Hey everyone, what are some of your favorite independent games that you've ever played?
Personally, for me its definitely Savage, but I also love small games like armdaillo run and what not. Anyways, I always love to hear about what other people are into and pick up lesser known games when I have the chance, and since they aren't getting much in the way o advertising, I need to hear about it here.
Phoenix wright doesn't get advertised, but is published by capcom. You should still buy it. In fact, buy 3. and then 8 more. Fill your house with copies. Bathe in it. Always have phoenix with you.
I'll get in Cave Story before anyone else says it. A lot of roguelikes and freeware RPGs as well. A lot of solid talent out there that isn't being utilized nearly enough. There was a brief period I played nothing but Nethack for like six months. Good six months passed I'll admit.
Cave Story is ace though.

Origin is the exact same as my Steam, in case you're needing a Support or Assault in BF3.
The last part of the John DeFoe quadrilogy, 6 Days a Sacrifice, has recently been released. All four parts are excellent horror, point and click adventure games. Best played at night with the lights out.
N is a fine little physics platformer.
Agreement on Cave Story.
Not nearly enough people have tried megaman-esque Noitu Love and the Army of Grinning Darns.
I'm keeping close eyes on Aquaria and Braid when they're finally released.

Notrium is a unique title, and amazingly difficult at the start, but it's grown on me quite a bit. Basically, your ship goes down on an uncharted planet and you have to find a way off - which involves gathering food, jury-rigging weapons out of junk parts, staying warm at night and cool during the day, and ultimately surviving long enough to build or find something that'll help you escape.
Qwak was awesome on the Amiga, but is marginally less so on the GBA. Frontal Assault for the Amiga is/was the definitive "Scorched Earth" clone of its time, too.
