Eh, I'll get over it. The only thing I actually want right now are the DoW 2 Expansions. I'm ashamed to admit it but the only games I play these days are SC2 and Minecraft.
I put them in my steam list to appease the Newell, please don't beat me.
I'd be kind of glad if there wasn't, I need to save money. If there is, though, I know I wont be able to. My self-restraint when it comes to cheap games is pretty much on the same threshold as stopping my heartbeat.
I've just ordered a joystick as well as buying Evochron Mercs last night. I have nothing for a sale so hopefully there isn't one
I bought that on Impulse last week. Other than the tutorial I haven't played much. It looked, ran, and handled great though. Like X3 though, the immense sandbox-iness is both what draws me in as well as hinders me from getting truly started.

Yeah I spotted it on sale on gamergate last week, Shit I even notified Drake and a few others about it
I didn't get it myself though since I figured I'm not to big on space sims. Then I played the demo and wanted it but I had no joystick and figured it'd end up being too costly, especially with the sale coming (we thought it was gonna start on the 24th remember). And then last night Pabh and Drake bullied me into buying it. I'm holding them responsible for whatever happens should a summer sale come along. :P

Hell, seems you barely have time to play the games you already own. :P
Sorry, since our debate in that other thread I can't help but notice your time in DNF hasn't moved in, like, a week. Non-steam game eating up your time, busy with life or is it just really just not that good on further inspection?

Considering I own some odd... 306 games on Steam, and DNF is probably the one with the 4th or so most playtime behind Divinity II, Audiosurf and Borderlands... I'd say its more just a very strong indication of my inability to play anything with any amount of dedication.
Assuming we get some great deals in the near future...having never played Dawn of War or the sequel, what should I be picking up if I wanted to try some out?
(I was going to ask the same thing about Total War, but I recall that being asked earlier, and someone saying to just go with Shogun 2.)

Dawn of War 1 is a more traditional RTS all around, I've heard that it is an excellent RTS, but I have yet to sit down with it because frankly speaking I'm not very good at them.
Dawn of War 2's single player is more like a CRPG where you control four hero "squads", the multiplayer is straight up RTS, and then it has Last Stand which is you and two other people control a single unit each and fight waves of enemies.
I've been absolutely loving the single player campaign in vanilla Dawn of War 2 and Chaos Rising, and I've been dying to get into some Last Stand sometime. I've been told the single player campaign in Retribution differs a bit from vanilla and CR, but I haven't started it just yet so I don't know exactly how yet.
EDIT: Looking at it now, I've sunk 33 hours into just the single player Dawn of War 2 + Chaos Rising, and I'm going back for a second play through of Chaos Rising before moving onto Retribution.
I kind of hope a summer sale doesn't start until next Monday as I will be backpacking and away from all forms of technology this weekend. How will I survive?

You're probably going to have to drink your own piss, if the internet is any judge.

Figgy's Pre-Sale Giveaway!
Sorry for the delay! I went straight to bed after getting home from my mother-in-law's last night. Here are the results!
Magicka: TheCanMan
Super Meat Boy: Professor Snugglesworth
Portal: No one!
Monday Night Combat: heenato and RandomHajile
Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That: skutskut
EU III Chronicles: Alegis
Sadly, no one seemed to want Portal, except for those who thought it was Portal 2 or Assassin's Creed. If anyone does want Portal, speak up! I have over 100 people on my friends list and I think two don't have it.
HA I warned my wife that the summer sale should be upon us soon. she just sighed reminded me that we are buying another a house in the near future and to not go overboard. I refrained from asking how she defined overboard, I presume she will enlighten me when I get close...

It is known.
Drinking my own piss is only an option if I run out of iodine tablets, which is NOT going to happen.

I need Alegis and heenato to add me on Steam. My profile is in my sig.
so is there a strong PA magicka community still? seems like they are still pushing out regular updates. I was originally tempted when it first came out but held off for other things. if they have a pack of it in a sale, i might be tempted
I've still got two copies of Portal, I was surprised to even be able to get rid of one of them during my recent give away.
Portal makes a great starter for new Steam members. I hooked my girlfriend and mother up with Steam and started them off with Portal apiece (had a pair from ordering the Portal 2 two pack). Trying to find a regular user who doesn't have it from it being free or the Orange Box or some other avenue is indeed futile, but it makes a fantastic way to introduce people to the service.

So, just started playing Half-Life 2, and am really enjoying it so far. Though I did just die to accidentally shooting an explosive barrel while in an area with no health packs and then walking out to be riddled with bullets by a helicopter. I am spoiled by regenerating health, I think.

I think we've reached the point where everyone who might be possibly interested in playing Portal has already purchased it. I've yet to see someone giving away multiple copies actually get rid of all of them.
@Figgy
I didn't cast a ballot as my crappy PC forces me to be a lurker/drooler in this thread. I also feel guilty over the lack of time I've been able to dedicate to the lovely gift received from that classy gent formerly known as CarbonFire. That being said if Portal is really burning a hole in your Steam account I'd be more than willing to take that burden away from you ;-)

There has only been a summer sale on Steam once before. It was last year and now everyone is expecting them to repeat that.
But at the very least, there is going to be some manner of summer "event"
Maybe this year it will be some kind of Christmas in July or w/e.

Congrats, winners!
thanks figment, classiest of the classy gentlemen!
conversely does it have a singleplayer option?
You can play magicka in SP but it isn;t recommended, half the fun is killing each other by accident. I have yet to complete my magicka campaign
Edit: Also, great contest Fig. Thanks again, and congrats to all the winners.
