So my girlfriend and I will be in Montreal between July 28th to the 31st. We'll be spending one day, the Saturday, enjoying the Osheaga music festival but other then that we have no idea of what to do while we're there. Neither of us have ever been to Montreal so we're rather in the dark here, we've looked at a few touristy sites and saw the usual recommendations, museums and the such.
However I would greatly appreciate any recommendations from either any of the locals who post on this forum or people have been there before. We're both students so nothing too pricey but we do have some decent money saved up for enjoying the city. We'll also be celebrating a four year anniversary while we're there so any great restaurant ideas would be fantastic and if it's a sushi place then even better.
We'd appreciate any and all suggestions and thanks in advance.

i went past summer, touristing there with my wife.
What i remember:
Rue ST. Denis was a bit of a hipster area with some nice shops and a relaxed vibe
walking up the zigzag road to the top of Mont Royal (or halfway there, atleast). Great break from the city, nice view, and fun with squirrels.
i'm having some difficulty remembering the rest, but these kinda stuck out for me.

If you like nature, go to the Botanical Garden. They have great greenhouses and the outdoor gardens are beautiful. The Montreal Science Centre is having an Indiana Jones exhibition if you're into that.
I don't know any sushi place in Montreal, but Le Fourquet-Fourchette is very good. It's New France era inspired cuisine with local beer in almost every meal/sauce. Quite an experience!

And if you like the beer, take a tour of Unibroue.
