F-zero AX woes...

So, I have recently been playing F-zero GX alot, I lost my old save, but have managed to getpretty much back up to where I was up to. I have sadly resigned myself to the fact that I am simply not good enough to unlock the AX courses on the game (this can be done by beating the other 4 GPs on master difficulty, which I can do on the first 2, but only expert on the last two)

Then, to my suprise/joy, I find an F-zero AX machine in the Walkabout in Durham, near me at uni!

So I plan a trip, with my max drive pro memory card, (1000 blocks, usb compatible) which has my save on it. I get there, and lo and behold, the memory card slot on the arcade machine is deeper than the one on the gamecube. Thus my unofficial memory card will not fit in...

Any idea of how I could unlock them? is there a way to transfer the save onto one of my official memory cards?

On another note. F-zero GX/AX is teh awesoem. Discuss.

There's one in Durham? Dammit I travelled all the way to the Trocadero in London to find an AX machine!

You can't transfer over GX saves to another card using the GC (which is stupid). I think you could get some third-party USB memory card reader to do it, but I don't know where you could get one from. Does the Wii's memory manager for GC cards allow you to copy/move GX saves?

Anyway the one AX machine I wouldn't read my card. This was because it was a US AX machine which would only detect NTSC saves. As I own the PAL version I was screwed. Very disappointing. I would create a new garage save file on an official card and try it out, before going to the trouble of transfering over your current garage.

PS. I went to Durham uni. What college are you at? I was at Aiden's.

I'm at stephenson, one of the scumy new stockton ones...

Yeah, I was really shocked to see it, if I had the ability to transport and store it, I would ofer to buy it of the manager (although they probably don't own it)

No one ever uses it, its the only arcade machine they have there, and its tucked away into a little corner.

    F-Zero is like

    hard.

I got pretty good at it. Well, the first cup. Then, when I got to the tracks that like to make you go a thousand miles an hour, and then fling you off of the edge, I keep dying and I get pissed and quit.

I'd love my own AX machine. Anyway let me know how you get on. I might have a trip to Durham if you are successful.

F-Zero GX is... well... so awesome.

Although 'Save Jody' on Very Hard can go die in a fire. I mean, yeah, OK, I beat (eventually), but still. Even if you manage to reach the door within the time limit, it's probably already closing so if you don't aim for the gap just right you might still lose the chapter.

If it makes you feel better, the AX tracks really aren't the great.

It won't let you copy the saves to another memory card? That's super-lame. I back up all my saves just in case.

I loves me some F-zero GX.

I did get a chance to play AX when I went on a tour of Nintendo last August but only got to play for a few minutes so I didn't really get into it far.

You're at Durham uni? Sweet. I'm probably starting at Durham this September after getting an unconditional offer from University College. Woo me!

Added bonus if there's an AX machine in town.

Says you. Green Plant - Spiral is probably my favorite one out of the 26 on that disc.

I'm pretty sure the Wii lets you copy an F-Zero save file. I think I remember doing it. I don't have two memory cards right now to try it out with, though.

If you buy it, then whenever you race on a Big Blue track you can press 'Z' and you'll get an alternate version of the Big Blue track as your background music during the race.
