Hello All!
*Note that all information in this thread is subject to change between now and August 26th*
This thread is for rules, registration guidelines, updates, schedules, and questions regarding PC tournaments ONLY. This thread will NOT cover BYOC activities, console freeplay, console tournament, or any other events, including handheld, tabletop, etc.
I'd also like to take a moment to thank Intel for generously devoting their time, efforts, and energy into making these tournaments possible. With out their support, these events wouldn't be possible, thank you.

Registration
- Registration for ALL PC tournaments begins on Friday, August 26th at 10am, right outside of the PC-Tournament area.
- Only full teams will be signed up. It is your job to join and/or create a team, we're not your babysitter. It is recommended you linger around the PC-Tournament area at signup time, and at tournament time and your chances of joining a team will be Pretty Good.
- Check-in time will begin 45 minutes prior to a tournament's starting time. Competitors are required to check-in at least 15 minutes before the tournament's start time. If you/your team doesn't check in during this time, your spot will be opened for another person/team.
General Information
- All tournaments will be exclusively using tournament computers provided by Intel and Nvidia. You will be allowed to bring over your mice and keyboards and customize your configurations, you will not be allowed to load software of any kind.
- If you sign up for a tournament, please be there. If you decide you will be unable to, check in with us and let us know so we can open up a spot for someone else.
- As a general rule, it's a good idea to show up at least 20 minutes in advance of each tournament, and that will give you time to configure your settings and warm up before the tournament begins.
- We should be able to sit teams next together for the most part, but in cases where we can't, Ventrilo servers will be available. Feel free to ask if you'd like one and we'll provide you with password information.
- In team games, please take care in choosing a team captain. Pick someone responsible. Being tall or otherwise easily found in crowd can also help.

Also, no MNC? Hrm.

All runes will be unlocked, but what about characters? Will we only be able to play the free ones?
Also, LoL AND Warsow!? I'm in heaven.
-I am going to pax solo.
-My highest elo rating was 1450.
-If you guys are not above 1200 elo I probably will hold out to meet people in line at the tourney unless you have players ready to go and practice.
-My in game name is CBR1000Rider, my smurf is CBR1000Rider3.
-I own all the champions on my CBR1000Rider account.
I can play pretty much any champ but am very good with the following champions in order of highest confidence starting at the top..
Vladimir (if I get mid as vlad, I can pretty much carry the team provided no one else feeds farther than 1-3.)
Kennen
Akali
Fiddlesticks
Evelynn
Shen
Blitzcrank
Swain
Nasus
Ashe
Xin Zhao
Pantheon
Add me in game or message me here. I am willing to set up a team or join a team. Add me on CBR1000Rider3, as it is my smurf and I will be playing on it until pax to get the rating up in ranked for the forum name color (just hit 30 with it a day ago).
Thanks
I'm primarily a Scoot, but I can also play a fairly solid Soldier. Been playing since...mid-2008, I think. Not professionally or competitively, but for a loooong time.
If you are interested in maybe joining me on a team, you should add me on the Steam thing! [HwP] Bonk Boy / Toast42. :>
EDIT: This is probably a silly question, but media can sign up for tournaments too, right? >_>
This map pool is wicked stale ... did someone copy-paste the rules from PAX 2010?
Here are some recent tournament map pools. Maps that are in the ladder map pool are italicized:
MLG Anaheim: Dual Sight, Metalopolis, Shakuras Plateau, Shattered Temple, Tal'darim Altar, Testbug, Xel'Naga Caverns
MLG Columbus: same except Typhon Peaks instead of Dual Sight
TSL3: Crevasse, Crossfire SE, Shakuras Plateau, Tal'darim Altar, Xel'naga Caverns, Metalopolis, Terminus RE
NASL1: Terminus RE, Crossfire SE, Backwater Gulch, Tal'darim Altar, Metalopolis, Xel'Naga Caverns, Shattered Temple, Typhon Peaks
NASL2: Antiga Shipyard, Dual Sight, Bel'Shir Beach, Terminus SE, Metalopolis, Tal'darim Altar, Crevasse, Shattered Temple, Xel'Naga Caverns
Dreamhack: Terminus SE, Xel'Naga Caverns, Crossfire SE, Tal'darim Altar, Crevasse, Metalopolis, Shakuras Plateau
Maps in 5/5 map pools: Metalopolis, Tal'darim Altar, Xel'Naga Caverns
Maps in 4/5 map pools: Terminus (the RE/SE thing is just release/second edition; they're almost the same map)
Maps in 3/5 map pools: Shakuras Plateau, Crevasse, Crossfire
Maps in 2/5 map pools: Dual Sight, Typhon Peaks
Maps in 1/5 map pools: Antiga Shipyard, Backwater Gulch, Bel'Shir Beach, Testbug
EDIT also how will maps be chosen? Veto or will each round have an assigned map? Loser picks for later rounds (not that I'll get there lol)?
"gay" and "rape". You keep on using those words. I do not think they mean what you think they mean.
All characters and runes and skins; everything.
We'll be using the tournament realm :]
Map picks will likely be assigned. It's up to the tournament admin how that plays out.

I don't know about that. They say there will be a grand prize winner for each day, which is something to consider.
I am sure there will be pickup teams there for anyone who doesnt have a team.
Alright. If there are pickup teams, see if you can find a slot for me when I drop by. I'd appreciate it a lot. This should be an interesting year.
Sent them a tweet to see if they'd reply. I don't know if there are any direct email contacts to nVidia.
I dont handle tournaments so I cant do that. When you signup im sure there will be a tournament staffer there that you can ask to be slotted into a team.
Gotcha. See you at PAX.
Not to be nit-picky about the date, but just to clarify, is the registration actually supposed to be on Friday, August 26th at 10am, right outside of the PC-Tournament area?
I think Friday, September 3rd was last year. September 3rd isn't even on a Friday this year. :P
I will be waiting around the PC-Tournament area to find a team to compete in Team Fortress 2. I usually play Pyro, but am pretty flexible if need be. I hope to make a valuable asset for this competition.
