Yes. Karma's one of the funnest champions in the game IMO and once you've gotten some experience with her, she's also one of the most powerful ones as well. And since her learning curve is steep and few people play her, you have the element of surprise on your side since most people don't know what she's capable of.
How so? I haven't really had a chance to play since the new patch, but, my gut feeling was that the healing nerfs were gonna hit her really hard? Did the other changes more than make up for it?
You should buy Karma because baiting people into attacking you when you have low health then turning around and destroying them with your massively increased AP is hilarious.

Went teemo/soraka last night and I wasn't very impressed with her. We won the lane pretty handily against Noc/Taric but I don't feel that she made nearly as big of an impact as Taric did. Her healing did help with my sustain overall, like there were a couple times where I got jumped and would've had to go back afterwards if I didn't know that between her and my dorans blade I could get my health back up enough to not be in danger. Maybe she just wasn't very aggressive but I never really felt like I could secure a kill between tarics heal and stun, and they were pretty aggressive but I don't think they got any kills either. Eventually Taric DCed and we completely rolled them, but for me it just felt like standard ad/support.

Yup. Easy to tower dive with, her damage output is good now she can follow up her Es with Qs. Perhaps a mana cost nerf would make Q spam a little less dangerous?
How so? I haven't really had a chance to play since the new patch, but, my gut feeling was that the healing nerfs were gonna hit her really hard? Did the other changes more than make up for it?
My goto is Janna. She won't carry for you, but if you have a couple of semi-competent team mates she's a great multiplier. And she can be lots of fun for sheer "haha no you can't take this tower" hijinks. I think I might have played her with you lastnight?
Will look into her as well, I want to say I played her once my first week and it didn't click, but, hey, first week.
At low levels I know malhazar can be a beast. He's expensive. So they might have not seem him, farms really well, and can to a lot of DMG. QWRWQ does a lot of DMG and will kill alot of heroes 1v1. I've used him a lot and killed with him in most games.
Added to the list as well.
Ugh, bad night was bad.

Depends on whether you're solo top or have a lane mate.
If you have someone like Ashe to lane with, take Infuse first. This means you can open on an enemy with your silence and Ashe gets her crit and volley, and the enemy can't immediately Flash out of it.
If there's not going to be any easy first blood, I guess you could take Starcall, although personally I like Infuse early just because it annoys people with the silence. It's also a good defensive option.
Infuse is actually super strong in a general sense, in that it's a ranged instant silence which can spell death for characters like Shaco, Yi, Akali etc who all rely on particular escape mechanisms to avoid burst.
Fiz, you should play ranked with me! It'll be like the old days
Depends on how much you like clearing minion waves in 2 spells. And whether or not you are prepared to die in the service of doing as much AoE damage as possible in teamfights (it's alot)
So I've played around with runes for a bit and have been enjoying another fun Ezreal build.
Flat AD quints with 8 flat AD yellows, 1 armor or Mp5 yellow, arpen reds, Mp5 / mana / or MR blues
21/9/0
I like the numbers the runes give.
A nice flat 10 AD with 15 arpen. With masteries that's 13 AD (23 ad with doran's blade) + 21 arpen.
The blues are flexible. I'm actually thinking flat mana blues would be better than mana regen, but I don't have those yet. Flat mana gives 101.25 mana meaning 3 more mystic shots or another mystic shot + arcane shift. Flat Mp5 blues gives 34~ mana per minute so another q each minute. MR is always useful.
Flash + Exhaust
Improved exhaust is usually going to secure more kills than ignite on Ezreal, especially against another carry. It also doubles as an escape.
Flash because you can do bullshit dives with it, or overextend mid all the way to the turret and if the jungler comes you can still shift and flash out like it's all good
The item build is:
Doran's blade
Pickaxe and boots
- pickaxe if you can't afford both and you are mid
- boots and maybe d blade if you are in a sidelane and can't afford pick + boots
Vamp scepter
- Bilgewater cutlass if you can purchase it
- Maybe another d blade if you can't
Upgrade boots, either zerker's, sorc, or ionian. I've been doing zerker's lately
Revolver
- finish gunblade if you can
Bilgewater cutlass
-eventually build this into a gunblade after getting another item
-I like glacial shroud and spirit visage for defensive items
Having a slow on command from both cutlass and gunblade is awesome, especially since they each have only a 60 second cooldown.
Also, your lifesteal and spell vamp is stupid with two gunblades. All your skills are now damaging, not just your auto attacks and q. Your ult does 1000 AoE damage and nearly fully heals you if it passes through a nice minion wave. It also can completely annihilate the minion wave from across the map instead of just killing some and dropping the rest to low health.
It does require much more situational awareness than the tankier ezreal build, since CC and burst is much less forgiving. You have much more burst and leech than other ezreal builds as well as much better chasing thanks to gunblade and cutlass.
So, as a noob, Heimerdinger looks really fun. Is he decent? I'm considering splurging on Nasus/Jax instead with the points, but...turrets.
Contrary to popular opinion, I think Heimer is in a pretty good place right now. His ultimate could use a minor rework and he would benefit from a few QOL changes, but overall, I think he's pretty underrated. That said, his playstyle definitely requires more finesse than, say, your typical Annie.
Ok, it's decided...I'll grind up a bit more to get Heimerdinger, cause I'm also afraid to splash 6k on Miss Fortune and risk not enjoying her.
MF goes into the free rotation fairly regularly, so yeah, if you're liking Heimer I would go with him for now then see if the wench is to your taste next time she gives it away for free. But Jax and Nasus are also excellent pubstompy choices.
And sometimes you dont buy magic resist or a qss when you are playing against a fed AP mord, then post sarcastic things on the forum. Actually I pretty much agree with your teammates builds except leblanc and yours.
I don't think I ahve ever been this angry at a video game before. I remember why I quit playing.
I was 5-1 vlad doing fine, my team starts yelling at me for doing nothing. This confuses me because they can see my ult is down and I q every time it is up and charge my E up as well.
People keep diving them on towers and shit and they yell at me for not killing them...and then they call me bad when they are all 1-7 or so.
Game before that I get last pick and they tell me to go Ashe, I am okay with that. I haven't played in eight months, not sure how the meta game has changed or what these new items are. I ask if her build has changed. All of a sudden out of my team a spam of "noooo" "omfg feeder" "dont feed omfg dont feed"
They send me bottom lane with jarvan against Lux and Talon. I dont know what the fuck a talon is but jarvon dies twice and then they tower dive me and the chat explodes and everyone keeps typing gg saying the game is over because I am so bad. People are fucking retarded.
Also I banned Talon one game because I didnt want to play against or with him and they flipped the fuck out and called me bad...wtf?
I bought Garen with my IPs. One or two maches and I'll be able to pick up Janna as well.
Janna is hilarious to play.
Not a single game goes by where I escape with like 1/10 of my health from ganks because you literally cannot catch her.
I was getting chased down by a Yi. My friends were all "look out Yi is chasing you!" I go "don't worry he can't catch me."
They say "I dunno, Yi is pretty good at chasing people"
Nope. Not as good as Janna is at escaping.

