not that you're wrong or anything stupid, but zerg can devour the map in half the time of the other races. maybe try and make that your goal... make them come kill you, and if they don't or if they fail, take some more of the map and wait for them to come again. the onus is on them.
TDA the problem for zerg is getting a fast third vs a few terran or protoss strategies and how defendable the third is for protoss (pretty decent with a PF for terran).
It is managable but annoying.
There are a lot of annoying chokes on Typhon that zerg get pissy with. I have Typhon downvoted because of it, I could probably shift to a much more infestor heavy style of play an abuse that though.
E: Having your opponent 90 degrees clockwise of you in ZvT TDA is really annoying.

I've tried doing it like that, but I end up getting caught up in SimCity and then they show up with eight Collossi and I have 130 drones and seven Hydras and die.
Really I feel like if I played on them more often I'd be okay, but apparently almost everyone else in Bronze veto'd them so it was never much of an issue.
The other thing I hate about huge maps is that there's so much more room for people to do stupid proxy bullshit and scouting as Zerg (especially early game, especially on a map that big, especially for someone who sucks as epicly as I do) is hard.

I never veto any maps (excepting Desert Oasis in the beginning). I don't really mind most of them, and it isn't like there is a map that has a 100% winrate for a race (is there?) so I might as well play them all.

I don't veto Tal'Darim because its one of the few maps that I know I always do the same build on regardless of spawn position or what my opponent does. Forge FE vs Zerg, 20 Nexus PvT and 4gate PvP.

So done all my placement matches on the NA server and SEA server for both accounts.
On my terran account back to Diamond for both servers and back to Masters on both for Protoss.
I wonder which account I will mainly ladder with. SEA has better latency but I can't spot people coming into PA for custom games on SEA.
Also hopefully the relocalizer is updated for 1.3.5 soon and I can go back onto the KR server.

won my placement. thought I lost it too, he did a one base tank/marine/vikings and got good position. then I tried to take out his vikings with my equal viking count and pdd (one of mine was injured hence the pdd) but the pdd didn't drop! I was so pissed
but then I scanned and saw his two tanks... even him taking out my star port and one factory I still overwhelmed him really easily. (edit - wait, no I had to pull scvs but I only lost a few and I was already on 2 base to his 1. well worth it.)
so the early one base attacks I was scared of are getting less and less scary. yay.
early raven+viking is amazing. nothing better than having no fear of a banshee. turrets are absolutely not good enough to deal with them.
1/1/1 is tricky, because there are lots of ways to make units from your 1/1/1
Most common is marine/tank/medivac pushing with 8or so marines a tank and a medivac
Or hellion drop
Or marine/hellion/banshee
Or marauder/hellion/viking
Basically you can do whatever

But I'm not really sure how to transition into an expansion from 1/1/1, also not really sure when to grab a third, and also not really sure when to attack.
I just started laddering again after taking a break last season and it placed me in Diamond... Bleh. I don't think I am ready for this. Trial by fire, I guess.

So many people there that don't seem to comprehend that you are very unlikely to change leagues unless you were already doing better/worse than you were before. The placement match does change your MMR (as far as we know) but not by a huge degree. There are people who are genuinely confused as to why they got demoted when they won their placement match, or vice versa, people confused about being promoted despite losing.

Frankly because I have a horrible win rate on it PvZ (apparently this is true at high levels as well, didn't Blizzard say Zerg has a 60% win rate on TDA?). More specific annoyances:
-Really big pain to scout for hidden expansions because there are so many possibilities--often getting abused by greedy Zerg because I don't have the hand speed to keep up yet.
-@#$%ing destructible rocks at the third (not a problem unique to TDA but a point against it nonetheless)
-I don't like engaging in wide open spaces, they make it much harder to land good forcefields.

One of the silliest things I ever did on TDA was have this great idea to pylon block all potential hidden expansions.
What I've learned from watching Puzzle stream today is that, besides being ridiculously good in general, he can hold off early protoss cheese really well.
