    Dear Steam thread,

I have an extra copy of Dungeons of Dredmor burning a hole in my inventory.

Got it for a friend but he bought it himself. Don't want anything in return, just want to contribute to the classy atmosphere you guys have got going here.

    Any takers?

I would love that copy, despite my avatar I don't actually own it and my girlfriend would be delighted if I stopped asking to use her steam account because I can't afford a $5 game.

Also could someone invite me to the PA steam group?

I generally like games that say things without saying them, and it's possible I've just been conditioned by hollywood to expect more rigid kinds of plots, but I suppose that I just found their behavior unrealistic. After all was said and done, I felt like the original game did a better job of making characters out of them and having you root for them. The best way I can think of to frame the sequel is a surrealistic (ultrarealistic?) fairy tale.

I might be too hard on the game right now. The last time I played it was about a year and a half ago, so perhaps I'll look at it again and see if maybe I pick up on anything new.

I really, really want to do a Let's Play for K&L2. It's short enough, has an interesting aesthetic, and people ignored it, which to me are all good reasons. Unfortunately, I can only FRAPS it at about 15 FPS.

    Non-specific ending spoilers follow:
Anyways, without getting into it too deeply, the game is a commentary on what the sort of violence you get from games would actually be like if it were lived out. It's gritty and voyeuristic and you're supposed to feel disgusted by it. It's the actual videogame equivalent of SAW (not whatever weak crap the actual game version of SAW was) - interactive and yet vaguely pornographic feeling. And after all the build up, the proposed "end boss" is just another in a long line of perfunctory victims, and the actual end bosses (note the game's subtitle) are mindless and so summarily dealt with that you don't even realize they're the only thing between you and the end.

And then the end just happens, and you're right, you can't even process it. Nothing actually ends in the ending, other than your involvement.

Like I said, there is stuff going on in the game. IO are smart enough chaps that I'm pretty sure quite a bit of thought went into the game.

Because they didn't release an update for Portal 2 itself, all the trading stuff is in Steam.

Anyone know when the Binding of Isaac is supposed to come out this month? I'm pretty excited for it, solely for how bizarre it looks.

Even the developer doesn't know, but he seems to be sticking to "by the end of the month." Last I saw on twitter he said he was working on the different endings, and that was a day or two ago.

Yeah hopefully it means it will be out soon but it sounds like he is enjoying himself coming up with new stuff to add :)

Never mind went to JWashke, rightfully as for to reply.

Unsurprisingly the error I encountered in Mac OS X was not present in Windows.

Big thanks to GoldenPants for Dungeons of Dredmor, I promise to pass on the generosity when I find myself in a better financial situation.

Oh okay makes sense. Seems odd though that was that option in the game itself saying coming soon since launch and with a recent-ish update for Portal 2 (update in preparation for an update or something) they did not remove the trade thing withing the game entirely if they had since choose to do such things in the main Steam application.

Now that I have a new PC and can actually run games purchasable on Steam, I'd like to kill digital mans with my fellow PAers. How do I get invited to the Steam group? Just provide username or what?

    Going to redo my offer.

Basically i have extra games, but very little money to get any games.

Here is what i have to offer:

    (1)Borderlands:GOTY
    (1)Super Meat Boy
    (1)Sanctum
    (0)Risk:Factions
    (1)Audiosurf

Im willing to trade any one, or any combination of these, to someone, for one or any combination of games they are willing to trade, so be it that i dont have the game already, or that the game is... well.. something id play.

So if you need one of these games, make an offer. I also offer my services for playing coop with anyone who gets Borderlands or Sanctum.

    EDIT: Risk:Factions has been claimed!

    4 pack = $6.00 originally $14.99 so 60% off..

Must've changed it then, when it was first up the 4 pack was running 14.99.

Anyone pick up Rock of Ages? Curious to know if they gave real video options and whatnot or if it's another case of a barebones XBLA port. Thinking of buying it but am just under the requirements, so want to know if I can tweak it a bit to get it running.
