    How often is Shen Banned in ranked games?

    I'm enjoying him thoroughly. But a friend mentioned that he's oft banned. and if that's the case, I'd rather not play him all that much.

    I rarely see shen banned nowadays, seems most common bans at my elo (around 1400) are amumu, alistar, gp, and tf

    Shen just isn't enough of a threat compared to the "OP" champs in the current meta. People are too busy shitting their pants over TF and Rumble. Despite the nerf, Vayne. There's like a list of 10 people that people ban before Shen nowadays.

    Ya, but the enemy team has to feed you pretty hard to let you get 7.7k in 18 minutes. IE in 14 is certainly reasonable, but that much gold, they were just throwing themselves on your sword.

    shen seems like a cool champ and I sorta want to learn him, but I'm turned off by the fact all feint does iirc is give the already bulky guy a small damage shield and has no other utility. like if that was change to something else I'd be all over him

    edit: I really wish his shield was like lee sins shield, where he zips to a teammate and they get shielded. which would make sense as he's now in position to taunt

    BRING ON THE BUFFS. She's pretty good though. but god the first 3 levels were so rough last game vs. a rumble. Then he could not hurt me while I free farmed and beat him down til he had to B.

    Lost 2 ranked games in a row. Now I'm deep in the 1300s. What the hell. 1405 down to 1318.

    Also, I had one teammate carry over from the first loss which he blamed me for (I admit I didn't do that great as Jarvan as I usually do) so he immediately starts talking shit and bans Jarvan. Yep.

    I am very pleased with my purchase. Though now I need to grind out the right runes for him!

    Lets go best case scenario:

    Champions Earn 1.4g/s.
    You have a TF that bumps every CS by 2.
    2 Dragons

    With 1/19 Minions being Artillery, 9/19 being Melee, and 9/19 being Casters, and a gain of 1g/kill every 5 minutes (and once after the first wave), at 14 minutes you have experienced 3 increases. For the sake of ease, lets just evaluate all minion kills at the 2nd of the three tiers to average it out (in your favor I might add).

    (9/19)*(150)*29= 2061 gold from Melee Minions. (Includes TF's Passive)
    (9/19)*(150)*20= 1421 gold from Caster Minions. (Includes TF's Passive)
    (1/19)*(150)*34= 268 gold from Artillery Minions. (Includes TF's Passive)
    1.4g/s for 16.5 minutes = 1386 Gold.
    2 Dragons = 380 gold (54+ if you got killing blow on both.)

    So excluding Baron, the basic general field of max gold you can generate before Champion Kills and Towers, is 5570. Now, we need to shore up an extra 2200 gold. One kill and two assists isn't getting you there.

    Even tossing in a Baron, the 1g/10 mastery, 3 Avarice Quints, an Avarice, and a Heart of Gold don't get you there.

    Pretty much the only way to do it is forgoing the early IE and just filling your inventory with 5g/10 items.

    And really getting more than a point in E during laning is not so great. Each level is six damage extra per swing. You get 50 per point in Q, plus increased bonus damage.

    E gets increased splash, which doesn't matter at all until you actually want to push lanes hard and you have attack speed. Neither of these are probably happening before level 6. There's marginally decreased cooldown, but that hardly matters until you have other cooldown reduction to back it up.

    Kayle has a ridiculously strong early game, and leveling Q and W is what best allows you to take advantage of it (and E at level 1). Doing it that way also means that you're getting levels in E when you actually benefit from it (building and buying nashor's tooth and rageblade).

    He is so much fun. None of the normal rules apply. And for someone who isn't great at spamming combo's he's a joy to play. Hit Q. Run around. Laugh maniacally. Rinse and repeat. I love tanks that are more than the traditional stand there and get wailed on type of thing.

    The main reason I go E quickly is because it lowers the cooldown of it. Once it gets higher level, with a good build, you can basically always have it up.

    Q and W I use as support skills. Q for the slow and a bit of damage, W for the speed boost and sustainability.

    Maybe its not the best way? But really, if I want to nuke, I'm not playing kayle. I like to lane well, farm well, harass well, and basically be a nuisance to the enemy team all game. And it works for me this way.

    With the new patch E will not lower the cooldown. But the dmg per skill level will improve more. If they keep those changes.

    edit: and i didn't fucking argue and argue. I posted multiple interesting builds that maxed E first. I get E level 1.

    Ooh, math. Lets math it up.

    18 minutes = 33 waves. 99 melee minions, 99 caster minions, 11 cannon minions (209 total). One of the givens is different, gold doesn't increase every 5 minutes, it increases after every 6th wave, IIRC.
    36 melee minions @ 25, 36 @ 26, 24 @ 27. 18 ranged minions @ 16, 18 @ 17, 18 @ 19, 18 @ 20, 18 @ 21, 6 @ 22. 11 cannon minions @ 30. Total of 4593 gold from minions, twisted fate bumps it by 418 to 5011g. You start with 475g, and gain 7gold per 10 seconds naturally for 1386 gold, bringing it to 6872g.

    First blood will give 400g. Two assists will give 70% of 300 on average for 420g. That's 7692g getting us to our goal. Assuming we get silly, his team could have also picked up Baron, two dragons, and, say, five towers for 1430g bunched up. That's 9122g at 18 minutes, without any gold/5.

    Edit: It might be slightly more because of the gold/5 mastery, gold/5 quints, and cannon minions (I can't seem to find how much they increase per level)
    Editx2: Ah, now I realize where priest and I differ. He assumes ~150ish CS, I assume he's pumping out CS like Phreak.

    hehehe, had an awesome game as Singed. I should've joined the Singed bandwagon sooner. Went 9/1/10.

    The best part? At the start of the game I was lagging pretty bad, so I was hanging back a bit so as to not just die because champs would suddenly appear on what was an empty screen and all my commands were a good second behind.

    Well, the Cait I was sharing a lane with figured this was unacceptable and chewed me out, called me useless, telling me I didn't know how to play Singed. I think my score and their surrender speaks for itself. Oh, and Cait's score? 0/6/2. Some peeps really need to learn to chill and give their teammates the benefit of the doubt. 8-)

    Yorick should be substantially better with this patch.

    1 - Slightly better stats all around. Combined with the lowered mana cost on two of his abilities, he should be much less mana-starved in the early game.

    2 - His completely useless passive (tiny improvement to auto-attacks) has been changed into a useful passive (up to 20% damage resistance). And with the extra 5% Health & AD to ghouls, he'll be dealing more damage than he ever did with the old passive as well.

    3 - His best regular ability, Omen of Pestilence, has gotten several nice boosts - increased range, lowered mana cost, improved radius, and improved consistency.

    4 - Ghouls are more powerful. Not drastically so, but slow immunity and AOE protection should both be big helps with the slightly better AD & Health scaling.

    5 - No health decay on his ultimate is huge.

    No health decay on ult?! Goddamn man yes you can get a proper 6v5 rolling instead of a "hold off for 2 shakes while the ghoul diess......now, go in'

    2 - His completely useless passive (tiny improvement to auto-attacks) has been changed into a useful passive (up to 20% damage resistance). And with the extra 5% Health & AD to ghouls, he'll be dealing more damage than he ever did with the old passive as well.

    Actually...

    That damage resistance IN ADDITION to auto-attack increase... nomnomnom.
