I just found out how to get enemies to drop loads of ammo. On the drb sewer bit, where there are three of them stood next to each other. Spent a good 10 minutes just burning through some tranq ammo, dropping each of them, one at a time, from cover. Every time they get KO'd they drop a gun, and every time they get woken up, they will either pick up their gun, or pull out a new one. Ended up with about 9 guns once I started headshotting them instead
I used the tranq shot and the same thing happened. If you move a body too far away from where it patrols, or whatever, when you come back (or reload) they will show up as being dead, even if you didn't kill them.
I think accessible nodes for the root owning start showing up in china or late highland park maybe
There are a couple in Detroit the first time around. I know I ran into a bear of a fucking system that I was uncertain how to handle....until I saw that it was a double line to the main red box....
does anyone know of anyway to change the keys that move you round the ui? like in emails and such, the game seems to default to using the arrow keys, and I'd like to change it to the WASD keys. I know the game keeps its keybinds in the registry, but they seem to be just the ones that you can set in the settings.
Just wish the cutscenes were higher quality on PC.
Yeah, they seriously look like some nasty 90s shit, quality wise.
YES. What's their native resolution, like 1024x768? They look REALLY well done and all, but they're SO low-res (on my 1920x1200 screen), and pixelated. It's kind of embarrassing.

So for the Ghost trophy for not setting any alarms, does that include not ever getting 'suspicious' or 'alerted' or whatever they're called?
It's apparently just literally activating an alarm. It actually makes a stealth run a bit more adaptable; you can be seen by folks, and you can neutralize them, so long as they don't activate one of the alarms in the various hideouts and more secure buildings.
Where is this coffin hotel with another arms dealer? I've only seen the Brothel dealer.

its specifically them seeing you and going hostile towards you. if you stun, or shoot people from the front, even though they die they go very briefly hostile and will cause you to fail. Also aiming at someones head from above, when they are alerted, will mean they see you.
This is not what I've heard.
I got ghost at the end of the first real level, I was spotted several times while shooting people, the only thing I never got caught at was by the cameras while the guards were alive. I even ran right through the cameras setting off the alarms a couple times after killing them. On PC.
I think I'm about halfway through this game now, and I played for about 11 hours straight yesterday. Haven't done that since I was a kid. The emotional and philosphical weight on display throughout this thing is unparalleled, and the gameplay is flat out brilliant. It manages to recapture that same feeling that no other game bar DE1 has done; giving me the illusion that I'm genuinely clever, and genuinely solving problems using my own intuition, rather than following a designer's path.
That said, fuck the boss fights. Reading reviews I thought they were overreacting about how bad the boss fights were, but good grief they are horrible. They are so awfully "video-gamey" that they genuinely made me angry. In most games, I wouldn't even bat an eyelid at them, but in a product that is otherwise so superlative, they are immersion breaking and ridiculously out of place.
Is there a precedent for developers patching out content? Because that is what I'd like them to do. Or at least, someone should mod that shit out.

I haven't seen any trace node that has had a two-way path so that you could actually get to it. It's all been one way nodes.
I've seen one so far. I don't think it's very common.
Really? I've seen plenty, especially on the alarm pads. I'd say maybe one in four have had them for me.

Typhoon is really the anti-boss aug. At this point, given the amount of grief we've heard about them, I think it's probably worth advising everyone to take Typhoon just to get through them. That is, unless you're really looking for a challenge.
It'll cost you 2 Praxis points (and a very small amount of inventory space for the ammo), but it'll save you a lot of headaches.

Really can't wait for the next gen of consoles. Then we can get a Deus Ex game with none of the limitations this had, plus who knows how many other possibilities.
Like instead of the rioters being blocked off, we'll actually be able to have that many people being rendered.
11 hours so far according to Steam (although I left it on, I think I've played around 8) and I am loving it. In China, nice to see that it's a much bigger area.

Processing power, caching, those are the next steps in advancing things.
Where is the arms dealer guy that the guy you save from the first level tells you about?
One arms dealer is in the dilapidated gas station. The other is inside one of the Downtown Apartments buildings, the one you need to climb some ladders and then go through a window to access. I can't remember which is which.

With less sidequests than detroit, sadly.
I feel like they could have fit at least 5 in Hengsha.

It had the same amount of side quests in my game. And they were, arguably, more fun and interesting.

You may have done the same amount, but Detroit does have more available, it's a matter of documented fact. Hengsha really only has two: Mailk's, and Mai's. I guess you could count Mai's as two if you want. The bartender's doesn't really count because you're required to do it in some form to get to "meet" Tong and advance the storyline, don't you? Whereas Detroit has Motherly Ties, Cloak and Daggers, and Lesser Evils. Then on the return trips, Detroit has two more and Hengsha only one more, if I'm counting correctly.
The game does have the feel of having run into a time/resources crunch at some point during development, where Eidos started off with their ambitions at a peak in making the Detroit hub and designing Hengsha and then had to progressively scale back and narrow their focus. We already know Montreal was originally an entire third hub that got cut down to a single mission.

I would gladly pay another $10 for Montreal but it is kind of shocking a third hub wasn't in with the 4 year development time. Not to mention I kind of feel like the game needed it in the first place, but whatever, still one of the best games ever.

The bartender's mission is a side mission. The game counts it as one and it's not required to advance the story line. I got it after I met with Tong.
when I took the chip, the cutscene had it just acting all "oh noo!", I crouch and am all "ugh what's going on!" then the fight starts and some of my augs still work so I didn't care. so not all of them are disabled. or maybe I'm just too good
save Malik? I tried really hard, but there were too many to kill with my stealth-oriented armament. Then I found her body in the harvesters' garage and murdered everyone in the building out of spite.

Edit: FUCKING AUTO-SAVING DRAFTS.
Not that I can tell; which really sucks.
Origin: Galedrid - Nintendo: Galedrid/3222-6858-1045
Blizzard: Galedrid#1367 - FFXIV: Galedrid Kingshand
that is an outrageous price for this game. it's worth $60.
