The battery for my 120 gb zune doesn't hold its charge anymore and in order for it to play it needs to be plugged in at all times. I bought a new replacement battery from batteryship.com and it came within the time it said but when I connected the battery by soldering all the wires to the correct locations and plugged it in, the charge screen would come up then disappear - is there a program within the factory battery? HELP
It may be that the battery came with absolutely zero charge and you need to charge it up a bit before you see the full charging screen. wheb my 3rd gen 120 gb loses all charge, you can see a faint outline of a battery with a lightning bolt through it until it gets enough power to turn on.
other options are that you connected it wrong or the battery is defective.
That's the problem the charge screen will come up but then will fade away I've had this zune for a little over a year...i guess i just have to buy another battery
Batteries in Zunes aren't replaceable. If there's no physical damage I'd recommend contacting Zune support. They've replaced mine completely for free twice now and I've had it for about three years.

If he's been soldering things inside his Zune, I don't know if customer support will be willing to do anything.
