Going to mirror my last DX1 playthrough. Stealth whenever possible, non-lethal whenever possible, but with lethal options ready if I get backed into a corner. Explodey Magnum and grenades should be enough for that .Second play-through will be focused around murdering everything with the biggest gun(s) available.
So what sort of playthrough is everyone planning on doing for their first run? Seeing as I expect most people will go stealth, I think I may try my hand at a straight up combat-focused character, with a side of strength and agility.
Many fridges will be thrown.
I always kinda naturally fall into shooty stealth when given the option
but my second run is probably gonna be pure melee/throwing large appliances

Seconding this. Predominantly stealth-oriented, with lethals to fall back on if SHTF... or if the guy really, really has it coming. I like to take my time and poke around for alternate routes anyway, which dovetails with a sneaky approach rather nicely.
Man, now I'm gonna have to join in movie watching to pass the time. How many hours to go? TOO FUCKING MANY
So, the Pulsed Energy Projection System aka P.E.P.S. (http://deusex.wikia.com/wiki/PEPS) seems to be similar to that force gun that Tom Cruise briefly uses in Minority Report.
Does it still count as a pacifist run if use that? I wont be killing enemies technically... just launching them into walls until they're unconscious.

Says it's non-lethal, presumably only a hardcore pacifist would avoid even KOing a target. I would hope it still counts, but I could only guess. I'm trying to avoid too much info before it's game time.
You know what sucks? I get up for work at 5:30 am so no waiting up for steam to let me play. Then have work, a hair apt and need to hit grocery store... such poor planning on my part. I should probably call in sick the rest of the week, that is how I excited I am for this game.
They limited it because with the system they have set up you would be able to run around and kill everybody in the world with ease by pressing the "I Win" button over and over again otherwise. If they had gone with a deeper melee system it might have been possible to do what you want, but they opted for cutscene kills and this was the best way they could find to balance it.

Aka Alpha Protocol's melee system.
Which was pretty much the greatest thing ever.
Halbech vs The Predator
I would be ok with this.
Also, I didn't realize there wasn't really any silence in a takedown, even if you sneak up on them. Guess that makes it harder to pick them off one by one anyway. but wait, there's an aug for taking down two people at once.
Since there's been some confusion, you are still not allowed to talk about the leak on this fucking forum. The people who did are no longer allowed to post in this or any other Deus Ex thread. Please report them if they do.
Please do not simply sit around and metamod without using the report button.
But...
Since the behaviour of literally every person put on the banlist for this thread has been absolutely fucking exemplary to the point of reporting their own posts when they posted by accident, I'm locking it. Someone make a new one, all restrictions on who can post are lifted.
Or do you mean, only people who continue to post about the leak in the new thread?
An early mission in a police station can be exceedingly tedious if you tackle it at the wrong time, which is a design flaw in a game of this type.
I wish I knew what the wrong time is. Should one do it as early as possible, because the mission will be completed alongside the story line progress? Or is it the opposite where one should wait for Jensen to be ready? I don't like tedious.

I read it as "dont do it too early" because it sounds like if you do then you may not be quite powerful enough and it would become a tedious grind to try and get through it. I could be wrong though.

Tedious sounds to me like doing it too early means you don't have the tools you need to take certain shortcuts. Something like not having enough hacking ability or persuasiveness means you have to crawl through a million vents and leap over pools of toxic waste to get past a locked door.
Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.

To clarify, I mean only people who continued to post in this thread. Sorry, I should have been more clear. All the people who were banned in previous threads are able to post in this one.
EDIT: Halfhand has discussed this infraction with me and his thread privileges have restored
Seriously considering just going to bed now and waking up very, very early "tomorrow." It'll be like taking a blackout pill in Call of Pripyat. You pass out, wake up a little later and all the bad parts are over!

I don't think that'll work for me. I took like, 3 naps today to kill time.

I'm tempted to see how much of the game I can talk my way through, with a side order of hacking turrets and/or shooting motherfuckers in the face.

Besides, I'm terrible at stealth so I'll need a backup plan for when I inevitably biff that.
They tried to bury us. They didn't know that we were seeds. 2018 Midterms. Get your shit together.

Boom. Time machine.
It only goes one way at the normal speed of time, but it's delicious, so it kind of balances out.

My ex-roommate came over last and signed into his Netlfix on my PS3 so I think I'm gonna do the same thing

I always stealth'd it too. Not so much to be passive - just to kick ass from concealment, on my terms.

I think we should waste the next two or so hours discussing this at great lengths.
Five more hours to go.... I guess I'll make dinner and by the time I'm done eating, it'll be another hour.
But I'm in Brazil, so it's probably gonna unlock only when it's friday.
Steam's a jerk sometimes.
#1. Beans might be useful
#2. I know the commander, because he's my pal
#3. I don't have much of a business

Get the hell out of here Denton!
No, within six hours.
Yes.

My first playthrough is going to be blowing the shit out of everything everywhere ever.

Someone probably already thought of this but it just popped into my head.
