We seem to have an awfully small gathering from what I can see in terms of attendees going to PAX this year. Am I flying solo? Is anyone at least meeting me at Chicago on flight AA 415 on Thursday at 11:45am?
Mods - I know there are airport meetup threads, this isn't for that. This is more of a discussion on Canadians NOT from Vancouver travelling to PAX this year.

If this is a discussion for all paxers going from eastern canada, you should edit your post to reflect that it's not just for people flying out of one airport.

Fair enough. I wanted to highlight this airport since its the major hub for eastern Canadian flights and thus the most likely people to be flying out of that airport. Even if you start in somewhere like Montreal, most flights will still stop in Toronto.

Well, not everybody is going to be on the exact same flight as you. If you're looking for people on that exact flight, you should use one of the existing airport threads.

Point taken.
Back to the discussion, anyone from Eastern Canada going to PAX? lol
Representing from the center of the universe here. I too as well connect in Chicago with my flight, however I leave for PAX on Wednesday and not Thursday. We may have the same flight on the way back though? I leave Seattle at 11:20 (somewhere around there) and connect in Chicago again on my way home to Toronto.

Sounds like the same flight for sure. With AA? Likely only 1 AA leaving around that time going to those airports.
Since the Jets and Bombers are in their respective Eastern Conferences, I'll say that Winnipeg is Eastern Canada. :O
I'm flying out of Winnipeg on the 23rd, since I wanna be all vacationy and stuff.
Go Jets Go!
I'm from Winnipeg, but I'm going to end up with the Vancouver crew for travel as I'm flying there on Tuesday and taking the train down on Thursday. Meeting up with a buddy from Australia there.
I'll be coming from Ottawa solo too. Flying in Thursday, leaving Sunday I think. Last year was my first PAX, I went to PAX East this year too, but I like the one in Seattle much better.
I must have missed it. The group I'm coming with are all friends, most of us met while working at EB games actually. For 3 of us, it's our 3rd consecutive PAX, but the other 5 are first timers. Unfortunately I think I'm the only one who really frequents the PA forums. Should you feel like hanging out with some fellow 'Peggers just shoot me PM.
Oh and just an FYI, don't know if you're interested but it appears as of this morning the Protomen have officially booked a show in Winnipeg for Spetember 1st. I'm pretty pumped about that!
Yeah it'd be awesome if you came out. I've been talking to Murphey since East about booking a show here, and helped them find the venue (The Pyramid, btw). I'm hoping for a big turnout so I don't feel like an Asshat O_o
Oh.... my poor, poor Argos... how I had such high hopes. You'd think I'd know by now I can never ever trust a Toronto team to do anything. Alas, at least the Jays/Leafs might actually have something the next few years. (And thus the cycle continues.)

United Airlines 278 is my flight out on Monday. If it's the same flight I'm sure we can work some voodoo magic and get seats beside each other. I remember getting another PAXer on my flight out of Boston and it was amazing just talking about the weekend with a total stranger. Seriously made the flight feel like nothing at all. Nothing at all. Nothing at all.
Winnipeeeeeeg, represent! My two brosefs and I will be flying in on the 25th and then back on the 31st. Clocking a couple extra post-PAX days to see some sights and get slightly more drunk.
KillerMcDead - We definitely went the Grand Forks route last time, but this year we found cheaper tickets straight from the Winnipeg airport so we won't have to drive to Grand Forks at 4 in the morning and run into a coyote that messes up mi amigo's car! (All true facts)
Nice. We were using Expedia, and while each ticket was only about $100-150 cheaper, with 8 people in the group it made the choice obvious. Did you see the Protomen are playing here on September 1st? You guys should come out! They just posted the event on Facebook.
I'd definitely be up for a non-Vancouver Canadian meet-up!
I'd be done for meeting up for some reason or other while in Seattle.
I think it was two years ago that we had another Canadian crash our room (it's Americans and myself, typically) and we had a party. He wasn't nearly as much of a drinker as we like to let the Americans believe we are though. I had to do double duty to make up for it. :^:
In terms of 'freetimeness' Sunday is the best day for me. We don't even need to make it big, a quick Canuck photoshoot and some hockey talk is all I'd need to call it a successful day. Too bad there wasn't a Timmies in Seattle, that would be the *perfect* place.

I am tempted to bring my timmies mug with me and walk the floor with it. But yes, in terms of free time, I really don't see me having ANY this time around. Since I work in the industry I have party after party to go to on top of the panels all day long and such. Either way, I will certainly be wearing some sort of Canadian gear while there, be it a shirt or hat or something lol.
Just look for the Winnipeg Jets logo, and there I'll be...
Seems like I hopped on the forums way too late for all these drinking parties, but for reals, let's get a Can meetup, potentially on Sunday. I am in and so is my travelling band. Anywhere anyone can suggest? There was a pretty cool bar my friends and I kind of snuck into with the Giant Bomb guys last year. Got to meet Jeff Green, Patrick Klepek and the whole GB crew, not to mention plenty of fellow "Oh man, how did we get in here?!" attendees. No idea where it was though, as we were led there at around midnight. It was underground? I think?
I'm coming from Halifax, and will be there from Wednesday to Tuesday. Come visit me in the Handelabra booth, I'll be the Canadian developer in charge of the game about United States presidents

My wife and I are driving out of Winnipeg to Fargo, and flying out. Good to see other Winnipegers! I tried to find people on Twitter in Winnipeg going, but no dice.
One more from Winnipeg here. Flying out on the Tuesday before PAX. Never thought I'd hear of more than a couple other folks from here headed to PAX though. Everyone been in hiding or something?

Forgot about the forums mostly. We're flying in Thursday morning - driving down to Fargo weds night and flying out from there. This is our first PAX too, so we're kind of excited heh.
Ha! I'm in love with the idea of everyone walking around with some sort of Canadian identifier. You know what, I'll be walking around PAX with my Vancouver 2010 Team Canada scarf. If you see a pretty blond with a very red scarf that says 'Canada', that's me!
I'm cheating a bit, but on Sunday from 11:30-1:30 Gabe and Tycho will be signing stuff in the queue room. I've got a thing or two I'd like signed, and I'll take any excuse to have me there early. Can people do 11am on Sunday in front of the queue room?
Side note: On Friday AND Saturday night starting around 11pm-12am, a bunch of people from a site called Noobtoob will be hitting up the Elephant & Castle Bar which is right under the Red Lion Hotel. If you're looking for a place to drink and relax after the show, I wholeheartedly recommend chilling with us. Good group of people. I can't remember if you have to be 21+ though.
It'd be cool to touch base with some more people who know what PAX is (anyone else whose family/coworkers are like, huh?). Maybe we can organize something?
We could make the Protomen show after PAX a prototype for future meetings?
I might be pretty busy filming with the Unofficial Pax Community DVD while at PAX, so this would work out awesome. Hell, tickets are $10, I'll buy for anyone who says they can't make it!
Is anybody going to the Post-Pax party or the Protomen show on friday night at El Corazons?

Canadian meet up at PAX Prime? Yes please! We're going to make this happen people.
