Gabe Newell took a moment from devouring the families of his enemies today to announce that Valve are releasing a new and updated version of Counter-Strike entitled

Which everyone will most likely play, especially if it turns out to be an FTP model TF2 style.

Let's discuss this! I played shameful amounts of CS:Source back in the day and almost no CS 1.6 or whatever because I'm young or whatever.

Kind of looking forward to having a new FPS to play.

Anyway I played a helluva lot of CS back in the day before burning out on it, so I'd be very interested to see what's changed in the upcoming iteration

I thoroughly enjoyed CS:S but ultimately I strongly prefer Day of Defeat.

This new game does not excite me and Valve's apparent free-form project development system is frustrating, as I still do not have Half-Life 2 Episode 3

I bitched so much in clan IRC when they restricted where you could plant bombs and made hostages no longer movable by Ts. I probably played until 1.4 or so, but I still feel like the community peaked in the betas.
