I had forgotten what it felt like to destroy a team feels like with Cho'Gath. Granted, our PA group all pulled our own weights against a bad team, but there were some pretty clutch plays by everyone that made the game tons of fun. Like, Rupturing where Kassadin was porting to and us converging on him in no time. Or Gangplank ult on the low hp Yi and Mundo on top lane to ease the killing spree. Good times.
EDIT: I don't bother with Clarity on anyone nowadays. Clarity becomes useless after midgame unless people run a caster without mp regen runes. Teleport gives you way more utility AND technically you regen your mana to full if you go back then teleport back to lane.
Dude we played with Mooman last night. He runs clarity on every AP character including Cho, Sion, and Heimer. Also last night's game was super fun.
So this is an argument against clarity right?
It's neither. Clarity can be worthwhile, and Mooman is a good player. Just making the point that sweeping statement that we never see clarity on good players is wrong. Also probably quoted the wrong person, someone else (not Arikado) said that they never see Clarity any more.

I know this was a bit ago but all the talk about Blitz and I just had a very bizarre game involving one. Ranked around 1200, dude 3rd picks blitz, says he knows that he is doing. Proceeds to feed bottom lane blitz/nid vs cait/jax. I mean feed like 0/6 in 10 minutes. Then team fights start and the guy goes legendary twice. As in hits legendary, dies, then hits it again. We still lost but it was bizarre how incredibly much better he got. Tower diving to kill cait, rammus, and kass. Just insane pulls.
I can see how he wouldn't do super well in that lane, I usually depend on having someone with me that can either get a kill or at least send someone back when I get a good grab, which I don't really see Nid doing, and I'm not going to get a good grab against a decent cait or jax.
I tried duo queuing, I think matchmaking really shits on that sort of stuff. I wonder what the biggest the elo differential can get between the two duo queuers before it starts wanting to punish your a-hole

If you want to learn more, search ELO and Chess. The guy, (conveniently named Elo)
That's why it's actually called Elo not ELO
If you can convince the entire LoL community to pronounce it Elo instead of E-L-O, I'll get on board with that one.
Until then: Fucks not given
I mean, of the petty things to argue about. (I can pull a lot of pronunciation quirks on Americans, Brits, Canadians, French, and Germans alike if we'd like to go down that road, but I'll abstain if you will.)
So i was just watching a video and somebody commented that they were "a high apm player". I normally play starcraft so i get what that means but what the hell does it entail in this game, is he able to click in a circle 500 times a minute? a stream i was watching last night even said something about "korean apm".
It just seems like it works so well on him. Arm Pen, CDR, GP5 (in the avarice blade as you build it), and the freaking move speed active on top of his movespeed skill. I will try it tonight, I think.

It works pretty well in my experience. I tend to get ghostblade on just about every melee ad character. The active is also very useful for when im split pushing towers with Nocturne.
Also so help me god if I see another terrible pirate build manamune on fucking Pirate I will lose it. Why , JUST WHY!?
So guys, why do I never see ghostblade on pirate? It seems like it would be super boss
Probably gets edged out by the phantom dancer and the game won't last long enough to get them both, zeal tends to be a rather good building block as well.

Because it is in the recommended tab and looks sword-like, people are silly.
is it just me or does early morning LoLing just really suck? it seems like the troll rate is tripled
One day you will look in the mirror and realize that all along... the troll was you!
edit: Also, if I recall correctly, manamune is a fairly efficient item in terms of gold per point AD, and a lot of people do have mana issues with GP; usually because they spam a little too much, but that's neither here nor there...

Are you referring to our singed/fiddles game? It was fairly
Yeah, zeal is a great item. Every ranged carry should get one, they're cheap and movespeed is boss (on top of the crit)
I duo'd with Melkster last night and it was fine. That said, TF wasn't banned and enemy first picked mordekaiser. One would think this wouldn't happen at 1300's, but it did.
So I just 2nd picked TF for melk and I took Sivir and then it was gg. Our team played well too though. Team was TF, Nocturne, Poppy, Leona, Sivir.
We were literally team ultimate tower dive

I've actually been playing with a few people ~1200 elo, and it always seems like the opposing team was genetically engineered to penetrate my ass
Yeah. I'm hoping Lee Sin is going to be good enough for me to carry myself out of the pit once I get a little more used to him, but I'm not sure. I tend to get a lot of fairly bad teams
The frustrating thing is that I'm trying to play normals to get better but it's almost always a complete shit show. Either the team does extremely well and I go 15/3 or 16/0 or something silly and destroy everyone or my team gets blown out in dramatic fashion. It feels like there's always a huge skill gap such that it's very difficult to learn what you're doing wrong and what bad habits you have

Running into the same problem myself , its just the way normals are.

