Are... are you kidding me? Benedictus as a final boss?

They're pulling a Star Trek now and just making shit up as they go along.

Benedictus is The Twilight Father, as per the book that came out about a month or two ago.

You'll also be afforded the opportunity for all-new epic loot, including new dungeon sets.
    :o
While these sets aren't broken down by class and contain no set bonuses, they offer cohesive aesthetic looks for each armor type: cloth, leather, mail, and plate. These set pieces can be taken from the grasps of defeated bosses in each of the new Heroic dungeons.
    :(

Instead of straight up nerfing normal raids/heroic raids just have an npc stand outside all the raid entrances (or right inside, if that is possible) and give him an option of giving the entire raid a 'buff'(that has no duration and can't be normally canceled and persists threw death) to help in the coming fight, say % increase to damage/heal/whatever... so similar to the WotLK's final raid but optional, so the people who want to keep going at the current difficulty can...

    ta-da!, everyone is (mostly)happy!

Theres so much more wrong, too. Like the tank legendary being too specific.

Appended. WoW's devs and designers have a pretty clear horde bias, cuz deyz all trolls.

Heh, that would be hilarious. Especially after they just got around to replacing him.

Also, I still need to kill Malygos. :P

Why not just take the Dragon Soul before it gets used? Or you know, just bust a cap in Deathwing in the past? Enough stuff gets retconned already. Why not take care of him and then return to the present of a non-Cataclysmed Azeroth? :P

That's basically the same choice we faced in the black morass CoT instance. The infinite flight guys are all "hey, we can kill medivh and stop the orc invasion! Everyone won't die! Isn't that awesome?"

And predictably, we proceed to slaughter them because they have loot we want.

The answer is (apparently) that the consequences of mucking with the timeline are much worse than just letting whatever fucked up shit happen that's going to happen and dealing with it for real (although this apparently wasn't the case when the bronze flight sent us back in time to kill archimonde, so.)

I still have a problem with that. The bastard wouldn't die to combined armies of humans, orcs and night elves which included the Dream Team of heroes, and then 25 random guys manage to kill him like a chump.

No no, see, we only brought him down to 10%.

Then we were "powered up" by the wisps and killed him like a chump.

See that way they still have an excuse not to make us into ultimate immortal kings of the world.

e: From a political perspective, anyways.

The dungeons look neat but still I am very disapointed in the fact they want to continue to draw that line between raiders and others like it was in vanilla.

THe LFR really should be a 10 class specfic run because with rogues, hunters, mages and warlocks are pure dps, Paladins and Druids are all three {healer, tank,Dps} Warriors and Death knights are dps/tanks and priests shamans are dps/healers and that's 10!
As with 25 man you have No idea what you are going to get and with so many people continuing to cheat the system saying they are a healer/tank just for the instant que is just calling for problems

It's about as big as the ICC patch, isn't it? Fewer bosses, but hopefully the instances themselves make up for it.

Bleak, desolate future instance sounds cool, but it looks like they could pretty much use the same gauntlet there as the third dungeon. The reveal's also a bit of a facepalm moment.

War of the Ancients is about time, but it's not quite the level of exposure to the event as expected. Least they're making an effort to introduce Azshara, though they make her sound like a gauntlet boss.

    Third dungeon sounds dumb.

Raid itself is less exciting than initially announced; sorta hoped they'd have Deathwing as a constant looming threat, but it looks like he just comes in at the end.

So who's the big involved faction that raiders will be farming rep for? Something to do with the Aspects, I assume?

  • DacDac Registered User regular
Aspects of Loot, great rulers of who gives a fuck about that, no one, the lore is stupid and we just want our epics.

Perma death would kinda suck in WoW.

Well, not really, but if they just kinda surprised the player base with it one day holy shit that'd be awesome and terrible at the same time.

Most people would be stuck somewhere in the pre 10's to 20 before they died and started all over again

I died on my hunter at least 20 times before I got a pet and I don't I did again till level 60 something

    Yeah

Imagine the high end guilds, prepping to do Deathwing and on their 55th attempt, just as they're at their sub 15 percent tries

"Surprise you die for keeps now!"

And they would never set foot outside of Orgrimmar again.

