If you guys hate it so much, why vote for it? I will admit it is starting to get a little repetitive due to map balance issues, but I still enjoy the hell out of it. I will usually vote for payload over vsh.
Because some people are morons. Like last night when there were a higher than normal number of non-regs on my usual stomping grounds we managed to vote for hydro and shortly thereafter skipped granary, and were one vote away from having to play 2fort.
It would be great if 2Fort and Hydro were removed from the rotation, or make it so x amount of regular players need to be on the server to allow those maps in the rotation? Not sure if the latter can be implemented...
One time I steel my team got totally rolled on defense. We hatched a plan to go straight for E when the game came up. 2 medics rolled Kirtz, I rolled Soldier, and a bunch of people rolled Scout. One of the medics and some players went for A to keep people distracted. We had 3 scouts on E with myself and the medic guarding the window from A to E and the Red spawn. The point got about half capped before anyone came over. There were a few initially, but more came. It turns out the soldier's rocket launcher can gib anything in that little room by firing at the ceiling. I managed to gib a sniper or 2 before everyone showed up. People on Red seemed to forget that there is an entrance from spawn to E. Anyway half their team showed up in the window and I had the medic hit the kritz. The blast force of each rocket caused a rain of gibs to fly out of the window. By the time the kritz was over, it was too late. We had capped the point. Good times were had by all.
That medic was me!
I remember that match fondly and wish I had a replay.
It's not that I really hate Hale that much, it's that almost all of the maps are so bad for it. The only one I really find enjoyable is the pagoda/hilltop one because it feels even. I'm up for new Hale maps, though. Just not the bad cramped quarters our only way out is 12 engies maps.

A quick visit from the Steam thread to say that I have some TF2 stuff to trade for game(s), if anyone's interested. Feel free to check out my inventory and wishlist (link in the sig). I have no idea what anything's worth, so this would be a fine opportunity to take advantage of me. I think my "big" items are Bill's hat, the wingstick, the dragonborn helmet, the pip-boy, and the Deus Ex stuff.

What do you want for your Bill's? Check bag in sig.

How does Rock of Ages for the Deus Ex stuff sound?
Also, why do you have Deus Ex in your wishlist? Didn't you get that when you pre-ordered DX:HR?
EDIT: To keep it relevant, here's one of my videos.
I was offloading some of my crates to a guy on my usual server last night and ended up getting quite a lot of strange weapons, many of which I didn't have. I'm pretty pleased with that.
The lucky bastard managed to unbox three unusuals while I was playing. A Texas Ten Gallon and Ze Goggles with purple plasma, and a Connoisseur's Cap with scorching flames. That was after about 40 crates.

I wish people would understand in VSH that the control point is actually a way that you are intended to be able to win, just like in any other CP game mode. People act like it's an exploit or something for Hale to cap it, but it's only pitifully easy for him because red stubbornly refuses to stand their ground and defend it.

Like I said the time I did it, I know that I personally hate staring at a non-respawn screen watching one or two shmucks trying to kite Hale through 7,000 HP. The point opens up when a supermajority of a 24-man server is out of play-- you could at least have the decency to end the game in whatever way's available.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.

Yeah, most of the time when only 5 people are left they're not going to be able to kill Hale unless he really got his ass kicked before. The point gives them a chance to actually win regardless of his health, and it also gives Hale the ability to win without wasting everyone's time. There's no reason not to cap it.

Just got a Strange Jarate as well, I didn't even know that was a thing.

It was totally worth dying for this.
Someone made a dinosaur pack over at the polycount forums.
