PSP to 1080p TVs?

I dusted off my old PSP3000 and have decided to play Ys games on it. First time with Ys, and it's pretty fun. The motion blur for the psp screen bothers me. I've read you can get a cord that connects the PSP to a high def tv. I understand that the psp screen is 16:9, but the component out gives people a small display in the middle of their high def screens.

My tv is a 40inch 1080p. Will the display area be big enough for me? Are there any options for connecting a psp3000 to a tv? My tv can take VGA, HDMI, component, and RCA.

From what I remember it won't ever fill up your screen. I hooked my PSP up to my 32" TV and it was about half the size. The cable is component.

It helps if your TV has a zoom option.

not filling the screen is the lesser of the 2 major problems. the other is that the aspect will invariably be incorrect and things will be stretched.

if you're really lucky, your tv will have a particular zoom mode that just happens to compensate in stretching the aspect back into something normal (16:9).

note that the zoom mode thus has to be incorrect and stupid itself for this to work. (as in, it would make every other type of input or source material other than the PSP look wrong)
