So has anyone figured out leona's secret passive yet?
I know a couple, like nids secret passive, and the secret passive on all ninjas.
@jars were just going to have to heavily disagree about lux. Lux isnt your typical ap caster, that is all.
What is the secret passive on the ninjas? I know they have that 'Flippin Ninja' thing, but no idea what it does. Or is it just like flavor like Gangplanks 'Pirate' or Miss Fortunes 'Pirate Hunter'?

Each ninja gives each other ninja on his team -1 hp, in order to conform to the Law of Conservation of Ninjitsu
nids secret is like her lane partner(s) gets +5 exp when she levels while in cougar form if her lane partner(s) is(are) a lower level than she is. I'm going off the top of my head with that one, so i might be a little off.
Secret passives are almost entirely worthless and usually have a bunch of silly requirements for them to work. The ninja one is probably the most obvious out of all of them.
Its also worth noting that smart casting is nearly a requirement for brand.
Smart casting?
Spells like Skillshots will instantly be cast towards your mouse cursor instead of having to aim and click. It's an option somewhere in one of the menus to have all spells do that.

I take it the downside is you don't know the range of your spells before you cast them.

Well you have to know the range of your skill shots yeah. The thing with smart casting is it lets you get off spells a lot faster, which is great on combo champs, or anyone really.
Brand build is pretty much just a standard AP caster build.
I'm a terrible person and will never be able to use smart casting. This will more than likely keep me out of high ELO as well.
I am always losing track of my cursor. It blends into the terrain way, way too easily. I need to hit my skill so I can see the bright blue reticule before casting.
It sucks, because I know it's totally going to hold me back one of these days, if it isn't already.
Played Cass for the first time in a real match today and rather enjoyed her, but did pretty bad. I'm thinking I need to give this smart casting thing a try.
smartcasting isn't that important and i used to do it and i feel like it screwed me up a lot so i stopped
better to take your time and aim things normally rather than just assuming you know the range by heart
i do really like sokpuppet's idea where he smartcasts cass's ult, because the fraction of a second you take aiming it can actually really effect whether or not you stun a person or not
Smartcasting is completely a personal preferencing thing and a lot of professional players don't do it all the time either, so I wouldn't stress about doing it. Just do what makes you a better player. If you get better results casting like you're used to, do that!

That sounds like a good idea - I was botching her ultimate left and right.
Unfortunately, the "I lose track of my cursor because my visual acuity is only marginally better than Stevie Wonder"-thing extends into other aspects of the game.
Such as:
Clicking a completely fubar area to move towards
Right-clicking to attack the wrong champion
etc.
The only things that have made me better recently are playing champs that depend heavily on the use of Flash. That alone has made me much better about finding my cursor.
but don't let that stop you either from smartcasting, i doubt it's a cause-effect relationship
just do whatever you're most comfortable and accurate with
now i just wish there was a way to turn off smartcasting from flash

Teams keep not even losing but surrendering randomly to me. It's kind of nice but also super confusing. It's like we're up 3 kills and a tower, maybe they even win a teamfight, then boom, surrender 4-1. PA people are in the games too so I know I'm not going crazy! What's haaaaaaaaaappening!

Thinking about this situation made me think of an absolutely absurd, but potentially hilarious/rage filled answer to problems Riot has with Flash.
Make it teleport you in a random direction from where you clicked. The closer the randomly generated direction is to the direction you chose, the further away it will flash you. The same holds true for the opposite direction.
So you'll either get ported very far way in the direction you choose, or opposite of it, or you'll move barely at all, 90 degrees in relation to the direction you choose, with varying levels in between. (IE, Flash range would be shaped like an ellipse, with the game choosing the direction. Hilarity ensues.)
There are certain times when smartcasting is clearly superior and the E on Cass is on of those, her burst goes through the roof when you can just hold your mouse over a player and mash E instead of timing your shots.
I've actually never played a support besides Janna, and I really didn't like her style. Thinking about picking up Sona, is she fun at all?
I think sona is effective though boring as shit, but thats just me
you just kinda press all your buttons and watch stuff happen sans ult
The problem/good thing about Sona is only her ult is targetted. Her heal just goes to the most injured person and her q goes to the prioritizes champs then minions. This means in battle you can just spam q w e or q w depending and still contribute.

She's pretty boring, but good lord is she a force multiplier, it's amazing how she elevates shitty teams to wrecking status.

but decided to hold off and think about it
now i don't know what i want to do
Get Brand
Cast combos
Burn all the mother fuckers to death.

It is? He isn't nearly as spammy as other smartcast champions (Cassiopeia) and I'll be fucked if I can properly aim his Q without seeing the guide.
(speaking of Brand I'm gonna play him tonight but I've forgotten what his critical items are, send help)
RoA and or rhylais, deathcap, void staff, whatever
the usual caster fare
Also also was the Catalyst nerfed recently? Felt like it wasn't doing much for my lane sustainability last time I tried it.
99% sure it still works.

The only change to the Catalyst proc was that it became an over-time heal rather than an immediate burst of health.

I find it really helpful on burst champs where I want to blow my load in half a second.
