I was driving some out-of-towner friends around, and I kept complaining about being blinded. They responded with "You see, where we come from, people tend to wear Sunglasses." I retorted with a simple "You people tend to have sun."
This has actually been discussed before. Unfortunately with such a large potential crowd of totally random people, it is impossible to be able to control something like this enough so that it would be guaranteed to not be accidentally dangerous.
Yeah I understand. That's why it has to be kind of a spontaneous culture of "one-offs", and not an organized effort like mavrick88's video. Like high-fives: you do it, maybe someone will respond, that's all there is to it.
I actually think that being spontaneous would be more likely to be dangerous, even on a small scale. Pretending to be shot and falling down in a busy area = bad.

Sadly, must agree that it is not a good idea for security reasons. Also, you can't force spontaneity.
All very valid points on safety. So how 'bout this. If someone walks up to you and starts talking like Pegg, you have to be Frost and it will still be an inside joke.

Yeah! That guy is the spirit of the whole city! Even if it's just a one-second "Uwah!", it'd be super awesome.
That is a great idea. We should all give each other high fives! (Also, we should all wash our hands often.)
