Oh, gee... Sexual-based culture is a concept I can't wrap my head around in any way that doesn't depress or sadden me. Like, I always figured it was more a response to isolation and biggotry, and apparently it's... Not.
I wanna be able to hang out with a bunch of gay bros and brosephines, and not feel like there's a distinction.
My situation was interesting in that I had a really awesomely diverse group of gay friends. Super fruit on one end and hardcore Death Metal bass player who would never once pass off as gay on the other.
Also one of my best straight female friends and one of my best gay male friends who were even more best friends than I was with them would more than often get drunk and bump uglies cause they needed it.
At that point in time in my life, I basically said fuck it, it don't matter one iota to me.
I mean, I... I don't really see anybody's struggle as a minority as different from mine. I think, at the very least, minority groups need to stop making distinctions amongst eachother. The sooner we consolidate, the sooner we can kill straight whitey, is my (over-simplified) take on it. More like, the sooner straight whitey might have to recognise others as NOT others.
Also, everybody likes to fuck. And the FuckSpectrum is so much more diverse than hetero/homo, that that particular distinction is monumentally silly.
Fucking bring it, minorities in majority! BRING IT!

well, yeah, but as things get less shitty the common bond will be less strong
which is a good thing, I think
I don't like the idea of gay people being something seperate
I like integration
I'd like sexual orientation not being "Yes, I am of the gay tribe." and more "okay so you want a gigolo or a hooker?"
I'd like there to not be negative consequences for being the Other. That doesn't mean I want to lose community. Belonging to a community does bring good things as well.
To those asking "why do you care" about the gay-cheating thing...
If somebody is cheating with a partner of the same sex as their primary partner, then it might be due to a temporary loss of willpower, problems at home, or some combination thereof. (Even if it's not, the cheater can play it off like it is.) Somebody who is gay & cheating doesn't have those easy outs. Outing somebody for being gay in addition to cheating forces them to, at least, confront their own identity; more likely to confront even more difficult and prying questions from family members. If there are children involved, it might affect child custody. If the person lives in a particularly homophobic community, it might have ripple effects at the person's job, or even subject that person to violence.
I'm not saying that this necessarily pushes the decision in either direction; I'm just saying that it complicates the calculus.
Feral on
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

It does not complicate it one iota re: none of your business
if anything it makes revealing it even less of a good reason since you'll fuck with his life even more
nstf was good for conversation sometimes, and then he'd go completely off the deep end and insist, for instance, that every single progressive hated the military and everyone in it. Nothing was enough to convince him how ridiculous this was, including pointing out that several prominent progressives, like Wesley Clark, Jack Murtha, and Markos, were in the military.

Seriously Feral, the fuck?
"Outing him could ruin every aspect of his life - but at least he'd be confronting his own identity"
Somehow I detect an imbalance of good versus bad here.
Well fuck me crab walking. I figured ITV was another shitty apple product.
ITV is the place where British shows of horrible come from.
It is explicitly television for the stupid class.
And they have the UK broadcast rights for the Tour De France.
Which means they are preventing me from watching what appears to have been the decisive stage this year.
My stomach is full of anger and I want to take my revenge.
That must have been a complete fluke.
I mean, wtf - how'd they get those broadcasting rights?
It coincided with Sky dumping money into the sport and a surge of UK interest in cycling. Since the UK isn't really the core audience it was probably worthwhile financially. Still stuck with Eurosport for the other Grand Tours, though at least their streaming works.

I think it's bullshit but I feel like we need to educate anyway just in case.
