I'm trying to connect a PS3 to a TV with an HDMI cable. Nothing is happening, no image no sound. Is there some arcane ritual needed to work this thing or what?

EDITEDIT: Okay, no. I got a picture and it said something about detecting an HDMI and asked me if I wanted to switch audio and video, if I click yes, nothing, if I click no, nothing

Check cable connection on both ends. Make sure it's plugged in all the way.
If no good try a different cable.
If the new cable doesn't work your PS3 sucks.

1000 Blank White Cards is a game where you have a deck of blank white cards, usually a hundred or less. Everyone takes five, draws on them to make some initial cards, then they are shuffled back in. Everyone is dealt five cards from the deck, and the game begins - you can either play a card that has already been drawn on, or draw a card and throw it in.
Essentially it's an improv game where your main objective is to have fun and make everyone laugh with the insanity that eventually piles up in the game, as you declare someone to be Lady Gaga and therefore can only play Lady Gaga cards, then they play something to send everyone to prison, and so forth
We play it online, though, which means you use photoshop instead of pens and cards
I think its just a matter of preference and experience.
I went from a PS1 to a Dreamcast and then to an XBOX, so I had no controller repetition. Then I went from an XBOX to an XBOXs to the 360 controller and I can't imagine using a PS3 controller.
