I snuck an AI War purchase in at the buzzer. Score!

5th-ing the answer of yes you want to play Left 4 Dead with other people. It's not even a questions. Solo is a shell of a game. Coop or vs. is a hell of a game.

Looks like I'm free of purchasing anything for myself today.

First person to cleverly ask for Left 4 Dead 2 gets a copy gifted to them. Be sure to keep the request classy gents.

I'm probably picking up Atom Zombie Smasher.

Hmmm, Left 4 Dead. Do I need to have people to play with?

The AI is as dumb as a sack of bricks and you probably won't have much fun with it. The PA servers are good times though.

What is King's Bounty and should I buy it?

Todays sales are actually good, I just have everything I want except maybe GTAIV?

Arcania definitely isn't worth it. ...Lost Planet 2 is also depressingly expensive, but I got lucky and netted a steam code for 10$ off ebay for that bad boy, so I dont need to sweat the 20$ price tag they are asking... I guess I'll have to buy Zombie Smasher though, to do the ticket. Boo.

Edited: Looking like I should add that Joe Camacho MKII is the gentlest is chaps and smoothed the way for my ticket hounding by giving me a copy of Zombie Atom Smasher. Which I guess I'll now install and try to figure out. Tally ho!

I recall Gothic 2 or 3 (whichever one I played) being a pretty cool game if you could tune out the bugs.

But that's just classic JoWood. Shit implementation of pretty fantastic concepts. (Oh, Söldner. The fun we could have had...)

    Is Gothic 4:

    A) Good
    B) Good for a JoWood game
    C) Irredeemable Shit

Hrm, something I should check; does anyone who plays The Sims 3 on Steam know of any problems using custom content within it? As I posted above, I'm pondering buying the full pack for my girlfriend, but she modifies the ever loving shit out of it heavily, and I know some people are wary of exe mods and hacks and whatnot for steam games.

Now, it's single player and many such checks are in place to prevent multiplayer shenanigans, but I'd hate to see her account locked (and waste $80) because Steam threw a fit because she added in a bunch of extra models from the Sims community.

The direct route would be to ask her about it (if nothing else, if she'd care to have the package with the possibility of not being able to add in outside stuff) but as this would be a surprise gift I'm trying to save that as the last ditch effort.

I've been able to add mods into mine before. I do remember it taking a small amount of effort but nothing crazy. I'd still warn/ask her about it.

Also, I'm so freaking glad they didn't screw over the people who originally purchased the "Ultimate" deal back when it came out by not putting Generations on sale now.

I really liked the first Far Cry game at first, but it lost much of its appeal once it started to go scifi on me and introduced mutants, etc.

Does Far Cry 2 keep its feet on the ground for the entire game? It's pretty much the only thing in today's sale that I have any interest in (I've always felt that as a CRPG fan I should give the Gothic games a shot, but they've never actually held any interest for me, for whatever odd reason).

From my understanding, Far Cry 2 has no mutants whatsoever; just human opponents. It's also a divisive game, so you'll see just as many people like it as others hate it on here. I've only barely played it, so I can't comment on it yet.

Reposting this from the other thread since it was near the end. Some really interesting stuff here:
    CONTEST OVER!
    BEST BURGER RECIPES!

So in honor of the bravest wad of meat around, (And because I am dying for some tasty burgers) I will be giving out a free copy of Super Meat Boy to the Best sounding recipe for burgers that gets submitted to me. I want western burgers, greek, whatever crazy awesome recipes you can submit. Doesnt even have to be Beef... you got a way to make a turkey burger that isnt dried out and awful? SUBMIT IT! Just make sure they are edible, thats my only condition. (Pictures are a bonus too!)

I will be going to work for quite awhile in a few minutes, so I'll judge them tomorrow morning.

If you post them in the thread make sure to PM me with a link at the very least to make sure I get it.

Oh and for some added incentive, there will be a Secret 2nd Place prize game as well (so if you already have SMB, keep submitting anyway!)

Had a bunch of really awesome entries that I will have to try. A few really stood out though.

    Ratsult2

    Peanut Butter Burger

    1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
    1 lb ground chuck
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    butter or margarine
    5 hamburger buns

    Directions:

1 In a large bowl, with fork, lightly mix peanut butter, ground chuck, salt and pepper just until combined Divide into 5 burgers, about 1/2 cup for each one.

    2 Flatten gently.

3 Arrange in large skillet (or on grill ), not overlapping.

4 Cook over medium heat about 4 minutes to a side or until done to desired doneness.

    5 Serve in buttered buns.

    Bloodatonement

    BBQ Cheddar Turkey Burger

1 lb of ground turkey meat
    1 egg
    1/4 cup italian bread crumbs
    2 tbl spoons wurstchester sauce
    1 tbl season salt

    combine above.

roll into small balls. flatten. put a good chunk of cheddar (though smaller in diameter than the meat) on one piece. place another piece of meat on top. pinch the edges together. cook like normal.

Add 2 slices of center cut bacon, bbq sauce, onion ring (home made of course*), lettuce, tomato.

    In SECOND PLACE!

    Skoal Cat

Vermont Maple Apple Cheddar Bacon Burger
1 lb. ground beef, seasoned with salt and pepper and formed into four equal patties.

    1 granny smith apple
    1 vidalia onion
    1 TBSP butter
2 TBSP pure Vermont maple syrup

Peel and slice apple, slice onion into thin slices. Melt butter and saute apples and onions until onions are wilted and apples are tender. Stir in maple syrup and heat through. Set aside.

