This was sitting in my Green Man Gaming cart for 15 minutes at $43.99 between their coupon and the tiny amount of trade in money left in my account. After 15 minutes GMG takes the game out of your cart, but I have a feeling I'm just going to end up buying it at some point today.
I'd like to see some context from the whole review. It's entirely possible that the game spreads itself too thin in the character department, and that's what the reviewer was getting at.
Though 'surplus of NPCs' is an odd phrase. I've assumed they meant characters otherwise idk
e: on the trailer, i spent some time going through the different options, and i encountered some deaths
Two, in fact:
After climbing up to the window, if you immediately enter the guards get you.
Opening all the cages in the kennels is (unsurprisingly) a bad idea
Why would anyone think that unleashed dogs would suddenly attack their handlers, especially when it already shows you a person talking to an obedient and free hound?
Also the codes were apparently for PSN avatar/skin trinket things.
It's the same reason why these companies have PR people and carefully thought out information release plans that they refuse to deviate from in the slightest, like Sony pretending all those All Star characters weren't leaked months ago.
And here's links to some other reviews. 4/5 Giant Bomb, 8/10 Eurogamer, 4.5/5 Joystiq, 9/10 Polygon, 9.5/10 CVG.
Looking pretty solid.

I may still have to wait a bit on this one. Just bought RE6 and Borderlands 2 and I plan on getting AC3 at the end of the month.
That being said it does sound like a fun game to just tool around it. Though one thing I'm wondering about its the storyline, the review says that it has a nice world to it can it didn't say much about the plot.
Edit: And just then someone posts a review that comments on the story.
Dishonored is a work of rare imagination and skill, the sort of thing that can’t simply be copied and repeated.
That’s why Dishonored is important right now. It feels like a game from another timeline, one where Thief and System Shock set the bar for what first-person games could be, leading to designs that were built around intelligent use of space and world-building
Suddenly I'm 100 times even more hyped about this game. It can't come out soon enough.
I've definitely been interested in this game for a while and was kind of curious about the new X-Com too, though I never played the old ones. What with the stuff with Thief happening lately I've been thinking of the style of game again anyway so... bought. And I'm even more anxious after the info from the lifted embargo. So excited...
Also, I just noticed on twitch that this guy is streaming Dishonored right now... no idea who he is or how he got an early copy but...
I may watch a little bit anyway, but I don't want to spoil too much. Steam says 23 hours till it launches.
Edit: Or, I would watch, but I'm preloading the game now and the stream is lagging like crazy for me because of it.

Given that a lot of reviewers have attention deficit disorder it could be anything north of five, maybe six.
Here's hoping they have a journal that tracks all those people because hell if I can be bothered to remember so many peoHEY LOOK SHINY
My trailer choices got me killed.
Why are there red arrows next to those positive points?

Trying to gauge how well it might run.
If you go through an entrance too quickly instead of waiting you get spotted and die after a big fight.
She waited there.
I didn't tell her what to do.
Then she went in and everything was gravy.
Instincts of the assassin.
Unfortunately the vicious attack dogs seemed to prefer the guy that feeds them over the weird creep they're trained to maul and kill.
Lesson learned.
edit: Also, a 16 digit code pops up in the video. I presume it's a digital code for the game, but apparently the commenters have already redeemed it.

I guess it depends on how big a deal Fallon is, but I doubt they won't be getting copies of whatever Arkane/2K does next.
edit: Remember when WSJ broke that Activision/COD embargo?

Its 9pm PST so still a few hours before the embargo lifts.
A Thief-style sneak em up with great combat that rewards exploration ? It's about bloody time.
Now I just need find time to play this AND Xcom. I think I can feel some sick days coming on.
Cough.

I may be back logged, but I want this to succeed, so day one for me.
Heck, even my wife wants to give this one a whirl.
