preacher - i finished dead money
    eff. that. vault.

the platforming stuff was annoying and a few of the rooms took me like 20 tries to make it through.

for the end I dropped everything with weight but my stealth suit, automatic rifle and holorifle and picked up as many of the gold bars as i could carry (only 4 or 5, i am low STR)

then i just snuck out to the left and kept going and walked back through the vault. i got back to the entrance just as he locked himself in (I'm assuming through accessing the "personal log" file?) so i avoided the whole timed platforming thing, thank god

i forgot to get the snowglobe but oh well

where's the best place to sell my gold bars?

Of course people have benefitted from lying about rape. A girl getting caught with a black farmhand in the old south, for example.

Also, when people say stuff like "confront your fears" I keep thinking "why would I do this?"

I used to be terrified of heights such that going out for drinks on a rooftop bar or if there was a party and I had to smoke on the terrace, I would get chest pains.

I confronted my fear by jumping out of a fucking plane. This isn't an issue for me anymore.

See, that was different for me. Skydiving doesn't give you a frame of reference as to how high you are. For me, 7000ft is the same as 16,000ft, you know? And the worst part, for me, is the 5 or so minutes after takeoff, where you can still judge the distance.

But yeah, after 4 jumps, heights still freak me out a little bit. Also skydiving is goddamn fantastical.

Yeah the vault is the real killer, as I said, without it DM could be considered an overall pleasant experience, but with the vault it really drags down the overall. Best place to sell the gold is a vendor where you're idolized, thats really it. So if you're ncr the damn person would be best because he stocks the most stuff.

The accuser has repeatedly lied to prosecutors, is linked to major crime figures including strong evidence of money laundering and there's a recorded conversation with an inmate on "how to deal" with the politician.

So we basically have the word of someone with little credibility in a situation where one can see many potential benefits from lying providing the sole basis for a criminal complaint. The reaction to this should not be to presume guilt.

Has lying about a rape ever benefitted anyone?

i'm not really sure of what you mean by the question. 'benefit' is a tenuous word. my guess is that a person who would invent a violent and traumatic attack (towards any end) is probably mentally ill.

Pants is the one who cited "many potential benefits from lying." I just couldn't see how, if at all, this woman is better off after having gone public with her claims.
There's literally a recorded phone conversation where she discusses the financial benefits of the accusation.

It occurs to me that discussing the potential financial gain from an accusation doesn't logically imply that the accusation is untrue

This is what is sticking me in the whole mess- If I was about to accuse some billionaire dude of like, assault, I would probably wonder how much I could get out of it as well even if he really assaulted me.

It doesn't make her a liar, it just makes her a little bit less moral than we expect

Might want to hold on to it for a bit, store them at a hotel room of yours until your barter is higher, or just sell them. Making caps is hella easy, if you have a high luck you can roll every casino at blackjack.

This is true. But she has also lied to the prosecutors about being raped before. As in she said she was raped in her native country and that her genitals were mutilated there and that it was on her asylum application. Then they went, wait its not on the application and your genitals aren't mutilated. And she admitted to lying about it.

And she's got hundreds of thousands of dollars completely unaccounted for - this is an immigrant maid - that scream drugs and/or money laundering.

Even the prosecution is backing down pretty hard even though its going to destroy some of their careers.

Honestly I'm all for protecting rape victims but its annoying how some people don't believe in the presumption of innocence once a sex crime is involved.

Dude was released on his own recognizance today because the prosecution came forward that there were major problems with the case.

Its not in the prosecutions best political interests to do this. They end up looking like assholes to everyone for either jumping to conclusions to prosecute or for not prosecuting hard enough.

DM is very like it or hate it, some people love it for the atmosphere and difficulty and forgive its flaws, others can't see past the flaws but still admit the atmosphere and story is pretty engrossing.

HH is a bit short, but I loved the enviroment and there is a cool story/vibe going on there + you get some kick ass items out of it.

Both expansions up the level cap and have some pretty fucking sweet perks added as well (hh adds grunt amongst others, for DM its the light armor crit chance).
