Is assbro playable if I don't have a gamepad? It looks really awesome but ive only played 1 and it left me with mixed feelings.
Assassin's Creed 2 is so much better than one at basically everything. The only thing that I didn't think was just all around better was story. But that's not discrediting 2 as I just really like the story in the series and think they are on an even level. If you thought AssCree was a game that did some stuff right but had you chasing around too much random junk for no good reason and semi janky combat AssCree2 and Bro are pretty much going to be just what you are looking for.
So is there ever a point when I actually get to download teh games I payed for? I've been trying to download portal 2 for 3 days now. How can their servers be busy for three days straight? It's not loke I can queu it for download or anything since it won't even let me get that far. This is bullshit.
Is it bullshit when you go to Taco Bell at 12:30 and the place is packed?
How about when you go to the grocery store at 6:30 PM on Friday the 1st?
Try changing your download location to a country on the other side of the world and see if that boosts your download speeds.
It would be bullshit if they made you give them the money without telling you that you were going to have to wait in line for three days before you could get your Potatoes 2.
If they've already taken your money, you have every right to be upset that you haven't gotten a product in return.
Also, he's right about download queueing. It's stupid that you can't just tell it to download, and let it retry the connection every once in a while. You have to manually initiate it over and over until it works.
I don't know if it's possible to not know that the Steam servers are going to be wanged during a Steam sale. It happens during every major holiday or seasonal sale. All of them.
Not only that, but if you waited three days before trying to change your download location (which is what everyone does during a Steam sale), than I just don't know, man.
But we should probably ditch this tangent before we go back in time to 2004.
Is assbro playable if I don't have a gamepad? It looks really awesome but ive only played 1 and it left me with mixed feelings.
It threw me at first and took a bit to adjust since I played the other two on consoles but otherwise perfectly fine.
Edit: Also I agree that the first is the weakest of the series. I finally picked up Brotherhood and my only real complaint is I keep doing too much other fun stuff rather than advance the story. Which isn't really a complaint about the game.
Man, I bought like all the DLCs for all the games.
Shogun 2, Civilization 5, Just Cause, Gratuitous Space Battles, Magicka, Fallout: New Vegas, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Defense Grid, Fallout 3, Kane and Lynch 2, and RUSE.

Time to add that to my cart
I would've forgot about it if I wasn't adding the Civ5 Civilizations to my cart.
Anyone still in need of the Bayheimer/Don't look at explosions ticket in Monday Night Combat? I've been trying for the last hour and I'm just about at wit's end.
I am agonizing more over what to spend the last $10 of my Steam wallet sale budget on than I have over any of my other purchases so far (which totaled about $90).
I feel like I want to end the sale on a high note. But...but...there is nothing I really want badly in that price range.
This is a strange feeling.

So my cart right now contains...
Civ 5 Vikings
Shogun 2 Ikko Ikki clan
Magicka Frozen Lake, Final Frontier, Marshlands, and Party Robes
Gratuitous Space Battles Galactic Conquest, Nomads, Swarm, Order, Tribe
Ghost Master
and the Mawsome Pack
Keep waffling over some other things like the Heretic + Hexen Bundle, which I've added and removed from my cart three times now

The thing that keeps me from getting any of these Steam games during sales is that my comp can barely run anything anyway. I don't want to waste money buying them and having it not run: I usually "Can I Run It?" games first.

I actually never had download problems all sale until today.
Also, the games and the gifting and the contests are really fun, but I'm really excited over going from 16 steam friends to 65 in a week and the random conversations that pop up when someone sees you playing a game they need a recommendation for or random forum nonsense.
With that said, the contests are still really fun. In honor of the gentlefolkliness of this thread and the impending end of time to buy things on sale, I suggest a bit of sport.
CONTEST
I'm going to fire up Time Gentlemen, please! for an unspecified amount of time not exceeding 1/2 hour from 10:20 EST. The PM I receive closest to my exiting the game without going over wins the game (plus Ben there, Dan that). No going over. That means you can't watch my steam status and post after it turns blue.
Syberia games are good, not sure about any issues with 7 though (GoG has them as well I believe). The Steam release is only a few months old so I'd hope it wasn't borked.
So, out of the non-dailies, Syberia 1&2 for $7.50 is tempting me. Anyone have anything to say about them? Do they have any issues with win 7 64-bit?
Not a ton of help, but the first one, at least, plays nicely with WinXP, and it was a fun adventure game - particularly if you like clockwork machines. I was looking at them earlier and considered buying them even though I still have my discs. I feel like The Longest Journey pack was a better choice for me though as I have never played them.
Mine set me back around $25 as I'm running out of games to buy due to the last few sales.
Terraria
Lara Croft GOL DLC: Legacy of Kain Character Pack
Guardians of Graxia Elves and Dwarves Expansion
Atom Zombie Smasher
Eschalon: Book I
Eschalon Book II
Magicka Complete Pack
I'm still on the fence over picking up Painkiler Black Edition later today as I'm lacking in the funds department right now (I am in a lull between contracts).
Does paypal accept debit cards? I've tried using my debit card to buy things online before, but it never works. It's not mastercard/visa certified or whatever.

I finally ended up buying Portal 2 (finally) and you guys just sold me on Just Cause 2 with all DLc came to about 7.50$.
If retribution was still 7.50 I think I would have bite considering I have the original game and the first acheivement. Unfortuantely, Amazon.com won't sell me the digital copy since I am from canada. Wonder if they do an IP location or just know from my account.
So I think I behaved well with just Portal 2 and Just cause 2.

Can You Run it is nice, but I prefer the demo route. I've managed to get several games that technically shouldn't work going fine. Granted, it won't always be the ideal experience, but still, it's always worth checking demos out and testing things out.
Ok guys, so it appears I can't escape servin the newell.. I'm currently looking at my wishlist and Painkiller Black is 5 USD... Should I pull the trigger or is there a better version on steam? (The pack has like 4 games).

You can do what Figgy (I believe) did and ask someone in the US to buy it and send you the code in exchange for either paypal or a Steam gift of equal value.
Anyone have some sanctum left over from a pack? I want in..... despite hating the tower defense games in general
i can paypal or gift something in return.
Well, this saves me from running a contest, or something :rotate:
You are incredibly classy for sorting this out. Sadly chatting to someone on steam convinced me that I won't like the game so the gift is still up for grabs.

Ouch, looks like I spent somewhere in the order of $80 in Steam games
I have all the CnC3 games, all the X games, the id super pack...trying to think what else. Tomb Raider Guardian of Light, AI War, HoMM5 and Dark Messiah, and Prince of Persia.
Going to be glad when the metagame is done. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it, but it sorta screws with your mind a bit. Games I wanted to backlog are getting played over games I really want. I'm rushing through some of the longer achievements in games that would be a lot more fun if I took my time with them. I know I could just ignore the tickets I'm missing. But part of my brain won't let me.
Well I spent more than I wanted to but I really didn't buy much.
