That would indeed be this awesome looking gamecube Kirby game (appears based on SSBM engine to me)

Kirby is one of the most consistant platformers out there (who never gets enough appreciation imo...) Will they be able to live up to Kirby Super Star with this Wii iteration?

Discuss.

    The animation is just amazing.

    Wow.

I cannot believe how impressed I was with the animation. And I've already seen that trailer.

If its for Wii, it may be another Super Paper Mario, and the bitching shall commence. But HAL will put in some more Wii remote specifics with this port, and if not I don't give a shit. The selling point of the system is the remote, but I'll gladly still play fun games.

Hey, maybe this means Dead Pheonix has a chance of showing up on the Wii, motion controls and all!

    *stifledlaughter*

Seriously though, this is awesome. I'm really happy to see that the work that was done for the title won't goto waste, especially given it's potential with puzzles and action in each level.

They should make him a vampire on the cover of this one.

But seriously a vampire enemy that you could steal the power from would be awesome.

Good to know the Kirby Gamecube project hasn't been scrapped. Why do all these delays happen to Kirby? He deserves better. Information from the Dengeki Online article (taken from the Ouendan 2 thread) says that Kirby on Wii doesn't even have an expected release period (It's the last game in the Wii chart). It doesn't even have a subtitle yet! Goodness, I hope Kirby gets a new console platformer soon.

Kirby platformers really could use a bit of a makeover, if you ask me. The gameplay is fairly antiquated and they're easy to the point that it's criminal. They should at least up the speed, i.e. let him inhale and attack while moving and increase his air maneuverability. If they can't do that then Kirby is better off left to franchise titles like Canvas Curse, IMHO.

This man knows what he is talking about. HAL and Nintendo should listen to him. If they make any new Kirby platformers, they should just blatently rip off what they did for Kirby's Super Star. That was the series peak.

American Box Art Kirby's wrath shall know no bounds, and his iron-fisted (nubbed?) rule shall spread through the land like hellfire, destroying all who dare oppose him.

And then, having crushed the spirits of all mankind, he will unmake the world.

IGN did an article about games that were "missing in action" with the new consoles, and this was one of them.

They said it was supposed to be in full 3D. The first part of the video seems that way, then it looks 2D after that.

Playing Kirby SS with my brother was fucking fun. I'm ready for another good Kirby game.

This looks promising. Kirby was one of my favorite games from the nes era, I was rather annoyed at the lack of platformeyness in some recent titles (Squeak Squad was awesome, although a bit short/easy)
