Gaming laptop GPU advice

Hello,

I'm going to be buying a bigass desktop replacement gaming laptop very soon, and I'm considering the GPU options. I'm torn at the moment between a Nvidia 560M SLI configuration versus an AMD 6990M Crossfire configuration. I have the option for the 580M SLI, but that's almost double the price of the 6990M Crossfire and, from what I've read, a little less performance. (it's an Alienware M18x that I'm lookin at)

I've always had Nvidia cards and I've always enjoyed the driver support. I hear driver support on AMDs side isn't so good. I've also heard that there are lots of problems with AMD Crossfire configurations.

Any truth to all of that? Do any of you have these two configurations and can share some of your experiences with them?
