Now when you listen to this one, remember that DEFCON is a game about thermonuclear war.
So you have to imagine the sounds of people dying of radiation sickness off in the distance. People choking and coughing on bile, and women and children crying out for help that can never come.
I doubt you did because during a regular deathmatch game, there is a power-up your engineer's can collect, that summons the sub marines from DEFCON to pop out of the digi-water and fire SRBMs at the map you are playing on.

There is an upbeat and frenetic feel about this that fits the game so well, I wish more developers would put this kind of energy into their game music.
Of course the final wrap up music is brilliant and gives the whole thing an epic sweeping feel. Sega's sound team fucking out-did themselves in a big way here.

Those sounds literally play while you are playing, its kind of fucked.

I know a large group of people disliked much of Sonic Unleashed, but one thing that was amazing about it was definitely it's soundtrack.

The bass in this one is fantastic with a surround setup, once again it compliments the pace and urgency of the level well.
