So I was dropping my friends off at the airport, as we were a few miles away the oil light came on. This is nothing new since my car is slightly old 1996 Corola, with near 200k miles on it, whenever I get the oil changed, the light would come on about a week or 2 later..which usualy meant i had to pump more oil in it. So the light came on, i dropped them off, then started returning looking for an exit so I could go get some oil and then came the loud clunking and smoke and I knew before I even pulled over, the engine was blown. Had it towed to a local mechanic shop and got a ride home. So now I have till monday when the owner is there to decide what to do with the car. The tow truck driver said its possible the owner would give me $100 for it...

Is there anything else I can do? Where would i start?

Selling it to the junkyard is about all you can do. That engine is done.

What you can do is to keep oil in your car in the future.

yeah man, you might get some cash for scrapping it, but that car is kaput.

Time to start shopping around for ye olde new car.

For future reference, if the oil light ever comes on in a car, it means stop driving now. Not "Oh one more mile", or "Oh ill just drive around the block to get oil", now. Without oil, an engine seizes up real fucking fast. Even oil starvation to one section of the engine for a brief period of time (a few seconds) can cause catastrophic damage.

You've got two options, really. 1) Sell it to a junkyard, as has been said, or 2) go to a junkyard and get a replacement engine for it. For a 200K-mile Corolla, (2) is only cost-effective if you can do the work yourself (and actually enjoy it), because the labor cost from a mechanic for an engine replacement would probably be more than the resulting car is worth.

A Corolla with 200k miles on it isn't worth shit in America. Scrap value only.

So spending $1500+ for having a reconditioned engine swapped in would be a waste of money, and even then you've still got a 200k mile old car, with all the other componentry just about worn out as well.

It sounds like the motor was proper rooted as well, it was burning a LOT of oil... You shouldn't have to put more than a quart of oil per 10000 miles in a modern 4 cylinder engine. Even that much would be suspicious to me...

Best bet is to save your pennies and get a much younger car when you can. Nothing fundamentally wrong with a Corolla, they're pretty good, if rather bland, small cars. Perhaps a Mazda 3/Ford Focus this time?
