and Soraka, I've felt like my skills are still impactful even into the late game. I keep people healed up, mana'd up, knocked up, and slowed down, etc. But with Sona, I'm having trouble figuring out how to, for one, use her ult, and two, build her so that her heal and/or slow are still good in the late game. It looks like her auras will be of negligible value past 30 minutes or so, is that incorrect?

Ah, sorry didn't realize you were talking specifically about Sona. The thing about Sona's heal compared to Soraka's or Janna's shield is the cooldown. It might seem like you're not having as much impact with your heal as Soraka, but remember Sona's heal is coming out like 3 times in the time of one Soraka heal. Just keep spamming your abilities in team fights and it's a lot of healing over time. She also makes a huge impact in a fight if you can get your ult off on 2 or 3 people, especially their carries.

What an unreal week. There's a ridiculous number of trolls out lately.
    7wDlisAd8Y_uA0sJVT2d.jpg

Our Karthus and Veigar are chatting in champ select, continuing what appears to be a previous conversation while the timer ticks down and Veigar has yet to select a champion.

The timer gets to zero and he randoms Veigar.

The game starts and Veigar says, "Crap, spilled milk on my carpet. Brb" and afk's for the first 10 minutes of the game.

I crush Irelia top, Karthus does well mid, and once Veigar returns, they seem to do well bottom.

Then 30 minutes into the game, Karthus says "hurry I gotta go 1 min" and afk's after our next team fight.

We're pushed into their base, they have 1 nexus turret left. We lose a team fight because it's 4v5 but I stop them from pushing.

Then Veigar pulls up a surrender vote. I'm like, are you crazy? We can still win this.

But my favorite part is when the surrender vote passes because even tho Karthus had to go, he was still there to vote yes.

I've literally had an afker, leaver, or flat out feeder in almost every single game for the past week. It's been beyond frustrating.

I played Xin with pro Sona backing me up for one of the weekend game. I went like 17/2 with 30 min surrender. Our lane had ram and MF and we just crushed them. Sona would be poking with her damage spell and while I farmed up. One or both died whenever they charge in to killing Sona. They came back to focus on me but Sona healed me for double kills. Their top came down to switch but same result. The team fights were jokes with her heals and buffs. They really tried hard to kill Sona first but my team wasn't going to allow that ;)

One of the 2 death was totally my fault, I charged into 4 of other team's champs. But Sona dutifully followed me for 2 kills but both of us ended up dead. Her record was 0/2/26. I confessed my love for her and added her to my friend's list right away(I know she is probably a dude).

I think I will buy her when I have enough IP for runes to go along with her.

Hmm. I think I may have found a build for yorick that isnt half bad. Dorans- merc- manamune-frozen mallet- Atmas. Its much cheaper then trying to farm a triforce or IE and has a good balance of stats. If the game is still going after that Sunfire cape and banshees would give you lots of survivability as well as making manamune and atmas hit a bit harder. I think thats they way I will build him once he gets buffed. I added the prices of the items and it comes to around 15k for the whole thing. Thats not TOO bad. I really wish I could know the average amount of gold I end up with per game.

you really don't have any choice but manamune + atmogs/mallet + atmas

if his health was higher that he could get away with triforce first it would be worth it for the damage output but he really doesn't. or if he had the mana costs that he didn't require manamune and you could build nasus style, aegis + triforce

I really wish I could know the average amount of gold I end up with per game.

you really don't have any choice but manamune + atmogs/mallet + atmas

if his health was higher that he could get away with triforce first it would be worth it for the damage output but he really doesn't. or if he had the mana costs that he didn't require manamune and you could build nasus style, aegis + triforce

sadly that really isn't the case

Sadly I agree , I have been trying to force it into the first big item slots for awhile and I just felt so underwhelmed.

I'm hoping that by some act of god they buff his hp per level so I can actually do manamune, triforce, then tank without my instantaneous death
