dang there are so many discussions in this thread I wanna jump at
first of all, this was my very first comic as a kid:
I was huge into 70's back issues. 80's Marvel was good, but loved shit like Captain Marvel, Shang Chi, Power Man and Iron Fist, Super Villain Team-Up, Tomb of Dracula, Ghost Rider, Man-Thing, Howard the Duck; really the ancillary stuff. The comic shop by me would sell bundles of random issues from the 70's and early 80's for cheap, so I devoured them.
The other thing that was neat about the 70's comics bundles was that, during the 70's, DC was half just as crazy as it was in the fifties and half giving me stuff like Denny O'Neil's Batman, so I'd get shit like a sweet Ra's Al Ghul and also Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen in the same bundle. I got a lot of House of Secrets, House of Mystery, and Len Wein Swamp Thing books during that time.
Really, 70's comics had everything and more.
Then I started reading contemporary comics in the early 90's, though I subscribed to Hulk, Amazing Spider-Man, and X-Men. I also, for a time, read Spawn because the idea was so good and I just knew, I knew it had to get good eventually (it didn't).

I think my first comic that I ever read was something Batman or Spawn related.

my first batman comic was one that had batman cracking up and he discovered that his father was the first Batman
also, it showed Red Hood becoming Joker and Harvey Dent becoming Two-Face
Robin had to dress up as Wayne's father in Batman garb to help Bruce.
it was a small black and white book

also I think every kid should have access to Kirby comics and Silver Age Superman comics
Okay. How would I go about obtaining collections of Lee/Kirby stuff? Let's say, FF and Spidey.
And also how about that Reed page from a couple pages back, that was really good.
Marvel essential TPBs. Amazon has 'em in. Minimum, get FF volume 3. Galactus, This Man This Monster, Black Panther, Reed Richards punching the tar out of dudes. Good stuff.
But there's no Kirby run on Spidey. That was Ditko. Also good, but very different.

Right, my mistake. I should have known from the opening of SpecSpidey ("Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko").

man I wish Denny O'Neil wasn't retired
I mean, dude's earned it
but still.
in a semi-related matter, it occured to me while I was in the shower this morning that the DC reboot brings with it the possibility of a Vic Sage return
It would be a silhouette of a man in a fedora smoking. He is ranting as The Question is wont to do. Suddenly, in the middle of his rant, we hear some people far off the distance shouting. We can't quite make it out. The silhouette is engulfed in smoke.
"well that's the question, isn't it?"
The lights come on, and The Question is in the middle of a warehouse, surrounded by dudes with guns.
Trailer ends.

I mean, I wasn't too big on Shocker before SpecSpidey. But he has a decent power and Weisman actually gave him a personality, and he became one of my favorite villains in the show.
I'm sure if they had gotten to Season 4 or 5, they could have done the same with Spot. Great power for action scenes, just kind of bland and forgettable in terms of character.
Jeffrey Donovan as Vic Sage/The Question
Christina Hendricks as Myra Fermin
Chuck Norris as Richard Dragon
Michelle Yeoh as Lady Shiva
Tim Robbins as Tot

i've seen this porno before
all of them arguing at each other
also, it showed Red Hood becoming Joker and Harvey Dent becoming Two-Face
Robin had to dress up as Wayne's father in Batman garb to help Bruce.
it was a small black and white book
This is acceptable.
Also, I want subcommittee hearings on the Sentient World Observation and Response Department.
And my first comic ever was Power Pack issue 13.
Got it signed by the artist a couple years back. Pretty neat.
Why I fear the ocean.

god hercules is so fucking good
or
I don't know which one I read first, but I know these are the issues that defined batman for me

Fantastic Four
Spider-Man
The Reed page is from Mark Waid's Fantastic Four run, and can be found in this collection.

I already know exactly what the trailer/opening scene would be
"well that's the question, isn't it?"

Oh yeah.
I mean, the other trades, they're good stuff.
But that one?
This Man, This Monster. Worth the price of admission by itself.
Lots and lots of big fight action. The negative zone! Doctor Doom becomes a borderline god! The Black Panther!
Reed Richards beats up a dude with SCIENCE VIBRANIUM KNUCKLES.
Why I fear the ocean.
no, I mean they literally did that a few times back in the Silver Age
After this new Spidey with the Lizard, the sequel should tackle Spot.
Spot could be cool if someone wanted him to be.
You know, Vic coming out of the fog, slowly singing Danny Boy.
Why I fear the ocean.

real answer: the cast would be
Jeffrey Donovan as Vic Sage/The Question
Christina Hendricks as Myra Fermin
Chuck Norris as Richard Dragon
Michelle Yeoh as Lady Shiva
Tim Robbins as Tot
Mayor Fermin would be played by Kelsey Grammar
The preacher who's name I forgot would be Clancy Brown
yeah I'd watch that
but Michael Westin would look supper weird in a red wig
First comic I bought myself:
Steam: YOU FACE JARAXXUS| Twitch.tv: CainLoveless
eff that noise
it will be the crewcut question in here
and I will not do the the hair color change bit
that is the one Question thing I can live without
i like this list because i love jeffrey donovan
He once hit Thor with New Jersey.
I still need to get Jimmy Palmioti to sign DEATH BY D.K.
Even if you do hurt it, you risk it's arousal.
He destroyed a SHIELD helicarrier.
On accident.
WHEN FIGHTING GODZILLA.
Why I fear the ocean.
