Hello, Technology Tavern. I'm currently posting this from my phone so please excuse any typos. Yesterday, I could perceive nothing wrong with my computer. This morning, boot up is taking probably thirty minutes. This is not normal - I have a solid state drive, so it usually goes pretty fast. The strange thing is, despite the very slow speed, the boot sequence is proceeding as usual. Another possible clue as to the nature of the problem is that the BIOS won't allow me to check the POST or select any other options in the early boot. I am not sure if this is more likely a motherboard or SSD problem. Do you guys have any ideas? I will check back to provide further details, if necessary. By the way, my computer did boot, finally, and is operating at normal speed after a painfully slow boot up. Frankly, I'm a bit confused here
Yikes that sounds weird. I'd restart and see if the problem is still there. Is your SSD your entire system or your OS drive or what? Or is it used as a cache? When you say the BIOS won't let you check POST/select options, do you mean you try to change something and it just doesn't change, or what? Any error messages? You could try resetting the CMOS.