Eight slices thick maple flavored bacon, cooked (can use artificially flavored)

Four thick slices Vermont Sharp Cheddar cheese

    Four hearty rolls, toasted.

Grill burgers to medium, top with cheese and allow cheese to partially melt. Place burgers on buns and top with apple/onion mixture and two slices of bacon each.

    And the WINNER!

    Corpekata

    Pizza Burger

3 pounds ground round ( preferred ) or chuck
1/2 tablespoon oregano (dried and crumbled)
1/4 tablespoon basil (dried and crumbled)
    1 small onion diced
    2 cloves of garlic minced
1 small green or red pepper diced small
1/2 cup pizza sauce ( either store bought or homemade )
    12 slices of mozzarella cheese
    12 slices of Provolone cheese
    12 slices of pepperoni
    12 Kaiser rolls
    for rolls:
    3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon oregano ( dried and crumbled)
1 teaspoon of basil ( dried and crumbled)
    1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder

    Preparation:
Mix the burger, spices, onion, garlic, and pepper together and shape into 12 patties. Grill over hardwood coals until done to your liking. Baste with the pizza sauce for the last few minutes. Cut rolls in half . Mix the remaining herbs and olive oil and brush on both cut faces of rolls, place face down on grill for a few minutes to toast. Remove from grill. Place a slice of Mozzarella cheese on one half of roll and a slice of Provolone on the other half of roll. Place one slice of pepperoni on top of one side of roll. Place burger on one side of roll and brush with remaining pizza sauce. Close roll and serve.

Now, Corpekata already has SMB, so has opted for the 2nd place prize instead. which means Skoal Cat is now the proud own of a copy of SUPER MEAT BOY!!!

Corpekata, for your glorious combination of Pizza and Burger... you have earned yourself a copy of...

    THE BALL

edit: oh and one last thing

Honorable mention (Not really a burger, but sounds damn good):

    Psiberian

    Greek Chicken Sandwich

    * Chibatta bread as the bun
    * one side spread a generous helping of your favorite hummus, ( Black bean or Garlic are very tasty)
    * on the other side generously spread a layer of Tzadziki sauce ( I have a recipe to make it from scratch if you need/would like it)
    * Add Sliced cucumber to one side
    * Add Grilled Chicken (could probably use some battered chicken strips if you want too)

How "convenient" that GTAIV is today's deal, especially with this thread going on: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=436159

Air quoted because the whole thing is a work in progress, since there's conflicting reports on whether you can get it running on the Steam version or not, as well as people still tinkering to produce the best results. It doesn't help that 3/4 of the actual posts are GAF being GAF.

But man, I mean MAN look at those screenshots. Holy shit.

So now I have to decide whether to take advantage of this deal now, assuming you can't get it working properly on Steam, or wait until that mod becomes more stable.

And while I already own AA on Steam (thanks to last year's classy gifting during Black Friday), I'm still going to chime in on my favorite Batman moment.

But in the meantime....it's CONTEST TIME!

I have one extra copy of Frozen Synapse to gift, courteously of Mr_Grinch, an especially classy gentleman who gifted me the two-pack of the game.

Since the game is about strategically planning breach tactics in order to take out an opposing force, your job is to PM me with your own original breach tactic; no real rules, except that you need to stick to the handful number of squad mates that you have on hand; no tactics involving nukes or satellite lasers or any of that nonsense. Think up a breach strategy that's efficient, but more importantly awesome in concept, and give it a cool name to boot (important!).

Alternatively, you can send videos or links of tactics used in movies or real life. No Seal Team Six vs Osama breach, though; we've all seen that.

Remember, PM ONLY. Due to the fast-paced nature of this thread, I may miss out on your post, so PM me to keep it safe. If my inbox gets full, send me an e-mail at yeshallbe@yahoo.com and I'll immediately clear it up.

I'm in class now, so I'll make the DEADLINE AT 7:00PM EST. That's roughly five and a half hours from this post.

    Good luck!

Also lost planet 1 is the only game on my account uninstalled. The first mission was fun and all then I got to the first cutscene, groaned in agony and quit playing.

Hmm the major publisher games seem to be lacking in sales this year. Squar/eidos is doing alright though but maybe they actually understand what a sale is.

SAme here regarding Prototype. The game interest me but for some reason, I can't convince myself to buy it at more than 10$. I was hoping it would be lower, considering newer, better game were on sale for less than 10$ already. Considering Batman Arkham Asylum is 7.50$ vs double for Prototype is saying a lot. It is only humans you fight. The problem is that there are a lot of them and their guard posts respawn too frequently. I was not able to bring myself to finish the game (yet, at least) but I certainly got $5 worth of fun out of it. The environment is unbelievable. Very atmospheric, very pretty, very cool. The problem is that every mission is pretty much the same - drive to point A, killing like 4 guys at a guard post every two minutes along the way there, kill everyone at point A, go to point B, killing guard posts along the way, kill everyone at point B, mission completed. Drive back to town to get a new mission, killing guard posts along the way. You kill a lot of guard posts, is what I'm saying, and that gets repetitive. But what a beautiful environment. And you do get a lot of freedom in how you do the killing - snipe from afar, sneak in and do the job with silenced weapons, drive straight in a jeep with a mounted MG and blaze away, lob explosives from a grenade launcher, set a fire and drive your enemies into an ambush, etc etc. It's like they realized "hey, the funnest part of Far Cry was having freedom to attack those human enemy encampments however the player wanted. What if we did nothing but that?" without realizing that it gets a little repetitive. I liked it but I got a little tired of all the guard posts.
