    Nashville is looking to sign Captain Shea Weber to a long term deal but he's interested in signing a short term deal at this time.

    Sounds like he wants a deal that will expire when he is eligible to become a UFA, maximize his value

    Unless Arnott can play the wing I don't see how the Sharks can find a use for him.

    Yeah, I don't think Arnott is going to happen. Miettinen seems like the best UFA choice for the third line, a reasonably fast two-way winger who can score occasionally.


    Of course, Doug Wilson has said that the Sharks are still exploring trade opportunities so who knows how the roster will look on opening day

    I guess this one has the better OP, so I'll post here.

    Both players on the Leafs that could file for arbitration signed this afternoon. MacArthur gets 6.5m over 2 years (which matches my 3.2 prediction) and Bozak signed a short deal that's undisclosed right now for some reason.

    Now to resign Schenn and I think we're set for next season.

    Bruins get Joe Corvo from the Canes for a 4th.. not bad, I guess. Pretty good compared to the picks given away to get Kaberle's name on the cup.

    I'm not really sure why they think the Pens would be in on Arnott.

    If anything, we have a ton of workhouse/grinder centers to begin with so adding an aging veteran one isn't really in the cards.

    I do not like the precedent being set by all these defenseman contracts. They are going to make Kronwall and Stuart expensive.

    Sharks re-sign Greiss 2 year 1.175 mil. Wondering if this is just because Stalock is out until late in the year or if we are moving Nitty out.

    I like that Columbus has signed Methot to a 4-year deal. Long enough that he'll be here in his prime and can give us a decent cap number. Short enough that if he regresses he's not a poison pill. I'd like to see what the actual monetary numbers are though. I'm hoping the cap-hit is under $2 million but its hard to say with the way money's being handed out this month.

    Wins what? Money? UFA? He's going to get paid (and he deserves to).

    I think it doesn't get to Arbitration, personally. Gillis wants a multi year deal, and i think he signs Hansen last minute like he did Raymomd last year.

    Don't think so, but you never know.

    I hope they match. They're not paying for Hoff anymore, and they re-signed Bieksa and Salo for less then their combined rate last season, so they should have some money to spend on Jank.

    edit: If it's too much for the Canucks, I think it probably too much for the sharks, too.

    Canucks cap space: $4,591,667

    Sharks cap space: $6,192,500

    Although our cap space will most likely be for re-signing Couture and Burns

    I think that article was more "Puck Daddy wants Commodore to take the number 64" not that he was actually thinking about it.

    Phillipe Dupuis to Toronto. Never a great goal scorer but a terrific 3rd/4th liner. Lots of heart. He will be missed.

    Going to the playoffs? What? Our last playoff stint was entirely a fluke on the backs of Anderson and Duchene.

    They rebuilt because we had a team of 3rd liners.

    I wish I could see what Bowman's game plan is for the hawks. Maybe I'm just too new to the sport to understand all the pieces well enough, but it just seems very...random.