Quick notes for Hordeside Brewfest stuff:
-There doesn't seem to be any apple buckets in org so when you're on the barking daily don't gallop. Once you finish the fourth one mount up to fly and turn in the quest before the time runs out. Go counterclockwise through Org so you're closer to the brewfest area when you get to the point you can mount up.
-The goblin for the fetch-the-keg quest is now down the path east towards the sea (where the old UC/STV zepp tower was). The quest text wasn't updated and still refers to his old location. It seems to be a shorter path than the previous one since I got 18 on my first try while I was still feeling out the best path.
-For the whip-powered ram mounts, there doesn't seem to be a way to get the buff again outside of dropping and reaccepting the quest. As such be very careful to not cast a spell by accident and knock yourself off of the mount (or be shapeshifted when accepting the quest and have it fail to apply the mount buff) cause if you do it with the infinite one then you're SOL for the day.
-There's a new item in the store: a Pony Keg pet (it's a pony with a keg on its back I presume) for 200 coins. You'll easily be able to get over 100 coins today from doing all of the one off quests and all the dailies, so it'll be 3 more days of dailies to get that if you already have everything else.
-There's no longer a menu option to turn off drunk glow. The only way to do it now is via entering "/console ffxGlow 0" into chat.

That said, Direbrew is up and I managed to get my 6 85s (ugh) through him, nothing special from the one a day keg, my mage got the shanker (instead of my rogue who needs it.) My rogue did get the AP trinket, and my priest got the healing trinket so far. I still need the healing trinket on my Shaman, but still, not bad for the first day.

The fight itself is ridiculously easy. Our best time according to DBM was 26 seconds, we did a total of 20-25 runs I think after everyone switched to their alts and everything.

Oh yeah, and each person gets about 20G per kill... I'm kind of expecting that to get nerfed.

Well I was able to do Direbrew on many of my alts since most of them ate level 84
I did get kicked and bitched at a lot of showing up as them

I "Stole" the black brewmadien charm on my warrior from a guild run so take that!

I really do wonder who tests the holiday events and with what because I really do think it's with a generic human because taurens don't fit in a lot of the places the apple buckets are
Other than getting the pet on my alts and the pony itself I don't know what else I will do this event

Because Sargeras was going to die anyways, and the Orcs were redeemed as a byproduct of crossing into Azeroth. It's not like Medivh ultimately survived, so Azeroth would have had to deal with some other double-pronged Orc + Scourge invasion or something.

The simplest answer is that the known is less frightening than the unknown. It's really easy to say "Oh, I would have stopped Nazi Germany if I could go back time." because the Holocaust and World War II were obvious Bad Things, but they were also Important Things that have shaped everything following. And while we may be uncomfortable admitting it, those things didn't doom us. We're not significantly worse off in the long run for having those things occurred. So, by altering those events, you risk making things worse. Sure you also risk making things better, but if things are okay now, why take the risk?

And, at the time of TBC, things were going well with the Burning Legion routed and things hunky-dory enough to turn attentions to a whole other world.

Hyjal is a bad thing to use for comparison because they just abandoned the entire infinite storyline mid-GAME. Like, the attunement quest mentions the infinite flight and yet the raid itself makes no mention. I'd go so far as to say that Hyjal, as a raid, never happened. At best, you can say it's a history lesson courtesy of the bronze flight.

Man people will bitch about everything these days. The brew boss is as easy as it gets. So you kill it 10 sec slower with an 84... So what?

I bit the bullet and watched the rag fight on heroic. That fight will ruin pugs unless they nerf the holy hell out of it. Even then if they keep it along the same difficulty as rag is now on normal it will still destroy heroic babies.

Yeah, LFR is actually creating a THIRD difficulty that will basically make it a Tourism Mode.

    Or, I hope it will.

    YL9WnCY.png
  • Doctor DetroitDoctor Detroit Registered User regular
But yet, the LFR will allow you to get T13...just a lower ilvl version.
Keep in mind we do intend to allow tier 13 set pieces to drop for those using the upcoming Raid Finder. Similar to the difference between normal and Heroic versions of tier sets, the Raid Finder set will have a lower item level than the normal and Heroic counterparts.

Set pieces from all three difficulty levels can still be mixed and matched for the two and four-piece bonuses.

Thats the only way I can see LFR working - make it comparable to five man difficulty. Anything more and it will likely be a failure.

They haven't decided but it will probably be seperate from the normal raid lockout. I do wonder how LFR lockouts might work though - I mean, what if your group just sucks ass and only gets the first boss down? How do you queue up again after that if you're saved to that?

Direbrew is pretty good money. 20g per kill, zero travel time, fast queues, fast fight.

Also, not one person commented on me being 84, so that's something.

There was this pretty big dick restoshaman. He ninjaed the tanking trinket because "if the tank gets it he leaves", we couldn't kick him so queued up anyway (fast kill, so who cares), he does it again (guess he deleted the old trinket), queue up again, healer trinket drops, he gets it and leaves.

  • StericaSterica Yes Registered User, Moderator mod
Easy solution is to make it so that each boss you've killed that week is basically considered tagged by someone else if you repeat it. No gold, rep, loot or anything.
