couldn't help myself and picked up magicka complete and just cause 2 after I had successfully ignored them earlier. now I regret passing on recettear and cs:source.
Well, it was a tough choice. I got some really good entries in from everyone, but it was down to two real quality vids that I re-watched a second time to try and determine which was funnier.
Then it turned out one of the two finalists already owned the game and was just linking for fun.
So with that in mind, The Winner of my Just Cause 2 Bad Accent Contest is:
Scosglen!
Please accept my friend request so you can claim your prize!

oh, and I still have Dawn of War, the iD complete pack, and maybe Terraria to get.
the Newell just got all of my money. ALL OF IT.
Oh let me know how Winter Voices treats you. I am quite interested in that but reviews really killed it.
So, I think I'm actually going to grab Gratuitous Space Battles Pack + X-com over Vampire. I mean, the Space Battles pack is regularly $40, whereas on Vampire, I'd only be saving like $6, which makes it really not that huge of a deal to buy at full price somewhere down the line.

Hmm 53 dollars was my killing. Not too bad. I did most of it on a credit card. So I can pay it off whenever. I got a ton of games and content, so I consider it worth it. I spent like enough money for 1 console game and got enough gaming goodness to occupy me for prolly a year.
Anyone still on the fence on Just Cause 2 should know that I just jumped out of a helicopter, parachuted onto a brothel that happened to be attached to a blimp, hacked into a few laptops and stopped a bomb from blowing it up before stealing a plane to make my getaway. I then parachuted out of the plane to my next mission, where I hopped into a speedboat and blew up some smugglers with rockets.

Just a quick heads up for people getting "The game is busy" errors. Sometimes Steam uses that error when it can't access the data files (I've noticed it and windows often gets confused and winds up thinking a data file is in use and thus Steam can't access it.)
Restarting Steam and/or your computer can help. Also, try changing download locations in your settings.
Man, I've been waiting for Saint's Row 2 to go on daily for this whole sale. I think it means I've been spoiled when I say, "Only half off? Hmm..."
I know what you mean... I was waiting for it to drop to about $5 the whole time, and now I have to really think about if that extra $5 is worth it. Curse you sales for making me a stingy consumer!
Okay, the Chaos Contest is now closed for entries. I will now take my sweet ass time to randomly choose a winner and harass them for their email address.

So, I'm between 1701: Gold Edition and Dreamfall + Longest Journey. Which one?
I like economy/city builder games and I never get to play them.
BUT everyone seems to have an incredible hard-on for this adventure game series, and I'm not opposed to adventure games.
I can vouch that the older Anno games were great at disrupting sleep patterns. I am sure that the modern ones will be even better.
I think I'll go for that. It's such a rare gametype.
I really like that every review of The Longest Journey was "It will regrow limbs", I may just get that, for $2.50. Dreamfall got a lot more griping about annoying stuff.

Well I'm also not proud of spending over $200 over 10 days on computer games. This was my first full sale and I really need to work on my self control. All these people talking about their budgets and stuff. I mean really... it's just a sale right? Right? How hard can it be?
Oh well, live and learn. My next sale I am going in with a hard budget. Should be easier cuz I picked up so much stuff this time around.

Yeah, I mean
the best thing to do is you set a hard budget, and have a bit of wiggle room for like -90% off on something you didn't think of, like don't buy your lunch for a week or whatnot.

Just put away $20 bucks a week until the winter sale and you should be good. So long as they don't do the crazy indy bundles daily again...
Ok, it's time for a Sanctum MSPaint strategy meeting, huddle!
It's been awhile since I beat Mine on Medium with 100% of my core left, but IIRC it was something similar to this.
Those circles are lightning turrets
You can probably do a bit more with that upper section, but I pretty much left it alone in favor of upgrading my already existing gauntlet
Made sure to upgrade my assault to 6 by the end, and had all lightning turrets at 3-4 I want to say
Feel free to prostrate yourselves before both my strategic acumen and also my mad paint skills
Here's what I used. I think it was on Easy, but the general idea should apply; making them not necessarily run the longest route, but the route that takes them past the most block squares; thus, turrets. The wiggles up and down are where I used 2 blocks to make them wander back and forth, wasting time and increasing their time being fired on. The part they walk past on three sides were where I put my lightning turrets, the other place I stacked gun turrets. I haven't toyed much with mortars or scatter lasers. Teleport points similar to where the first campaign level put them help you stick with the mob, and be sure to keep your assault rifle and sniper rifle upgraded. I imagine the freeze rifle holds potential but I haven't really used it much.
Unrelated: uggggh, why is photobucket so fucking slow? I know there are a handful of other hosting sites out there, but I already have that set up.
I'd try it out now but I should be crashing shortly.
Edit: on further inspection, I do like how you loop the wave all the way back around to the beginning, and maybe I've screwed up and am not even getting as efficient a run as you have with that setup, but it worked like a charm earlier. ... now I'm tempted to try it out anyway. >.<

Okay, after serious and intent deliberation or perhaps just picking an entry at random, the winner of my slapdash Chaos Contest is...
The Penny Arcade forum server for its repeated and random "the server is too busy" entries! As requested, it wins a new copy of AI War.
But since I can't get it to accept my friend request, the runner-up winner is...
Tomanta!
While there were a lot of great entries, which involved owls, fire extinguishers, Abraham Lincoln, unintentional impromptu "To Catch A Predator" re-enactments, movie quotes, and musical theater, I am a sucker for people turning lemons into lemonade so even though it doesn't really fit the chaos theme, his entry about a woman who, after losing her eye in a car accident, wants to replace it with a prosthetic cyborg eye camera wins a snazzy copy of Borderlands!
Bought:
Terraria
Dawn of War 2 Gold
Greed Corp.
Borderlands GOTY
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Jamestown
Half Life 2: Episodes 1 and 2
Kings Bounty: Crossworlds

Jamestown
The only thing I didn't pick up was Metro 2033. I'm sad it didn't go on a daily, but I'll just have to find the strength to go on until the next sale. The other games I wanted that didn't go on sale at all were Deathspank and FEAR 2.

I debated if parodies were eligible, but ultimately they were both too funny to ignore.

Same here. I thought I had convinced myself to pass, but here I am downloading the demo...