His build is fine, only thing I would change on it at that point would be sell the boots and pick up another phantom dancer. I'm not sure what your comment about not buying mr against mord was about since he has three deaths and his lifesteal would be more than enough to chew through that entire team with no problems as long as you have good positioning.

People in this game are ridiculous. At the same time, maybe you shouldn't be easing back into the game in ranked. Normal is probably a safer place to relearn the game, the current champs, builds, etc. while not also putting people's ranks at risk. Everyone is super-competitive about ELO right now with the end of season approaching. It's generally expected that people entering ranked have a few champions and know the builds and general gameplay around them before queuing for ranked.
talon still seems okay, he doesn't burst hard enough to be an assassin but his AoE damage is really good for an assassin
CDR is really important on him though
my build currently:
exhaust/flash
9/0/21 (the 9th point in offense goes into sunder)
armor pen red +quints, armor yellow, magic res blue
boots + 3 pots for laning
health and damage buffer with 1-3 doran blades
brutalizer
upgrade to....lucidity boots!
then to bloodthirster
then either finish ghostblade if winning, or go to phage->frozen mallet if even/losing
explanation: exhaust/flash covers his two weaknesses, a lack of escape and a shortage of disable. I also go 9/0/21 because I want those two spells up as often as possible, as well as meditation giving JUST enough mana so I don't have to buy a mana regen item or use mana regen runes. Also gives you the maximum amount of CDR.
boots+3 pots because you're going to be mostly running around in the early levels, praying for last hits. you suck at early levels. deal with it.
my build goes for damage because talon has some pretty good AD scaling. 1.5 on Q, 1.2 on W, 1.8 on his ult.
CDR is important enough that lucidity boots have been the best in my testing. it allows you to E in, W and Q them, then invisible with R, and the invisibility lasts long enough for Q to come off cooldown and W soon after.
this layout gives you 34% CDR with lucidity boots and brutalizer, giving you space to go into ghostblade without overkilling on CDR.

They're amazingly cost efficient for the stats they give. You stack them in the beginning if you're worried about coordinated ganks, as they give you tank, AD, or AP stats along with a healthy chunk of health. Compare the price of 3 of them to 3 separate items to see the cost efficiency.

otherwise, why not keep them
edit: also multiple doran blades sort of let you get a "get ahead and stay ahead" effect in lane
if you're saving up for some 1000+ gold item, and i have 2 doran items on you, i can zone and harass you very hard because i know you can't beat me
hence hindering the farm for your big item, and maybe making saving up not worth it
