So, after talking with Wicked today before and after we had those crazy wins, he suggested I take up Mordekaiser. My first question would that if I get him, is it better to go sorc/sunfire/FoN/rylai/something/something like the top rated Mobafire guy suggests, or glass cannon with a lich/deathcap/non sorc boots/gunblade/somethingx2 like Dyrus and Vman7?
I build him a good mix. I've actually had some success focusing on his Q with a Frozen Mallet / Wriggle's / Triforce. One single auto attack on someone usually means they are dead without being able to escape with that build.
I think he's not dangerous enough with all defense and not tanky enough with all offense. All offense is begging to be CC chained and do 0 damage with a melee no initiate / no escape champ.
For shoes, I personally recommend Merc or Boots 3. I see the value of Sorc, but I'd rather have tenacity of be able to run after people to murder them.
The tankiness of your build should depend on how much CC / burst the enemy team has and whether your team has someone who is tanky already .
edit: To elaborate, I had a very successful game as Morde where I was going pure death and carrying hard. I lost the game for our team by getting Ashe arrowed and killed before I could do anything. If I had grabbed a guardian angel instead of a Rylais or Abyssal Scepter I would be up and ulting as my team piled in.

You could always keep it flexible and decide on your build order as you play on a game per game basis.
What I meant was, is it usually better to be tanky and you live and take a few out as a result, or walk up to them and alpha strike them as a glass cannon and if they aren't dead, they're so low that someone else will mop them up.
Play both. Pick which items are most appropriate based on team composition. That's the point of keeping it flexible.

Gunblade Sona was also a smashing success. Started doran's blade and flashed into the tower for a double kill on Ashe and Janna at level 1, leveled me to 2 so I took speed and walked out.
Waiting for Kayle to unlock so I can roll the gunblades out with her.
Maybe I might try gunblade Nidalee. Get a spirit visage in there somewhere as well I think.

Yeah runepage bundle doesn't include runes. Lot's of people get rylai's on fiddle for the slow and HP along with AP.
Edit: Also, SORAKA SO GOOD. Every skill SO GOOD. I keep playing soraka, and i keep winning.
I wonder if they plan on updating her model anytime soon, it's lookin pretty crappy compared to the newer ones as well
