I've managed to not spend any money so far, I'm so proud of myself! I've kept the Oddbox in cart to buy on the last day though, and it probably has a lot more to do with wanting to get a 3DS than actual self control against frivolous purchases, but still.
Same here, I keep thinking maybe maybe maybe and then the day is over...

Many of my coworkers will testify to my ability to (accidentally) introduce subtle but crippling bugs into software. If there is ever an AI civil war, these skills could be invaluable in taking out the opposition.
Played the AI War demo, wasn't feeling it. It could use some AI on your side.
Been a little while since I played, but I could have sworn one of the expansions added in options for that. If that is your biggest reason for not getting it, check around (I did some brief searches but I'm on a crappy connection at the moment).
Guess I spoke too soon, transaction errors ahoy! I'll leave till the morning
I had weird problems with steam saying all sorts of shit about my account and how they were going to send me an email (which never came). Then I unloaded steam and tried again. Same thing. Then I unloaded steam again and tried again. Success. Steam is weird.
Steam is very weird . All I wanna do is give them money and they just won't allow it!

Fired it up for about an hour earlier to get the ticket achievement, and the tutorial seems better written than it used to be also, unless i'm misremembering.

Ahhh, Orochimaru. Or, as I like to call him, Japanese Pedophile Voldemort.

At the risk of this getting lost in the sale talk, can anyone give me an invite to the Steam group? I noticed that after all this time I never joined up.
Hey, rewind a day, anyone get the Serious Sam cheevo?
Where and how? :0
There's a pool in the opening level. Run up the ramp at the beginning of the level, circle around to the right at the top until the pathway to the left shows up then go down it (it's a 4-way intersection), turn right to face a door (a Gnaar will spawn as you approach it), go through the door, and you'll be in a room with a pool. Run around until the green guy spawns, then run into him to push him into the pool. Or you can shoot him with the single Colt and try to knock him in, but it's easier to just push him. Wait for him to drown, and you're set.

So I finally bought Dreamfall after playing The Longest Journey a few years ago and blew through it. The gameplay and puzzles definitely were a step down from the first, but the story was still very engaging. Sadly it ends in a massive cliffhanger that won't be resolved for years, so I kind of regret playing through it now.

I don't HAVE the best computer though. are the texture and graphical enhancements OPTIONAL?
Complete isn't what you're looking for if you're having issues running the vanilla game. I mean, you can always try it, but ZRP would probably be the bugfix mod for you, though I don't know how much it will help your performance.
However, to you and everyone else who just picked up a STALKER game, you should drop by the STALKER thread, whose webbed tri-array of OPs will answer every question you have had or ever will have, and whose irradiated denizens will pump you full of knowledge and experience, whether you want it or not.
So is it recommended to mod up SoC before your first play through, or is there some value in playing through the vanilla version beforehand?
Stalker Complete 2009 is basically vanilla, but prettier, and with a few extra ease-of-use features (like armor repairs and a sleeping bag). Having played both vanilla and Complete 2009, I found the extra features fit in very naturally and did not feel in any way like a departure from the vanilla gameplay. They just smooth over some rough edges. I think it's the best way to experience SoC for the first time.
I know. Such a fun little game that I know I'd put dozens of hours into if it didn't insist on vaporizing my corneas. I played the demo for all of five minutes today around...mid-afternoon. And I'm just now getting rid of the headache. 7 hours or so later.
Alright, got past the goddamn phase ticks after a couple tries or five or ten. For me, the key was to not immediately try to rush out of the room; if you do that, you're basically running right into the onslaught, even if you blunt the first wave with a deadlock or whatever, and you get swarmed quickly. By standing my ground at the back of the room for a while and greeting the onrushers with Volk blasts and a couple of impulses, and then doing a little rope-a-doping, I was able to reduce their numbers enough to get a clear path to sprint into the hallway and deal with the rest of them there. Although it took me most or all of my health packs.
Glad to have that over with. I am hoping, dearly hoping that Singularity is a short enough game that I won't have to revisit an area like that, but something tells me that they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of designing an enemy that annoying only to use it just one time.
Sprint in this game is total balls, BTW. It's not very fast and it doesn't last more than 4-5 seconds at the most. I just got the perk that's supposed to increase its duration but I haven't had a chance to see how much difference it makes yet.
can some of you do me a favor and see if you can F12 screenshot Bit.Trip Runner? As soon as I hit it, I get a BSOD. Running Win 7 64.
This does not happen with a couple other games I tried like TF2 and Bit.Trip Beat.
I was trying to screenshot the main problem I have with the game - that everything that moves (obstacles and land you run on) is very blurry - like microstutters the whole way across the screen. Never clear and in focus, like the Wii version.
I also have reliable sound popping issue at the start of each level and a 2nd pop a little ways in. Hate that too.

So, got Alpha Protocol when it was dirt cheap. Probably'll get a few more games before the sale ends.

Thank you for the reminder!

Just want to mention that there are some minor factions in the game that allow you to have many different sorts of AI allies.

That's for talking madness!
So do you punch yourself in the nuts for fun, or what?
So is there a mod or something to bring the preformance up?

Hey. Lord Yod asked. So I answered. Leave my nuts out of this.

Honestly my game ran far better with complete installed and I can't explain it because it looks 10 times better.
I have the same thoughts on this, as I really am tempted to pick this beautiful monster up.
Also can someone answer my Star Wars:Force Unleashed USE from earlier? Is it still a POS or did they ever patch it?
Big I, what's your Steam name?
And Aerynkelly is classy, so so classy. His classy kindness gifted me The Longest Journey and Eschalon Book 1.
Thanks, I'll have to try this out.

All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Also, thanks to Eliotw2 for X-com TFTD. I won Apoc in his contest, but it appears he is even more generous than that!

I think you need Ultra, but with that you can reduce the visuals to 50%, which can still be a bit overwhelming during intense boss combat.
I have no idea how I made it as far as I did in regular BH at full intensity, and anyone who uses BHU's 200% option is crazy.
When the screen is full of enemies, asteroids, projectiles and my own shots and ship, I can barely see what's happening as it is.
