I wish, the whale magic is an equal level of silly cool to space magic.
I'm really looking forwards to the DLC, why does so much good stuff come out directly after christmas?
I like whale oil magic It's got a real steampunk feel to it and it's just different from your standart mana/magic thingie.
Can't wait to play as Daud, he had the most awesome fight in the game, especially if you use stop time - or, depending, you don't even have to: He can go "This is between you and me Corvo!" and stops time himself to make the fight fair. I like that! It's honorable to the highest degree.
Also curious to see how much more we will learn about the Leviathan.
Oh yeah, it was awesome.
I stopped time and he was all, "Ha ha, charade you are! I can stop time too!"
The second time, I blinked and one shot him in an execute. I had to reload so I'd get the cool boss fight.
I slowed time, and he mocked me for it.
Unfortunately for him, I only slowed down time once his fragile organic neck was in reach of my choking arm.
Guests don't suspect anything when they see you, so they don't count against a Ghost run. I know, because I did it :smug:
Yeah I know, I'm just wondering whether it's possible to complete the level with zero detection, just as a personal challenge.
It is, though you'd never be able to tell because guests don't alert to you.
Also note: The duel in the back garden doesn't count for anything, detection or lethal runs. I guess it is in some parallel universe as far as achievements go.
This just in: Flooded District on a ghost/non-lethal run can go fuck itself in the face. You hear me, one weeper I forgot about that was alerted when I went over that bridge to the train station? Yeah you. Go fuck yourself.
I never understood the backstory behind the duel in the first place. Pendelton wanted him dead? That it? Why? Why the duel? Why not just tell me?
No, Pendleton is a coward and needed someone to stand for him in the duel after offending the man in order to keep his honour and respectability as a noble man.
He doesn't need him dead, he just needs it to be seen that his representative beats the man in a 'fair' duel.

Do you habitually roam around the Hound Pits before and after each mission checking everyone's rooms for audio notes and diary entries? Pendleton mentions it I think just after the first mission to kill the High Overseer.

You know, I really feel uncomfortable thinking about the implications of video game people being actual people. The things I did to NPCs in Invisible War...
Also I like seeing people using stop time for clever things, like going through gates or in combination with a few powers, but using it all the time is kinda boring.
Morninglord on
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
Those that have played Dishonored vividly can recall the actions of Daud – the legendary assassin that puts the game’s plot into motion. Beginning April 16th, you’ll return to this fateful moment and play the role of Daud in the story-driven add-on, The Knife of Dunwall.
Features of the new DLC include:
New Powers, Weapons and Gadgets – The mark of the Outsider empowers you with unique supernatural abilities. Call upon the Whalers to assist in combat with ‘Summon Assassin’, track down hidden Runes and Bone Charms with ‘Void Gaze’ and learn to use new variations to powers, including ‘Blink’. To aid in your dangerous exploits your customized arsenal of weapons and gadgets will include Chokedust to daze your enemies, whale oil powered Stun Mines to shock your targets, and a concealed Wristbow to launch sleep darts and explosive bolts.
Explore More of Dunwall –Make your way through the Legal District and infiltrate the Rothwild Slaughterhouse, a steaming factory filled with colossal whale carcasses and their hulking butchers. Revisit the decaying Flooded District, the location of Daud’s hidden base, first seen in the original game. Return to the scenes of key events in Dishonored with a new perspective, including the fateful moment that sets off Corvo’s journey.
Choose Your Path – On your search for answers, approach each mission with your own style. Your redemption – or your turn towards darkness – depends on your skills and the decisions you make. Discover the mystery behind Delilah in this stand-alone chapter, and then conclude Daud’s story in the upcoming final add-on, The Brigmore Witches.
The Knife of Dunwall will be available on April 16th on PlayStation 3 and Steam ($9.99), as well as on Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft points. Stay tuned for new information on the content.

Any game where you can literally pile-drive a tank looks like it would be fun. Definitely going on the list to watch for a Steam sale.
As for the DLC content, I'm pretty jazzed about it being Daud focused as I really wanted to know more about him in the base game. I mean I got the whole him and the Whalers being professional assassins that use Outsider powers or some such but he's one of the few targets I actually sat around listening to to learn more about him. Also, I'm pretty sure he knew I was there.
User name Alazull on Steam, PSN, Nintenders, Epic, etc.
Quick question: Let's say I played through the entire game to completion and didn't get Ghost achievement because I was detected in the Flooded District but no other level. Can I replay that one single mission in the chapter select, not get detected, then get the achievement. Or do I have to go continuously from the start all over again?
I think you can reload that level and then play to the end of the game from there to unlock it (maintaining ghost), but I'm not certain.
DLC: Revisiting the flooded district was not high oh my list of desires, but the rest of that sounds great. So this DLC is Daud Part I and the next DLC is Part II?
Jesus christ. That kind of bullshit is the most annoying. I spent two hours crawling around the flooded district, avoiding everything even krusts. And that's the thing that trips me up? Arghh.
Been awhile but I'm pretty sure you can timestop and blink your way up after nabbing the key and be safe so long as you get out before she teleports and then gets her red exclamation mark alerts (which are the sign of detection, by the way, so river krusts and watchtowers that don't display those don't count).

Yup! It took me seven tries when the game came out, but I managed it.
It's not so much that I care about achievements. Or trophies in my case. It's that I already have the rest just through playing the game as is. All I need are ghost, shadow and one or two in the DWC challenges, which I've barely touched.
I've never gotten 100% before, just wanted to know what it was like. Plus, I like playing stealthily so that was fine.
There are moments where I'm proud I don't give a fuck about achievements.
This is one.
It's true, the less fucks I give about achievements the more I enjoy the game usually.
This case is a little different though, because that achievement of "don't get detected ever" is something I would set myself as a personal challenge. Or a no kill run. Or an all kill run, or use no supernatural powers - which I set myself as a goal before I knew "Mostly flesh and steel" existed - or whatever you come up with!
Cantido has been kidnapped by Idx86 and is being held for ransom! Solve the riddle to set em' free, or I'll hand em' over to Clamps!
When you flip tables, he turns them back over He doesn't put up with shit, though he's your favorite uncle. I told him that milk puts hair on your chest, I didn't expect him to chug a cow's udder. Which forumer am I?
Playing through gives me a Splinter Cell Chaos Theory nostalgiagasam, and fills that void I've been seeking for open exloration and stealth. You can be as stealthy or as rowdy as you want, every nook and cranny is a new way to get to your objectives, and exploration is encouraged. I'm trying to find everything, but there's an overwhelming amount of content tucked away in each mission/dungeon to the point its exhausting trying to find everything. I'm glad I started playing this again.
And I yes make Bane voices a lot because of that video. And I'm calling it.

Once or twice is neat, but variety is what makes runs feel cool.
I don't know about possession. It's usefull sure but it's definitely not like you can walk every guard off an edge. It's limited enough as it is.
Stop time though? Yeah. The lvl 1 version is okay-ish I guess.

"Did you really think it would work?"
*Gackt*
Thud.
Yes, I rather think it did.
Why I fear the ocean.

You can do a no kill playthrough with her. You can't do a ghost one with her to my knowledge as she auto detects you when you pick pocket the key.
So just don't do her trigger missions.
Tomato surprises at it's finest.
