Yeah, that is the best way to make money. But it is not my idea of a "good gaming experience" to spend my hours watching a silly little robot skitter across the landscape. I can't even really read a book while I do it, because I need to navigate terrain. At least in Eve if I did something that boring and such a huge waste of time, I could read while auto-pilot moved me. Mining is the best way to make money I feel, since it kind of engages you. But the hassle of running back and forth to base to make 5k every 20 minutes is...yikes.

And Avynte, I even had access to the full market and the player prices are all above the seeded market items. Re-arming is dumb.

Wouldn't it be feasible to do crafting instead of missioning to fix the price situation?

It sounds like there's a rather drastic lack of supply in game, which is driving the market equilibrium point up to unacceptable levels. More people crafting would fix this.

... Jesus christ, am I actually learning something from this Econ 202 class? Kill me now.

Yeah that would definetly fix it, but most established corps keep all the stuff they mine in-corp to supply their own pvp habits atm. And without good relations and skills you might be producing at a loss. But having a production & mining char I'll look into it. I think I will start attacking the T1 mining scanner market, because I had to buy 1 for 84k nic, that seems to be quite steep for a t1 item.

Well if most corps do one thing, why doesn't PA make a corp and do THE OPPOSITE?

It's more complicated then that too. In order to craft you have to buy/acquire these "Kernal" things that give you a "Knowledge base" so you can build things. So you can't just pick up a blueprint or something and start building some ammo on the spot if you don't mine some losses but want to do it yourself. Instead you have to go around buying these Kernals which can be quite expensive, then you can gain the ability to make something.

The crafting system is not only boring as hell, but it's also needlessly complicated. If I can't just start building some basic ammo to be self sufficient, there's a problem with the system.

At least this is my understanding. I did not delve to deep into crafting.

Hmm I think that is voor t2-t4 items. Get a kernel and prototype it.
You can also reverse engineer items with a codebreaker and get a limited run 'BP'.
There are no BPO type things in the game.

Server issues fixed. Subscribers and trail accounts get 4 days extra.

I don't see anywhere to set up a trail account.

Or do all new accounts automatically get a trial?

    Does this game have mining?

I had to leave EvE because they made mining too hard. If this game has easy mining I'd be all for trying it out.

er, yes, this game has mining. The mining and industry is literally copy/pasted from EVE.

    Well, maybe a little streamlined.

If you join any decent corp you should get the bot and fittings for mining from them for free. I joined The Older Gamers and they gave me a Termis (Mining mech) and the gear to fit it and away I went mining, mostly danger-free.

Mining in Perpetuum is kind of boring and very lucrative. Most of the minerals can be found all over the place, but one is only found on the Beta (or lowsec) islands. It of course commands a price premium but new players don't need to worry about mining it. It's really more for corp ops with dedicated escorts and haulers to mine it effectively.

Ohh, the game looks kinda cool.

So apparently there's been a huge new patch, adding all kinds of terrain capture and hold mechanics?

It's called Intrusion, and it looks pretty cool.

Is anyone here still playing this or interested in giving it a try at some point?

Add Gamma Frontier to the list of Perpetuum expansions, as of last month. Includes player built towns and terraforming.

Going F2P in April, to celebrate getting on Steam.

F2P plus the EVE real time skill up system? Weird.

    It's not going F2P It's going B2P.

If you haven't subscribed for 3 months straight you need to buy in at the new box price for the game, which is about $30, to be able to play it.

    Mostly just huntin' monsters.

I couldn't be bothered to pay $15 to play for 30 days. Not going to pay $30 to play either!

What is this I don't even.
