Only melee weapon that can face the Axetinguisher in usefulness and provides the ability to run away from sticky situations, exactly the situations Pyros must enter to be effective.
edit: I have a strange soldiers shotgun I would gladly trade for something that doesn't replace the buff banner, which is arguably (meh, easily) the best AOE weapon thus far.
The shotgun is the best strange weapon because four classes can use it.
Better than HONC's terrible medic crew. I complained one round, got told to change to Medic and heal in response. Then I went MVP as medic.
I hate when I play medic (I main medic and pyro) and people are like "Oh, medic points are bullshit" but then when you don't play medic people are complaining about the lack of medics.
There's this bizarre dichotomy where a Heavy without a Medic is free points
Ehhhhhhhhhhh...
I would say this has never ever been the case, and even if some felt it were at the game's release, it absolutely hasn't been the case since the April 28th patch where they buffed the spin-up and movement speed while spun-up.
Agreed, as a pyro a skilled heavy is an absolute pain in the ass to kill. They have more health than you, can do more damage than you, and unless they are terrible or distracted they are going to eat you alive. Then you toss a medic on them and it just gets ludicrous. Medics are already a major pain for pyros to kill, especially when they are following around a heavy who you now cannot effectively kill unless they are really terrible. The tomislav pretty much gives heavy the playstyle of a slow pyro, only it also works at range. Plus you have the heavies additional health, more damage at close range, and medics who want to follow you as opposed to ignore you.
Sure you are easier to shoot at range as a heavy except you get gloves that reduce ranged damage, and an unlock to heal yourself. Neither of which cause you to lose something vital to making your class work. The pyro on the other hand needs his melee and secondary unlocks just to function at all, and I think that is a problem that should have been fixed 4 years ago.
Yeah, Pyro is one of the classes that I wouldn't say makes short work of a Heavy. And I will also admit to a bit of hyperbole in the statement above.
I think it comes down to this: as Endaro and Enders usually say, doing well as Heavy means maintaining situational awareness and controlling your engagements. The trick is that that principle works in reverse, as well. The Heavy moves slow as hell spun up and is a huge target. Soldiers and Demomen can whittle him down with splash damage around corners and use explosive jumping to get into strange spots to attack him from, Scouts can zip in, fire, and be around a corner before he's finished spinning, Snipers don't attack from anywhere near him, Spies can use their cloak to wait for his attention to be elsewhere, etc. etc.. The Heavy has no similar tricks, especially when the game came out (no Sandvich, no GRU, no FoS). That's why I think the Heavy is (or at least was) in pretty rough shape when alone. Anyone can compete on the "choose your battles wisely" axis, and a lot of classes have better tools to do that with.

Good. Maybe it won't take long for me to get a weapon I use in trade.

Someone was asking for mine the other night, but I don't think it was a PA regular, it was on HONC, and I didn't recognize their name. I love the shotgun so I refused them.
But I think you better unload it fast.. I've seen a lot of them put up for trade. If you wait too long the value will plummet.
So I tried installing this on a new computer and I'm getting "This game is unavailable. Please try again later." whenever I try to run it. I already tried deleting ClientRegistry.blob to no avail. Anyone know how to deal with this?
edit: and now I'm not even getting an error message, the game just won't open. It'll say "preparing to launch Team Fortress 2" and then the window will just go away, like Steam forgot what it was doing or something.
Then I can immediately earn them in the next game, I guess
Well, you have to unbox these because they're "strange," so you won't get them on the drop. Why can't I just buy the Strange Direct Hit? Why must I play Valve's version of roulette and "hope" to get it?

I think it's funny that their goal with the Sandvich was to make solo heavies better while not improving the Heavy/Medic synergy. And yet all the lunchbox items act a health kit for the medic if needed.

Yeah, if their goal was to avoid improving the heavy/medic combo, making the Sandvich a droppable mini health kit wasn't exactly the most inspired idea.

Most people have caught on that crates are worthless shit that you pay $2.50 to open. Unusual hats are all anyone wanted out of them, which has something like a 1 in 100 chance of happening.
By putting strange weapons in crates, suddenly keys are interesting again. By perusing trade forums, there's a lot of demand for the weapons.

The Dalokhs Bar can't be thrown.
And neither could the Sandvich, back in the day.
Yes, the good ol' days.
Well, not totally good. I like hauling buildings as an engineer.

I'm surprised that the Bar can't be tossed.
And now you know why very few Heavies are seen with it.
I've just realised what this demo shit is like. It's like wavedashing in smash bros melee. I refuse to believe this surfing at double scout speed around the map non-stop was intended behaviour. Also, why the fuck does the melee swing become a crit at any range? You can literally swing as soon as the charge starts and it crits.

What weapon are you looking for?
Of the strange weapons I guess I use the rocket launcher most so that would be the ideal one.
Had an offer for the strange notSasha so I'll do that in a couple of days if nothing I want comes up.
So, I just had an insane idea for a Revolver unlock for the Spy.
The Pistolet Rasa.
It's a revolver that deals absolutely no damage. However, when you fire the harmless, invisible bullets, you don't lose your disguise. Instead, it appears as if your disguise fires whatever weapon it has equipped.
That includes melee weapons and stuff like the Flamethrower (hold the fire button to appear to continuously flame).
So you could either fire periodically to complete your disguise, or be especially cruel by stabbing someone right after you "spycheck" them.

Yeah I think so.
Yeah the demo charge is pretty BS, if they get to keep that I want a pistol that shoots rockets/grenades for my scout.

can you believe that that's all they'd have to do
that one little thing
it'd be so easy
but I guess robin walker is a burn victim or something sooo

I do. You wouldn't happen to have the new sniper gun, or the Bushwaka for trade, would you? Or just a bit of scrap would do, too.
I hate when I play medic (I main medic and pyro) and people are like "Oh, medic points are bullshit" but then when you don't play medic people are complaining about the lack of medics.
I have some scrap, but sorry, don't have the other items. What's your STEAM ID?

It just never happens unless they're not paying attention to you.

also i wonder if they get like
particle effects once you get a ton of kills on them?
They lose their kill count when traded.
And thanks Valve, I now have two Strange Pain Trains. I'd like my $5 back.

Killing snipers with the flare gun is up there pretty high as well.