Haha. Well, early game clarity or the game last night with double clarity in a lane isn't something to scoff at. I was speaking in terms of late game. That game last night we had double clarity on bottom lane and me 2v1 top on Cho with flash/tele. So they both worked.

Not sure why a captain wouldn't pick Mordekaiser? He is a dominating laner who should be able to crush TF in a lane. I sometimes leave TF unbanned so that when the enemy team picks him I can pick a strong counter to lane against him.
edit: Preferably someone who can also crush a tower while he goes to gank.

Someone was being a daft bugger and trying to apply something from one game to another. APM is practically meaningless in LoL when held in comparison to games where APM actually matters (RTS games like SC2 and the like). Guy thought it would probably make himself awesome to claim a high APM. Next he'll be talking about how good his yomi is.
I can see how he wouldn't do super well in that lane, I usually depend on having someone with me that can either get a kill or at least send someone back when I get a good grab, which I don't really see Nid doing, and I'm not going to get a good grab against a decent cait or jax.
Nidalee shouldnt need a grab to send anyone back with that spear. I land a few of those skillshots and someone is going back. Pre level 6, if I had a blitz getting good grabs I would just chill further back to increase the spear range as its damage goes bonkers according to distance... and with a blitz grab you dont have to predict anything on its aim. After level 6... haha, a blitz grab should be a 99% gauranteed kill with nidalee there.
My favorite is nidalee and anyone smart with clairvoyance. Soon as the harass makes them back off and try to blue pill, just CV where they wont see it and you think they are... spear outta fucking no where through the wall and they are dead. If I'm in a lane against a nidalee, I never recall within the distance of where she can land that thing... its all to easy for her to just pounce over the right spots to snipe you from the jungle.

If I remember rightly, the first 10 games you play in Ranked give you very large amounts of elo gain/loss. So for your first few games, if you can find someone decent to duo with, you can quickly get out of the 1200s where you're more likely to meet trolls/newbies and into the 1400s which is a little bit better.
Just played 40ish minute game as Twisted Fate. He is really fun to play and is definitely going to be my next purchase when I get the IP. However...how I do play him? What sort of style does he benefit the most from? I just got the recommended items and sort of dicked around all game. I used my ultimate to kill of low hp players on the retreat, or escape when I was 1v3 or something, but I don't really know where he's supposed to shine.

I did my first 10 ranked games for giggles. Went 6wins 4losses. I first I was just trying to go sona for easy wins as ward control can do that... but you get this mix of players that are just like starting out at level 1 summoner in normal games, where they understand no concept at all. So I did nidalee for most of them after a few losses with sona, no deaths with nidalee at all, just picked people off as they over extended, then blew up towers and nexus. Was a joke. I think after the 10 I ended up with 1256 Elo. I dont get mad at the game or players at all, so I might grind out some more, dont know yet... lots of invites for just normal games with decent players.
So do we have a lot of EU bros here? My summoner name is bonertown, just won a 50 minute match, damn. My skills were pretty mediocre to be honest though. My team were a bunch of real dudes though, no whining at all.
Went 6/10/15. So yeah. edit: what runes are optimal on gangplank anyway?
Had the weirdest game. Playing with a level 19 friend of mine (i'm 24) we duo queue and get into a game. We win pretty quickly in like 28 minutes. Get to the scoreboard, and the opposing team's Anivia didn't buy anything. At all. I mean hes only level 14 (They had the rest upper 30s) but how do you get that high without buying any items? Level 14 is a really low level to start trolling games, especially normals. Weeeeird.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

Most people use the standard AD rune set ( armor pen quints /reds /flat armor yellow/ scaling MR blue) . Attack speed blue is also an option for applying his passive that much quicker.
Earlier today, ranked game, crash at champ select and when I log in it won't let me see the game - 0-0-0 leave with Vlad. Just now, ranked game as Irelia, 25 mins into the game, lag, restart, no sign of the game. I guess it would be another leave. So, my advice is don't play ranked today. The servers are absolutely messed up.

If it doesn't show up in your match history I don't think it counts against you. It probably kicked everyone out .
As an additional first world problems post, man those 50 minute games take it out of you. More than say TF2 would.
Fuck man , wait till you lose an hour long game , it just kills any and every desire to play the game . At least for me.
Hah yeah those are usually what trigger my 3 month absences from LoL. Also is there a single best nuker in the game? I love throwing my A with annie and just seeing a fourth of some dudes health go away

This is one of the reasons I'm having such a slow time leveling. With lower level players (I imagine this is a main reason), almost every game takes close to an hour, which frankly I don't have the time for!
There's no way to tell that a thread has been locked without getting into it? That's stupid. I was wondering why there were no responses to the other in my bookmarks. =\

I mean there's that guy on the PA forum who's been recommending Ghostblade on Gangplank for a long, long time.
What was his name again?
