So its midnight and I just got home drunk since I went out for a "few" beers with my work pals at 5 pm. The first thing I do? Check Steam, immediately buy KOTOR (which I finished 2 times already) and The Heroes Pack (which I´m not even sure which games it includes).
Then I check the activities for today and decide it´s a good enough time to get burned and jump into the water in 2fort. The SpaceChem activity I will do tomorrow while I´m in post-grad class, for which I need to wake up in 6 hours, since I take the laptop to class anyway and I will be thinking better tomorrow...
I serve the Newell...

Well that was easy, guess I need to get some sleep now...
Man, I really wish I could sort my Steam friends list, cause I end up adding all sorts of PA people and I can never remember why I added them. Or at least have a note option like WoW or something.
Also, feel free to send me some friend invites if you want.
Kalia is still being generous with the Valve stuffs, sent me Half-Life, thank you! I've owned HL2 for a while, but never really did much simply because my personality demanded I play the first game, and now I can.

I'll echo this. I've always been awful at keeping track of friends lists, no matter where. I never reject invites from PA people, but for future reference if anyone does choose to spontaneously friend request me on Steam: please don't be offended if I don't know/forget who you are.

Gifting is indeed addictive! Although, really, I had it sitting around for free, so my generosity ranks below those actually spending real world dollars rather than just having driven themselves crazy tracking down potatoes.

This was my favorite game on the Atari 800. Which I still have (and need to fix the keyboard for. Can't play it without the keyboard.) So I'm looking at the reviews for it, and they're all complaining about the monotony of the game and how there isn't a lot of variation in the missions. I can't help but laugh and think to myself: Boy, did you never play the original.
Wait, was that the game where you flew endlessly in space? Or did I just REALLY not understand that game when I was young?
Yes...sort of. Did you have the manual? You actually had to use the keyboard for it...there was a whole grid of sectors to explore, and the enemies and starbases were places you had to hyperspace to. If you were playing on the harder modes, things could get a little tense as your ship would take damage even through the shields very easily (and one unshielded hit would kill you).
I don't know when it happened but somewhere along the line (started with left for dead) I went from being someone who looked enviously at the valve pack to someone who only needs, portal 2 and a few odds and ends from half-life 1 engine based game.
Newell be praised.
EDIT: I just realized something. I think I'm gifting more because I've been getting gifted more. I've spend $15 on my self for BTTF and KoToR. every other game I've gotten has been some type of trade or gift, leaving me a bit of extra money here and there. It's like the newell knows he's getting that money either way
Hmm...Alien breed 2 seems to have the same achievements as the one listed for the tickets. Has any redeemed it as one of their prizes and seen if that works for the ticket?
Yeah, pretty much. The summer contest actually caused me to go through and update it a bit, actually placing things there other than my stock Civ V/DX: HR/Saints Row 3 'list.
Also, the Jedi space farmer image in my mind amuses me to no end. I have these crazy Force powers - to harvest every field I have in three minutes flat!
steam isn't letting me serve the Newell anymore, there is plenty of $$ in the account (made sure of that before the sale hit) but my card is getting declined now.
I got an email with a link to the helpdesk supposedly explaining it all but its just a broken link.
my bank apparently doesn't care about a ton of $3 charges.
Crap I just realized I'm going to be at cedar point when the sales hit tomorrow. Curse my two days between summer sessions where I don't have classes to worry about

man i really wanna buy The Force Unleashed and The Force Unleashed 2 but the sales aren't great and the second one is apparently a terrible game (I loved the first on eon 360)
I actually kinda liked TFU 1. TFU2 removed a lot of the charm in it, and made the level design worse. It was really short though, and the ending was clearly designed for a sequel we're not going to get. I personally wouldn't say it was worth $10
Picked this up in the relatively quiet Deus Ex: HR thread - you can pre-order that game at Green Man Gaming for $36 with the voucher code BRING-MESUN-SHINE (the voucher is really just for 20% off but it works on anything).
Game registers on Steam so no reason not to jump if you're interested.
(Although my card declined the purchase since they are based out of the UK and trying to buy it tripped a fraud alert).

don't know what to do!
If you liked the first one you'll like the second. It's got problems, but it's basically the same game with 2 lightsabers now.

So....Dungeons. I remember people arguing about it when it first came out and I'm not sure what to do now. I loved the Dungeon Keeper series. Is it like Dungeon Keeper?
Where are you guys seeing these other deals, such as the Star Wars deal, or The Longest Journey? I don't see those on the daily deal splash page.
Edit: Oh, I see the "Franchise Sale" on the Star Wars one, but how was TLJ found? Part of a publisher's pack?
If you use the website in the OP, it can list stuff by percent off, is how things like the Penny Arcade games and TLJ are being found despite not really being daily deals.

I actually just browsed the store by genre for an hour or so... I didn't really have anything to do yesterday

NON-EDIT: Damnit, I just bought Just Cause 2, too.

Mega sale seems to bring everyone closer together
Pretty sure they're ulaks. Which are badass enough when made of metal. My brain can't even comprehend the sheer badassitude of saber-ulaks.
Here's hoping!
Also, feel free to send me some friend invites if you want.
I should pick up Portal 2 while it's on sale but I don't knoooow. Mapping for it would be fun, but I just know it's going to be cheaper eventually...
And now I know what ulaks are!

Heh. I only know what they are because I'm like...the one person left that still loves the Chronicles of Riddick property.
Yeah, it's weird how many people have the expensive stuff randomly scattered when the contest is for the top 10 items on your wishlist

The Wikipedia might jog your memory. It's totally making me want to tear down my 800 and fix it.

Oh well this is it, I will now wait until tomorrow when I´m more qualified to deal with my own money to check the deals...
