Getting to the point in the sale where money starts needing to be stretched.
I've systematically talked myself out of everything except an x game. it's a genre I've been itching for that has no other option in my library.
I'm not sure how I feel about the Sam & Max games. Devil's playhouse seems like the most interesting but at this point in the sale $8 is pushing it.
And I think I can hold off on PoP till another sale. Beat SoT back when it came out, own 2008 on ps3 so two thrones is really the only one that interests me but I think I can live with the wait for it.
And as much as i want portal 2, it being a valve game it'll be on sale again and again.
I take it back! X games look fantastic. But I can't afford the entire pack, would the X2/X3 be worth it?
lol we just went through this
ONLY BUY TERRAN CONFLICT
they all build on each other
you don't need any other X games
I'm on my phone, sorry! also Terran Conflict is £5
And never winter nights looks interesting too. Dammit Steam!
Terran Conflict is $5 USD if you want to save a little bit on it
The super funbox is supposed to be 5 for all of them it seems. Just not showing up in cart correctly it seems
Yeah, I noticed that as well. Kind of annoying as they're usually pretty good about fixing price discrepancies quickly.
ffs, just had the biggest wall of text I've ever seen come across my community newsfeed.
Pierceneck now owns Source SDK, Source SDK Base 2006, Source SDK Base 2007, Portal 2, Portal 2 Authoring Tools - Beta, Sam & Max 101: Culture Shock, Sam & Max 102: Situation: Comedy, Sam & Max 103: The Mole, the Mob and the Meatball, Sam & Max 104: Abe Lincoln Must Die!, Sam & Max 105: Reality 2.0, Sam & Max 106: Bright Side of the Moon, Sam & Max 201: Ice Station Santa, Sam & Max 202: Moai Better Blues, Sam & Max 203: Night of the Raving Dead, Sam & Max 204: Chariots of the Dogs, Sam & Max 205: What's New Beelzebub?, Sam & Max 301: The Penal Zone, Sam & Max 302: The Tomb of Sammun-Mak, Sam & Max 303: They Stole Max's Brain!, Sam & Max 304: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls, Sam & Max 305: The City that Dares not Sleep, Dead Space 2, Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum, Neverwinter Nights 2 Expansion 1, Neverwinter Nights 2 Expansion 2, Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum - Map Editor, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 2: Digital Deluxe Promo Key, Mass Effect 2: Digital Deluxe Cerberus Key, Mass Effect 2: Digital Deluxe Game Key, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Penumbra: Black Plague, Penumbra: Requiem, Penumbra: Overture, The Last Remnant.
Can't remember which PA'er that is, unfortunately.
Got the Terran Conflict prize because I'm out of prizes to redeem for games I own. I thought I was safe from today's sale, but the more I look at X3:TC the more I'm interested.
The Dead Space franchise, to me, is almost more of a spiritual successor to System Shock than Bioshock is.
First one is more horror-y, second one is more action-y, though both are pretty action-y and horror-y. The horror is more of the F.E.A.R./RE4 style, where there are LOUD NOISES and some disturbing imagery, but you are such a complete badass that when LOUD NOISES happen you start dismembering everything until there are no more LOUD NOISES.
I was going to get the Forgotten Sands, but it still has the DRM in it so...
I feel like such a cheap bastard. I really want Portal 2, but $25? I have more than enough games in my backlog for me to make it to Christmas when it'll be even cheaper.
So just Terraria for me today... well, maybe Dead Space as well...
Has anyone played Star Ruler? I got it as a recommended game after I bought X3: Terran Conflict. Looks very much like Sins of a Solar Empire, but with some fancyness in how they generate stuff.
I remember that people were saying that it was kinda cool when there was a daily deal a week ago

