I just noticed you don't have STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.
You may wish to consider purchasing it.
I've heard such good things about that game.
I just spent 15 on DoW though
I'll add it to my wishlist and hope it goes on sale for the next superbigwtfblowoutspecial
Yeah, I've got the monkey island games on XBLA. Longest Journey sounds vaguely familiar.
Let me be perfectly clear.
I love adventure games. They are probably my all time favorite genre. I cut my gaming teeth on them. Hell, the very first computer game I owned on my very first computer (an Apple IIC) was Kings Quest Ii. They are near and dear to my heart.
With that in mind, listen closely: If you enjoy adventure games AT ALL, buy The Longest Journey. It is an absolute masterpiece. Beautiful art, puzzles that actually don't involve moonlogic, voice acting that is better than most modern games and a truly fantastic story.
Buy it. Do it now.
The fact that its sequel, Dreamfall, another fantastic game, will never get it's sequel (Dreamfall Chapters is basically vaporware at this point) is a goddamn war crime on par with the cancellation of Firefly.
If you like adventure games and DON'T enjoy TLJ, I will gift you a game of equivilant price. It's that good.

I am going to preorder Skyrim and get the Quakecon bundle. Cant decide if I want Rage too and effectively get it for $45
For my part, I think RAGE is looking great
That said, I don't like the look of the competitive multiplayer, so I'll probably wait for a sale to get it (Though, depending on circumstances I may end up grabbing it sooner due to cooperative multi)
hmmm... Ill hold off on Rage I guess. I probably wont end up with time to play it until after Christmas anyway, so I can just wait for the next big sale, or if they do a 4 pack deal maybe.

Yeah, I think it's looking pretty awesome too. The general attitude around here is that people are thinking that it's going to feel too much like Borderlands to warrant buying it around release. I think that Rage is going to leave Borderlands behind in a lot of ways. id is known for well polished, tightly interlocking weapons and shooting mechanics, polished movement and a solid engine. Borderlands pretty much has none of that, even after some updates. The graphics engine is still glitchy, the movement and shooting feel inconsistent and uneven, and Borderlands if full of half baked mechanics and concepts. I enjoyed Borderlands, and think at the end of the day it's a fun game, but I think that's more of a fluke than anything else. Of course, YMMV, but I think Rage is going to be the tighter, more polished game when it comes down to it.
And yeah, I don't think I'll be able to spring 60 bucks for the game in September, no matter how much I love id or want the game. I'm hoping to pick it up around Christmas time.

I'm vaguely tempted by Rage, but the $60 price tag and the fact that it's launching when I'll be back in school are dampening my enthusiasm. That and I'm unsure my rapidly aging PC will actually be able to run it.
It does look a lot like "Borderlands, but serious", and since I was intrigued by Borderlands before they frosted it with cel-shaded silliness I'm still intrigued by Rage.
The Quakecon bundle, depending a bit on how many chunks of it you already have, is a fabulous deal either way.
Well... Went ahead and got the QuakeCon pack and Preordered Skyrim.
I didnt have Brink, Hunted, Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 GOTY (had the original, none of the expansions though), or any of the Fallout NV expansions. So I figure the QuakeCon pack was well worth it just for that.

I'm still considering the QuakeCon pack despite owning all the Doom games, BRINK, Fallout New Vegas and the first two DLC, Call of Cthulhu, all the Heretic+Hexen games, and Oblivion. (And Morrowind, but not on Steam)
So I'd be getting... Hunted, Fallout 3 GOTY (I already have Fallout 3 with all DLC on 360, but I've been kind of wanting to get a PC copy), Commander Keen, the Wolfenstein games, all the Quake games, Old World Blues, and ugh, Rogue Warrior.
ezQuake is currently my favorite Quake sourceport.
I can't say enough good things about the Quake Darkplaces source port. It really feels more true to the original game to me over the other source ports I've tried (including EZ Quake.)

Well, I guess you can take consolation that you can listen to Mickey Rourke spit some sweet lines in the credits.

Ditto, plus it integrates seamlessly with Steam versions of Quake and has the soundtrack built-in. I gave nQuake (basically ezQuake) a try and I'll admit that if I ever want to play a super-pretty version of Quake, that's probably where I'll go.
Since new page, if anyone that preorderd Skyrim would want a 10 dollar game of your choice in exchange for trading me the Elder Scrolls pack (since you get 5 dollars off) please hit me up on Steam or send a PM.
Sorted. You should receive the pack through Steam.

Any idea if it's a steamworks game? I can get it online for.... .98 pounds.. whatever that equates to in our money. much better than the 10 bucks on steam. I'm really trying to NOT go over my 20 dollar budget, and i spent 15 on retribution.
And yes, Dreamfall tops my list of games that need a sequel. Nothing else comes close that I can think of.

uuuuuugh i'm so mad
I really want to replay Knights of the Old Republic 1 and I had thought I'd bought it during the numerous times it has gone on sale for 5 bucks or even 2.50
sadly I did not
i really don't feel like paying 10 bucks for it
uuuuuuuuuuuuugh
Would anyone be up for a "My Skyrim helmet for your 'The Original'" rocket trade? I really, really want that rocket, but don't want to spend $20 for Quake IV alone and own basically every other id / Bethesda game.
If this is the case, then it's pretty much a no brainer
Now that the quake/doom pack is over, I really DO want the quakecon pack, but it's like the engineer is staring into my soul just uttering "Nope" over and over. Then the soldier taunts me with the original, Then I get sad. Oh well. No use crying over spilt milk I guess. Just gotta hope for next year...

Alright I'm going to ask this in here being the closest to a general PC gaming thread
Does anyone use one of those gaming pads with shaped WASD buttons?
I sometimes have this pain in my upper left arm which I wonder might be fixed with some fancy ergonomic stuff. It only happens occasionally but today it is killing me, and I saw a keyboard today which made me start thinking about getting one.
@Maddoc, I'm in the same boat with the Quakecon pack. I have New Vegas, the elder scrolls games and all the quake titles other than the fourth. Actually it would be a great deal for me but its a big sum of money To part with not to mention I wouldn't get around to playing them for a while.
I can wait till next year when they might even throw a few more gamers in there!
probably not, bit thinking it helps ease the pain a little
So! Here's a question. If someone buys Skyrim, Rage or both, and then tries to gift someone else the Quakecon pack, do you still get the discounted price? IE, could I pay someone else whos already done the preordering to get a cheaper Quakecon pack?

Jeez. I just looked at the full Quakecon bundle. There's a lot of games there that I didn't even know were on Steam, games from my childhood that I always wanted to own and beat.

I CLICKED EDIT. NOT QUOTE. Damn thing.
There is usually a deal of the day on STALKER games during the Mega-Sales.
Is Rage looking at all worth getting?
