Watched Tangled last night because it popped up on Netflix and I had heard good things.
It was entertaining enough, I just wish that A) somebody had warned me it was a musical, because I always find musical numbers mildly annoying and there were fewer instances of...for lack of a better description...'smugface', like everyone is just a little too hip and cool to totally buy into the proceedings.
Welcome to Dreamworks.
....also Pixar, apparently.
That poster has to be a deliberate dig at Dreamworks.

Fun fact!: Toy Story was originally only a working title "let's make a toystory or something like that..."
Also, smug faces: I just realised today that Patrick Bateman was on Christian Bales account based upon Tom Cruise - watching the movie again I really can't see nothing but a murdering Tom Cruise.
Went down to the bicycle shop this morning and picked up the Bad Boy that I posted before. It's a pretty sweet bike. Can't wait to take it for a proper test ride after work today.

I might have agreed with that, if he stopped being Bond after Goldeneye. It's hard to give a definitive answer, because I find it hard to separate the actor totally from the films they are in, and they've all been in some awful films (remember when one movie had a plot point revolving around Sean Connery pretending to be a Japanese man?).
I'd nominate Martin Campbell for best Bond director, though. I don't know why they don't just get him to direct all Bond movies until the day he dies, really.

This is my feeling. I like Brosnan for how he portrays the character, but after goldeneye the films were so terrible that it's hard to get on board.
Conversely, I like the Craig films a lot and I like him a lot as a lead in them - but he's not really Bond. Not smarmy enough, frankly.
Hmm, yeah, his movies were none too good after Goldeneye. But still, I think he fit the role better than any of the others.
Yeah, Craig is too cold and brutal and not ridiculous enough. He still plays a good lead, it's just not traditional 007- same as RDJ as Sherlock Holmes.

RDJ as sherlock is pretty good, but its just not Sherlock, really. I mean it is, but it's not, yknow? But it's still good. Benedict Cumberbatch is forever sherlock in my mind now
Basically no Sherlock portrayal has ever been my ideal of Sherlock
not Basil Rathbone, not RDJ, not Benedict Cumberbatch, and not even (though I initially thought otherwise) Jeremy Brett
though they all (except RDJ) come close in their own ways
if you could somehow make an actor look like Basil Rathbone and act like Jeremy Brett minus the flamboyance, that would probably be it

no I agree I love RDJ's Sherlock and I love the whole vibe of the movies, but if you were a sherlock purist then I think you could get pretty irritated because he's not him. Cumberbatch plays him much closer to the canon.
They both poop all over Jeremy Brett, mind you. But that's more the fault of the writers and directors. My god that was some campy bullshit. (I accidentally bought the complete Jeremy Brett set off amazon because I thought it was the Basil Rathbone series. Watson was fat and avuncular and useless, Brett was effete as all get-out, and the direction was something out of a B-grade horror movie - vastly entertaining, but absolutely awful).
now on the subject pf sleuth portrayal
there is not yet a person born nor will there ever be
one who plays Hercule Poirot as perfectly as David Suchet
not one goddamn person
the illusion is so robust that in interviews with Suchet, I get the impression that he's the fictional character
Most definitely dear Tamgood!
No one can replace him, he really is sublime.
Also, I've always imagined Sherlock looking a bit like Jeremy Brett but not acting like it (definitely too much flamboyancy).
it's his face
it's a stupid as hell reason
but that's what it is
he just looks like a befuddled, miserable Brit
Martin Freeman could play the heroest of heros
but he doesn't look the part by popular standards

I hope he actually gets to do some non-bumbling stuff in the second series.
So far he's been Wilson to Sherlock's Dr. House, with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions.

I know I've seen him do it (in the mask I think) but this is the closest i could find.
YES!

Though to be fair, I believe it was his look first.

I'm quoting myself!
I think Pierce Brosnan's might be my favorite Bond
Whose do y'all dudes like?

Poor ol' jeremy brett. He deserved better.
O'Toole should perhaps have played Peter Wimsey, but Sherlock isn't really his style.