so if you're on the fence about Terran Conflict but you aren't really up for a huge huge huge time sink that isn't really fun for quite a while you might wanna just pass
it's a super neat game but it takes a shit load of time.
I would like to pause for a moment, to talk about my penis.
My penis is like a toddler. A toddler—who is a perfectly normal size for his age—on a long road trip to what he thinks is Disney World. My penis is excited because he hasn’t been to Disney World in a long, long time, but remembers a time when he used to go every day. So now the penis toddler is constantly fidgeting, whining “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? How about now? Now? How about... now?”
And Disney World is nowhere in sight.
Even my wife, who doesn't play video games as rule, has fallen prey to the Steam sales. Signed her up for an account and she's now £49.99 down (Sims 3 pack).
Hrm, really on the fence about pulling the trigger on the Dead Space pack. Watched Helloween's DS1 LP and really enjoyed it, and could play along with his DS2 LP also if I bought it.
At the same time, I've only ever watched it being played, and don't know if I'd enjoy actually playing it. It's either this or FEAR 3, I think. HUM.
I take it back! X games look fantastic. But I can't afford the entire pack, would the X2/X3 be worth it?

Literally no reason to buy the X3: Reunion/Terran Conflict double pack?
Absolutely no reason.
You and Hardtarget are gentlemen ; saved me from buying the Superbox. On the other hand, if the box is *meant* to be the same price as TC, I'll hold out a few hours, and see if they fix it.
As a long time enjoyer of System Shock (1+2), who lost interest midway through Bioshock...do I want Dead Space? I know nothnig about it, except that it's in space (good) and creepy (good) with logs (possibly very good). Thoughts?
What is the point of having a Steam wallet? Because if it's for the sake of convenience, it looks like it's just going to make you into a sucker for impulse buys.

Sam and Max Season Three - own it
Supreme Commander 2 - own it
Neverwinter Nights 2 - own it

Dead Space 2 - own it
Prince of Persia - own it
Pop Sands of Time - own it
PoP Forgotten Sands - own it
PoP Two Thrones - own it
X3 - Own it
X3 - Terran Conflict - Own it
F1 2010 - maybe
Terraria - meh
Sam & Max Season 2 - meh
PAM - wtf, no
Duke Forever - god no
PoP Warrior Within - god no
Think of the saves I could have had (although i did get most of these on sale originally I suppose)
Has anyone played Star Ruler? I got it as a recommended game after I bought X3: Terran Conflict. Looks very much like Sins of a Solar Empire, but with some fancyness in how they generate stuff.

It's good, get it. It rarely goes on sale and it's not gonna be a daily so you're clear to buy.
Seriously, though. It's awesome, you should get it.
so the x superbox currently has no price and the individual games aren't showing up with it and the franchise sale tag is gone from the front page graphic...

i'm pretty sure the superbox is 10 and Terran Conflict is 5
edit - playing X1 and X2 and the original X3 makes no god damned sense anymore at this point though
I have Terraria and Blood Money sitting in the cart. Probably going to throw DS2 in there, but I need to figure out if I want DS1.
Maybe X3:TC? Are you saying I only need that because it includes all the campaign stuff from X3 reunion, or is it just a better game and not to mess with the original. I liked Freelancer a lot but I get the idea this is much less forgiving and easy.
Also waffling on PoP. I played the original one on GameTap way back in the day and liked it. Is PoP 2008 a remake or reboot or what?
For people looking at NWN2 Platinum, I liked it. It's definitely good deal. I paid full price for everything and feel like I got my money's worth on the original and Mask of the Betrayer. Storm of Zehir didn't grab me but for $7 it's a great deal. If you want a 3rd edition D&D game, that is your best and only choice.
Man, I guess Dawn of War 2 isnt going on super-sale this time around. I really want that collection, but 45 bucks is just too expensive. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will get super cheap tomorrow but I doubt it.

Retribution was already a daily deal, so it seems unlikely that the Complete pack would go on daily deal afterward
And does anyone have a sanctum from a 4 pack left around?
you link your steam profile to youtube and select a youtube video to "upload" to your steam profile
i too missed the sanctum sale
Followup, there are videos of people playing TF2 all over the Tf2 thread. Is that a built in "Take video" feature? There's achievements associated with getting views on youtube, so I'd think so, but I don't know where to look.

X3 is nothing like freelancer. (in that freelancer is a super fun game and x3 will literally destroy you)
also the X3 games don't really have much of a .... campaign. if I recall x1 and X2 didn't even have a campaign at all.
Basically Terran Conflict is a stand alone "expansion" that was built on top of Reunion. It has most (if not all) of reunion in it with a bazilion new features and missions added on
