Next, I've constantly heard both praise and criticism about Alpha Protocol. Have current patches and mods turned this into a must-have, or will I still have to sit through the crappy bits?
How's the PC version of Bully? I've been sitting on this game for quite a while, always seeing good deals for both 360 and PC.
I also know they fixed Doom 3's lighting problem with a mod that mounts a flashlight to the gun, so I'm wondering if that game still holds up.
And lastly, how is Singularity? I believe some people sung its praises, but I don't recall what criticisms there were.
Bionic Commando Rearmed is required purchasing for those who don't have it. That would include me, even though I've played through it.

Did anyone else not get a receipt at the beginning of the sale? I just went back to add up how much I'd spent, and realized I don't have one from Bit.Trip Beat
Can anyone tell me if I can have 2 separate save games in Fallout and Bully? Me and my girlfriend want them both but it would suck to only have one save...

Huzzah to Farout Foolio, who is not only a sport for gifting me HL2: EP2, but is the soul of patience for my laughable response times. You, sir, earn the Monocle Probe Award.
FYI - all the Mount & Blade games are 75% off today. Based on the recommendations I've seen here and elsewhere, I picked up Warband instead of the newer expansion.
And Alpha Protocol, because I'm just that much of the Newell's bitch.
Seriously, I'm intrigued by Alpha Protocol, but I want someone to be upfront and tell me what flaws it has, and whether or not any of them have been corrected with mods/patches.
So, is Fire & Sword worth it for someone who, for example, played over 100 hours of the original and has been too burnt out on it to put more than a handful of hours into Warband? Is it different enough to actually offer up some variety this time?

Sega abandoned the game, so I wouldn't expect any Alpha Protocol patches.
That said, it's not really buggy, and all of its issues are purely design oriented.
The shooting can feel very unintuitive since it's tied to a skill, and each weapon works in a very specific way. This results in things like not being able to hit someone two feet away with a pistol unless you use the special pistol skill, or aim at them for a few seconds from behind cover to increase your accuracy. This really riled a lot of people up, and is a prime contender for why it got savaged so badly.
Additionally, it is entirely possible to play through much of the early portions of the game without picking up enough combat oriented skills to survive when a boss battle rears its ugly head. The boss battles work on entirely different principals from the remainder of the game, generally feel very out of place, and can be punishing or near unwinnable based on your skill selections.
If you think you can get over those two hurdles, the game really is fun and the branching story and conversation system is great, and you get perks that give in-game bonuses for all sorts of various things you do and depending on if different characters like or hate you (Although the only failing here is that the bonuses scale proportionately toward the end of each spectrum, so for optimal results you want to make sure the character either really likes you, or absolutely hates you)

Singularity is a decent game, one of those you won't regret it but it won't make your top 10 list although it does make you wish they'd been just a bit more creative with the time mechanics.
The patch for Alpha Protocol fixes none of its gameplay problems, just makes it actually playable for people who couldn't before. For the money, you can't go wrong with the game now. However, overall its a great game if you like a good storyline (relative to other FPS games), but its has crappy shooting mechanics, crappy "RPG" mechanics, and some left over problems that never got updated because a metacritic score in the 70s means abandon ship to some companies.
Seriously, I'm intrigued by Alpha Protocol, but I want someone to be upfront and tell me what flaws it has, and whether or not any of them have been corrected with mods/patches.
To be completely honest, there are some questionable design decisions, the most notable being the spread for the guns, but there's a mod to drastically reduce that, and the boss fights being...sub-optimal. But neither of those are really that big a problem as long as you don't go hard your first playthrough, and the later is mitigated entirely by using pistols as your primary spec. Also, it was really designed for controllers, the minigames control kinda wonky with Kbam.
But other than that, it's a great RPG, my goty last year. It's the only game that really tackles C&C in a meaningful way, and has an almost deus ex level ability of being able to surprise you with new things even on the n-th playthrough, where n is way more than 2
I bought Blood off of GoG and I'm not sure if those Doom games offer anything Blood doesn't already have. Yay or nay on buying Doom 2.
Yay, while Blood offers a lot that the Doom games don't have, the Doom games have some really great level design and are super fun to play if you enjoy running and gunning. Get both Doom 1 and 2, actually, and 3 if you have the money for it (fuck all the naysayers, it's a great game too, just in a completely different way from the first two).
Adding Serious Sam to my potential gets today as well. So about half of what is on offer I want. Which means waiting on New Vegas, since I'm sure it will be cheaper in the future.

Hmm...a lot of that sounds like stuff that could be easily modded. Assuming the game can be modded easily.
I dunno, I'm still tempted due to the praise for the conversation elements and whatnot. I'll have to think on this one.

1. How do I take and post a screenshot?
2. What level in Serious Sam would let me drown an enemy?

If you have a gamepad, yes.
I would recommend you avoid Bionic Commando like the plague though; played it for 10 hours, just so I could finish it and uninstall it.
Yes.

Mount & Blade... Just get Fire and Sword or should I get the complete pack for $12.50?
I wouldn't know, I fiddle with it for a couple of minutes then just plugged in my Xbox 360 gamepad and had a blast.

I would say that if you have to choose then buy just Warband instead of Fire & Sword.
Warband is the definitive Mound and Blade experience.
Well, Warband is $7.50...
and I can get all 3 for $12.50...
hmmm, damn you steam and making me decide stuff!
If it werent for the vacation coming up in a few weeks this would be a no brainer.

I only played with a keyboard and it's just fine and dandy. Had no problems with the controls whatsoever, and the game is fun as hell.
